Yeah but it doesn't last. Your talking 1 month of protection with Meguiars compared to up to 6 months with the P21 big difference and I am not waxing my vehicle once a months.

I used to use it all the time. There was a place called Richlin that had it for $4.99 a bottle back in the day. Great stuff. Not ceramic great, but great.

@@juujuubees379 Yes a great point, it doesn't last. But they don't make outrageous claims it will either. And yes not everybody will want to wax once a month, if even that. But there are people who really like to just put something on their sports or luxury cars just to put something on. Less about protection, and more of the enjoyment of the process to pass the time. Different tools for different uses.

Collinite appears to be a favourite around the world. I have used it for nearly 20 years, I regularly recommend it to people who see me washing my car and ask after a good wax.

I just started using Collinite 845 earlier this year. I have a cabinet full of car waxes and sealants but all the raving I keep hearing about 845 convinced to buy a bottle to try on my daily driven car that doesn't get a space in my garage. Also, I live in the desert southwest with the brutal, relentless sun. I am quite impressed with Collinite. I beads water like crazy for weeks, looks great on my car, is easy to apply and is very reasonably priced. This will definitely be a staple in my detailing cabinet!

Excellent review and, in my opinion, spot on. I lived near Utica from 1976-1983 and everyone knew about Collinite, as it was made in Utica, NY.

Great video, Sandro. 👍 I still enjoy using traditional type waxes too. I use Collinite 476s through the winter months here in Britain. My two favourite summer waxes are Poorboy's Natty's blue paste wax and Dodo Juice Purple Haze.

This is the video that convinced me to try out Meguiar's Deep Crystal- for only $10 I had to! I have to say, I'm impressed. I've used many different waxes, but this one has the best durability I've seen so far. My car sits outside and I daily it, I waxed it two months ago, and once you get the layer of daily dust off, it's still smooth and shiny! Thanks for the awesome video!

Meguiar's paint protect is my fav. Incredibly easy to apply, very economic too (I'm still using the same bottle I bought 5 years ago !), and although it's not the best in terms of hydrophobic behaviour, it's still awesome, and really does its job of protecting the paint. Almost no contamination bonds between big washes.

Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba is my favorite. A time lapse video of a 3 month period would be nice to see how they all stand up.

Nice review. I still use the P21 as my summer wax with occassionaly Natty's Blue. Doesn't last long but love the finish it gives and ease of application.

Thank you for doing this video. It was insightful... Helpful to know what I know, from experience... I own, use (and like) both Pinnacle and P21, the past 15 years. I will have to try the Collinite 845 and Meguiers. The P21 has been my standing favorite (not sure why) may simply be cost -vs- performance...

This test was clear from the start Meguairs's, Pinnacle then Collinite & Ps21 tie break at least for gloss to me. Almost seems to lift those levels off the paint even with my eyes😉

I just got my first ever car and done my first ever waxing, and used 845. It's come up amazing. The water beading it's so intense it actually looks a bit freaky in a car park next to other cars, like the car has had blobs of glass stuck all over it. It's added a mirror-like shine to the car as well. Really pleased with it so far. I live near the sea, so i wanted some heavy duty protection, which lots of people say 845 is good for.

I'm in the USA. I've used Meguiar's products for over 20+ years and I've never been disappointed. Granted, I'm not driving $200K Ferraris or Porches, but I've used it on all my cars and motorcycles. It gives me excellent value for the price and has always been readily available at local stores.

I love waxes as there is nothing else that gives that warm wet glow like a quality wax with carnauba in it. My favorite has been Collinite 845 for years as I find it’s appearance to be exceptional on darker colors and metallics. I was impressed with the Meguiar’s Deep Crystal Wax so I’m going to splurge and buy a bottle for $8.76 US at the local Walmart. Please do more of these wax and sealant comparisons as there is no other detailing channel that describes the differences as well as you do.

Great comparison. I use the Collinite (it's almost a cliche: Power Lock Plus+ topped with two coats of Collinite 845). The Meguiar's has more fillers, and that is not trivial for a single product applied in one coat on dark paint. That said, I carefully polish my paint before waxing, and so I do not need all the fillers. And I have found that I can top off the Collinite with Optimum spray wax and maintain the surface until I want to strip it.

Considering the price point. Choosing meguiars deep crystal is a no brainer here. Definitely pinnacle souveran doesnt perform 4or5 times better than meguiars...although it is 4or5 times expensiverrrrr. Like u. I hv no idea why i stopped using meguiars deep crystal wax a long time ago. It was the first wax i ever used. Sometimes its just shocking how the hype of new stuff....makes us willing to spend more money on a product that perform just on par with what we already have in our garage... Thank you for doing this video. Im going to purchase the meg deep crystal and start to using it again..pairing it with turtle wax seal and shine.

@@edubb2491 Well to an extent yes, but a lot of waxes can't stand up nearly as well to road salt as Collonite does. Collonite has more chemical resistance and longevity than most over the counter waxes. Some waxes will be removed or severely impacted from a single car wash using a maintenance soap. So I can put this on in say November-December and it'll put up a good fight until Spring time :-)

Never tried p21s. Deep crystal is very good. I tried it a few times in the 90’s. I have 845. Never tried Pinnacle. Great video. Lol, might have to grab a bottle of deep crystal. I’ve bought lots of waxes lately. Not sure why as ceramics blow them away in longevity. I am weird like that.

