According to Thorsten Overgaard apparently the 35mm and the 50mm will be released as a special edition later... Kidneys ready...

With Panasonic introducing Phase Detection. One could hope maybe we see this introduced into the Q3. Which would drastically improve the face detection and AF capabilities, even further than the Q2.

I can't imagine with all the price increases of components how it could be an upgrade while remaining reasonably priced. Design for manufacture.... I think the Q2 is going to be the winning example when it comes down to Q vs Q2 vs Q3 this time next year......

Wry interesting way to look at it and you could be right. While I have no idea what the price will be I’ll throw a guess out there at between $5899-6200

Hi Joe. Excellent video as usual. I just rented the Q3 and I'm returning it on monday. You once helped me with a Q2 I cannot set the thumb wheel to have the full shutter speed range. Meaning I have to use the shutter dial to select for example 1/125 and the I can turn the thumbwheel in 1/3 stops a few clicks before I have to select 1/250. Can you have the Thumbwheel as the main shutterdial and adjust the shutter speed the entire range? I have set the shutter for hybrid, and the thumb wheel to AUTO (I can only select ISO, Exposure comp and auto) I assume you can do this on the Q3 as it's possible on the Q2 (which I don't have any more) :)

A true 35 mm lens is a different image than a 35 mm equivalent cropped image from a true 28 mm lens, the background is closer to the subject

If its finally a leica Q with a fixed 35mm lens i will sell my kidney for it. 28mm is just too wide for me so i never got into the Q system.

A 35mm would be acceptable but I just don't see them doing it. Not when they can add the cropping features they already employ.

@@JoeDAgostinoPhoto Yeah true. I gotta say i saw a video about the leica Q2 in 35mm crop mode and the photos looked amazing. Sadly the Q2 is a bit out of budget for me right now but im slowly gonna save up some money for it to buy it hopefully somewhere next year.

By the time you own a Q and a M+lens your sitting on $20K, me and you come from a DSLR I got no problem going back to a Canon 5Dxx and a few lens all for under $1K. 20K you can put down on a studio and rent to other photographer.

Too each his own. After adapting to mirrorless cameras I would find it extremely cumbersome to return back to an optical view finder DSLR. The M Series is a completely different animal for me. However I absolutely love my W Cameras and if they help me fell inspired and being out the best in my work/creativity then I find it hard to say that the system is not worth the price.

I will be surprised if they adopt PDAF and a new lens length. They've never been innovative. Leica likes to milk the cow 😆 Also a cropped 35/ 50mm is not a true 35/50mm. A 28/24mm lens will always have the same perspective/ compression

You are absolutely correct. I do believe Leica made some nice innovations with the M11. Some of those features carried over would be nice.
