Picking the right chair is HARD. Picking the right chair when there are DOZENS of choices is even harder. So I asked my community if they wanted me to help find them their perfect chair and I got an overwhelming response of "YES!". So I put out a questionnaire on all my social media channels (follow me if you're not already!) and received 39 requests for help finding the perfect chair. The questionnaire went pretty deep, asking specific questions, and this is part 1 of my response for people 5'7 (170cm) and below. Let's get Ahnest!

Hey Dominik here 😅 very cool video and great idea! I love that you really took time for the different people and gave some available background information to make it really personal. So let's get Ahnest, I don't know any other KZfaqrs that pay so much attention to their audience - huge respect for that! I'm used to be not easy 😅 but your recommendation is very welcome. I didn't had the Steelcase Gesture on the radar and will definitely check it out. Even I was now part of the first video I'm exicted to see the next part!

@@spongebob93lover Hey Wei Lin, I haven't finally bought a chair yet because I started renovating my office/gaming room. But I made further researches on both chairs (the Embody and the Gesture). While the Gesture seems to be a solid choice the Embody still has this extra attractiveness due to its unique design and but that's just guessing: a more special sitting-experience based on the way it's build. So, I decided to go for the Embody as soon as the room has been finished.

Hey Dan Rusty here, love all your content! Real nice production quality, music, video quality, questions you ask everything A+. I'm not big into social media so hopefully its ok I ask here. 2. I'm 5' 10" 3. 165lbs 4. Canadian 5. Gaming, programming, being productive, I sit relatively properly, like to cross legs just at the ankles rest feet on caster wheels sometimes, maybe straight back few inches off backrest sometimes, when I'm watching videos relaxing I put my feet up, lean way back and end up napping with an airplane pillow a fair amount. 6. I sit for a wide variety of times 15 minutes to 8-10-12 hours (napping) with breaks of course. 7. I've never owned or used a chair with lumbar, I don't think I'd like aggressive lumbar. 8. Prefer leather or other warm/durable materials. 9. No budget, I want to get the best chair for me I can. Although it doesn't mean it will necessarily also the most expensive right? 10. No chair ruled out, I'd rather spend a bit extra for quality. 11. Through my research it seems the Logitech Embody with the upcoming Atlas headrest might be a good option? 12. I've been using a no name fake leather high back office chair for 8ish years its served me well but the seat foam has been bottomed out for a while and the fake leather is falling apart. It has a very basic tilt function where it stays in the "L" shape at all times but I like that when I tilt back I cannot slide down due to the shape keeping me in a somewhat seated position. My next chair needs to have a good headrest or be high back, I end up napping a lot in my chair. Thanks!

1:04 I'm 4'11&1/2", and I found a tiny, low ergonomic chair that allows me to put my feet flat on the floor! The catch: I have to use it with a VERY low desk too, but it's 1000% worth it! I ordered the "PT62 Ergonomic Petite Tasker, OMI-PT62" chair by Office Master Smart Seating (seat height 15.5" from floor), and an Uppeal desk (adjustable for floor sitting, chair sitting, and standing). This was expensive but worth it for me. (It's definitely cheaper - and safer - than back surgery!) My setup looked ridiculously low to me at first, but as soon as I sat down... wow! It's perfect! If you can't afford these but want to skip the footrest, at least find a very low chair (so your feet are flat on the floor), then set up a plank or sheet of wood at the appropriate height for your arms (eg, place night stands, crates, etc, under either side of the "desk" top).

Thanks, I hope you do mine in the next video. As for availability in Europe the biggest issue is used chairs, because the used market is not as big as in the US, so used chairs usually is not an option. Also the prices might be a bit higher than the US but in general it's possible to get any chair that exists in the US.