Feels so calming to listen to your voice. I find the gloss from ceramics very flat or lack character unlike the deep warmth of canuaba wax. Wonder if its possible to apply canuaba over ceramics to get that glow?

It really shows how far car protection has come. Those waxes didn't last too long after you hit them with the chemical/ degreaser. I guess the main reason to use them would be less prep to apply, a warm lustre finish and cost compared to ceramics. I see some Swissvax waxes going for hundreds of $$$. They must offer something extra special over these but I wonder would they last any longer???? Also the new hybrid ceramic infused waxes would be an interesting comparison/ test like Angelwax enigma and Kamikazi version.

I used P21S 100% carnauba wax ( also labeled as R222 in some countries) for the first time on my new 2020 black Silverado High Country, before applying the wax I spent 12 hours on paint correction due to dealer new car prep damage. I choose this wax based on reviews here on youtube, over the last 35 years I have tried most every wax, sealer, glass coating and polymer wax looking for that product that looks good and lasts, lets be honest, what good is a product if it only lasts a few weeks. We have all seen the water hose test done on newly waxed cars but that means nothing when it comes to durability. In April 2020 I applied the P21S to my entire truck, top surfaces were given 2 coats, by the end of May 2020 the wax was already gone from the hood and roof panels leaving them exposed to environmental damage, June 2020 I had to again paint correct the hood and roof due to hard water spotting into the paint requiring machine compounding then DA polishing. I might add that the truck was only washed 2 times in those 2 months using car wash soap and I live in the northeast so extreme sun was not the cause of the wax failure. Of all the coatings I have used in 35 years P21S rakes dead last in durability If you value your time and money P21S is not worth your while, on the other hand if your car never sees rain or stays in the garage then maybe this wax is for you.

Well done mate! I’m venturing over into coatings now but waxes are my favorite. The warm glossy shine is second to none in my opinion. They really fall off from coatings and sealants as far as protection goes. I’m hoping Angelwax Enigma with its added si02 or whatever is added helps with longevity..that would be awesome!

Meguiars Deep Crystal Wax really shows for a retail level product it can give a level of finish the you can expect from a pro level wax. I have been using fusso wax for a wile now and like the collinite 845 its old school that keeps finding new users every year. Have you used it and do you like it ????

Also not sure if you have time for this, but I've been curious about this recent trend from Meguiars. They claim you can use any wax or sealant, and then top it with their Ceramic Wax (Either liquid or Spray) and still retain the shine of the wax and durability of the Ceramic. I've always lived with the school of thought that you can't layer the least durable product first, followed by the more durable product. Any truth to their claims?

The Collonite is by far the most econmical option if you do ten or more cars a week. Not only is ot the least expensive but its flash time is the quickest. Its a fantastic wax as well.

My sincere congratulations for your videos from Spain, your explanations and comments seem to me clear, sincere and honest. I loved this video in particular and I would like to ask you a question. I especially value the final finish and the shine in the paint, and I don't give too much importance to the duration, as I don't mind re-waxing every so often. My car sleeps in the garage and I only use it at the weekend, what do you think is a better wax for me, regardless of the price difference, Pinnacle Souveran, Meguiars Deep Crystal or Meguiars Gold Class that you have also compared in another video? Thank you in advance for your response!

That really nice to hear, thank you! Meguiars Deep Crystal Wax, is just beautiful to apply, leaves a nice slick finish and on a well maintained car just makes a lot of sense especially if you enjoy re-waxing on occasion.

This may be a niche and boring content suggestion but maybe you could make a vid with in-depth explanation of water contact angles and other frequently used terminology in the industry, it would help novice viewers better understand results.

What one is the most reasonable priced ? If $7-10 send me one ! ( No Cleaner compound please). Just sealing finish wax !

If value is important, it’s hard to beat and performs reasonable well with a great easy user experience. Having said that, a lots happened since it’s release so there’s a bunch of newer hybrid waxes and sealants that will tend to out perform it but may not offer quite as good value as it is dirt cheap!

What Collinite lacks in luster, it makes up with durability, its pretty darn hard to get it off. Sandro, great comparison as usual. Do you prefer waxes or sealants?

Add another layer of Collinite and there will be no shortage of luster.

Meguiars Gold Class Carnauba. Nothing else close.

Im pretty sure that both Collinite and Meguiars are infused with polymers while P21 is a pure wax. Not sure about Pinnacle but its behavior shows that there most likely aren’t any polymers in the mix. This could explain the different behaviors to the slickness of these four. The Meguiars also have fillers and is not completely comparable with pure Carnauba waxes.

Can Collinite be applied with a DA machine? If I did multiple coats, do you apply and wipe, then recoat or apply, apply, apply, then wipe? Just did a compound and polish on a old dark blue Civic that desperately needed it, want to apply a good wax to avoid that again!

Yes you can machine apply it, and to layer you would apply, wipe it off and then reapply

You don’t want to use any wax on blistering hot paint, always try to work in the early hours of the morning or late in the evening when the sun is at it’s lowest points, but I have tried and used it in direct sunlight and it’s about as sun friendly as any wax gets.

Hi Sandro, i really like this video. Would you recommend buying the Megs if you just want to enjoy waxing your car, or have you tried another wax that you perhaps enjoy applying even more? 😊

Crystal Wax is really up there for me as far as the user experience, so id enjoying the process is your main goal it’s about as any wax out there.