Hi Dan, This is a great idea and just what I need. I've must have watched nearly every chair video you've done, but I missed the social post. I hope this works for you instead... 1. Jeff 2. 5'6.5"" (Short legs, longer torso) 3. 230lbs 4. USA 5. Focused- Leaning forward, belly right up against my desk, elbows on the desktop, extra pillow for additional lumbar support, heals of my feet on the legs of the chair. Working, but less forward- Leaning slightly back, strong, but unlocked back support, elbows on the arms of the chair, keyboard and mouse right at the edge of the desk. Zoom call w/o video- Leaning way back, feet and calves on the desk, keyboard on my lap. 6. 8-10 hours hours per day with maybe 10-15 minute breaks every couple of hours. 7. Yes on aggressive lumbar. 8. Prior tailbone injury, so soft seat with a steap fall off in the back to keep the pressure off the spine. 9. $6-900 10. No short back, or flat seat pan. No non-adjustable arms. No Staples... 11. I just traded in a 2 year old Staples Dormeo for a SecretLab NeueChair. I liked the high back and the flip up arms of the Dormeo because the arms were short enough to allow me to "belly up" to the desk when I needed to. But the seat was just too uncomfortable after a few hours and the arms did not adjust up and down. I did like that the arms followed you when you sit back. The seat and controls of the NeueChair are great. I'm still waiting for the headrest, so for now it's still a little short. My shoulders are right at the top of the back. What I don't like are the arms. I wish they were 4 way so I could push them back and get closer to the desk. The seat is adjusted all the way forward and the lumbar is at it's max. I think it might be perfect with the headrest and if I could push the arms back... I'm considering sending it back and trying a NOUHAUS ErgoPro. That also comes in red. 12. I also like the concept of the forward tilt feature on some chairs, but I have not seen one at a price point I'm willing to invest without being able to try it first. I'm not a gamer, but I do spend a good amount of time sitting back with a tablet on my lap working in Photoshop. Thanks for all you do!!!

Awesome video, I can’t wait for my recommendation! I’m the skinny ~165 pound 6’2” fellow who talked about the Costco chair and I feel like I overlooked some info that might be helpful. I am a student who enjoys gaming, so while I’m gaming I’m typically sitting normally, but when I’m studying I can tend to lean forward for a good chunk of time. However, in both instances I’ve found that when the tension drops I like to lean back, maybe stretch a little, and gather my thoughts. Hope any of this information was helpful, and I can’t wait to see your next project!

I need a “big and short”! I’m 400 lbs and am a musical producer so I seriously need to find a chair that works and doesn’t break the bank ($500 or less if possible). If no such thing exists then the closest to it! Thanks so much for any help! My suggestion would be a series just for obese people :)

For anyone in Europe I would recomend any chair from RH if they are availble in your country. It's a Swedish brand and offer a full 10 year warranty. The RH Logic 200/400 and the RH Mereo 220 are very good. Many adjustments, including an inflatable lumbar support. They are very exxpensive, sitting at about 1800 euro, 1900 USD.

Hi! I love your videos they have been super helpful narrowing down a chair. I was looking at the downix chair but am torn on whether it is going to be a good fit. I'm 5'5 130lbs (women) and need lumbar support, preferably with an attached foot rest and is roomy without being huge . I can't spend more than 450$ and was hoping for an white/grey/ Kaki color. If you can offer any recommendations that would be rad! I'm not a gamer but sit at a computer for 5-6hrs a day for school. My desk is 29in from the floor to the top where my computer sits. Most office chairs are not my style. No preferred brands or brands I don't like.

Your survey ended, so if you don't mind I will answer the questions here for your next episode in this series: 1. Theo 2. 5.8" (173cm) 3. 160lbs (72kg) 4. Cyprus 5. Normally / Cross-legged / Leg tucked under / Reclined with feet on floor / Reclined with legs on desk (I change position often) 6. 1 hour max (straight) but 12+ hours in total 7. No aggressive lumbar 8. Mesh / Fabric 9. 150 - 1500 (as long as the cost can be justified with better comfort / durability) 10. I rule out chairs without headrest and/or no arms. Leather chairs. 11. I am currently using the Ikea Markus. It is OK for me. I don't mind the fixed arms since they are at the right height for me, but I don't like that they block my legs a bit when I sit cross-legged. I would also prefer a bit softer seat (mesh?), and a bit deeper seat. The back is a bit too high for me. Lastly, it sometimes makes noises when I recline, so I would prefer something quieter / higher quality.

I'm looking into the Mavix M7 but I just need to know if this would work for me. I am 5'7 and I weigh 150lbs. Would this be a good fit for me or is that chair a little too tall?

Omg I need so much help. 5’2. Female, 170 lbs. foot rest tilting forward and back. I love lumbar support. Massive lower and lower back pain. Sacral pain. 5-8 hours at a time. Loved Herman aero. Prefer mesh with memory foam to elbow.

If you liked the Aeron...I recommend you get an Aeron. All other mesh chairs will feel pretty inferior compared to it, except for the Steelcase Karman! But the Karman doesn't hug you as well as the Aeron, but does give you LOTS more freedom of movement in your chair!

Hi, I'm 5'3 from Aus. In your last video on general chair recommendations, you recommended the NeueChair for shorter people. I noticed that you didn't bring up the NeueChair at all in this video - is it no longer recommended? Are these options better than the Neue?
@Ahnestly
@Ahnestly 2 жыл бұрын
Naw the Neue is still fantastic imho. I didn’t recommend it because of 2 reasons: weight factor, bc the mesh is loose and I wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending it to anyone over 140-150 lbs and 2 bc a lot of people wanted to tuck one leg or sit cross legged and the neue isn’t as good at that as say a cushion chair. Some of these budget cushion chairs have incredible cushions!!

Hey Nitin here from New Delhi ! Unfortunately we dont get too much variety here. A lot more of a price sensitive market here. Me iv been looking to buy a chair im 5’-6”, 56 kgs. My only options seem to be ikea chairs (liked the hattefjal; sat on it on 5 mins) steelcase series one and some lower tier duorests. Would be streching my budget those last 2. Any thoughts ?

I'm 5'0 and am very uncomfortable with all chairs I've sat on. The balls of my feet never touch the ground, and because I have a condition that makes circulation like a diabetics and foot swelling at my young age is a problem, it makes my feet so much more uncomfortable than other people my height. And I can't sit back because it will make me look like a child or lean back like I'm almost lying down.

I am searching high and low for an adequate chair at 70 years of age. I am 155 or 160 tall. I am getting shorter because of scoliosis y kyphosis. My problem is at the lumbar region. And I can’t afford an expensive chair but because of my back problem and a small area I am looking for a head rest and foldable armrest. Hopefully you can suggest something suitable for my health problem. Thank you! I am from Spain and need the cost price in euros.

Hello! Do you have any recommendations for chairs under 300 for someone who is 5'3" and likes to sit cross legged (in addition to sitting normally)? I'm really struggling. I looked at the Branch chairs but it seems like their lowest seat height will be slightly to tall for me. But I also don't want an ugly chair LOL😅😅Thanks so much

Hi, I'm super short, 4'8" with short legs. Currently using Aeron size A with 1" thick slipper to help with height. But my neck and shoulder hurts. maybe I'm not sitting right. Considering adding headrest to it. Can you help recommend which headrest should I get for such short person with small head like 12-14 years old? I only care about comfort. And also, is there a chair fits me better than Aeron size A fory petite size? 4'8" with about 100lbs only. Super light. TIA!

Did you ever find out? I realized none of the arms except Steelcase Gesture went narrow enough to position my elbow close to my body (11-13 inch inner width). But Gesture gave me low back pains, not as comfortable. I want the Embody seat and Gesture arms in one chair. Aeron size wasn’t adjustable at all. Still made for someone probably 5’2”. Not under 5’.

They’re 2 different beasts. The t50 offers a lot of adjustments at the price point, BUT the cushion isn’t nearly as good as the m90d. Also, the m90d can adjust the back height so you can get that perfect fit!

such a nice video and great work, may i ask you please if u have tried the noblechairs Hero or know anything about it since it seems as a good contestant to the Titan Evo or the 2020 Titan. Honestly, i would have gone with the Evo since it is the best gaming chair out there apparently but it doesn’t sell in my region and shipping is triple the price of the chair🫠. The noblechairs does sell locally tho.
