Kled has many contradictions in his lines. I think this does a good job of selling his insanity, because rather than just going all out random, like how some people write insanity, he has obsessions over certain things and lingers on various topics, constantly contradicting himself. For example, his lines on paranoia, courage and deep-frying courage.

"I should go for the deca-kill? Well alright." Lol love that voice line

"Holy shit, where are we?" was my first voiceline i heard from kled and i instantly fell in love with him

"I don't have trouble communicating. Words is just treacherous bastards!" I think that one of the best parts of Kled's voicework is the lack of proper grammar.

One thing I think needs to be mentioned is that Kled doesn't have a tragic backstory. Except for all the people constantly trespassing on his property. That is pretty sad that no one respects his authority or his belongings.

My favorite line is " they try to fry us with oil ,but courage cannot be fried" followed by "i hace deep- fried courage and rage!"

I always thought that Kled was based on Don Quijote , in an delusional old man thinking to be a knight mounted on a rather dumb donkey , that can explain the set of armor , maybe ...

I love Kled, he's the perfect mix of Sir Didymus, Yosemite Sam, and a crackhead. He's like every Florida man headline combined.

In the kleds champion page, everybody is enemy of him include himself. His only friend is Scaarl. Thats funny hahaha (Sy for my bad english).

Awww, i was expecting you to correlate his gamplay to his ideal. Literally everything in his kit, animations, style fits him...

So...some Yordles are embodiments of national values (or lack thereof). Some Yordles are embodiments of cultural ideals. But some Yordles are embodiments of local memes. ...I love it. (I also agree that Kled's voice work is awesome.) As a final point, I would like to reiterate my suggestion to analyze the differences between character design via visual depiction in visual media and character design via visual description in textual media.

I like the fact that he thinks that people who use big words are liars "I knew he was a liar, 'cause he used them big words." (when killing tahm kench) mainly because he does it himself, whenever he lies in his quotes he uses a long adjective "Woo, no sir, I ain't gonna' kill you and feed you to my lizard! Them's just... malicious rumours!" pretty cool

Personally this one is my favourite quote of Kled. "The sky is my roof, the open plains are my bed, and this lizard is the only company I need."

The best character in this whole damn game

So I remember when Kled came out I was still in the army and had the brilliant idea to ask my PL what a artillery vanguard would be like. After 10 minutes of push ups he explained it would involve catapulting live soldiers directly on top of the enemy.

When i first heard that he's not wearing medals, i instantly thought it would be pretty cool if he had home made half broken metals and at least a few of them, so when you began to describe how you think he should have some home made and maybe some stolen ones it felt very easy to imagine and pretty accurate

I've loved kled since i first heard his voice lines. Something i think is important to kled's design from the comical insanity, cartoonish music and dual personalities and aggressive rewarding play style are such a slam dunk ingame. Making him so much fun even 2 years later with barely any balance changes. His ult playing a bit of his themes melody and having 4 other friends charging into battle with you makes you feel like kled a character who inspires others after recklessly fighting the good fight.

They should have used skaarl to censor Kled. Just make skaarl squawk over any time Kled swears.

I think that you were absolutely right about Kled being a story time character that Noxians would talk about when times were grim or to have a good laugh. That was spot on What I disagree with is how you think he should look. I think that Kled is someone that has all of those military accolades and takes himself seriously. I think he would get up in the morning, put on his nearly well kept uniform, and go off to enforce his right to property. I think that he is supposed to be a joke on military culture as a whole and how they take their titles very seriously, because they earned them, but to someone looking in from the outside (new recruits or low ranking officers) they seem ridiculous. That coupled with the characteristic qualities of a drill sergeant and you got Kled.

I know this ship has sailed already (love your content btw, I wish I came across your work earlier), but still here I go with the nerdy stuff: I've been playing the champ for some time now, and while I agree with everything you've said, I also feel like the part where Kled goes completely mad after Skaarl leaves isn't entirely devoid of deep-ish stuff. Sure he curses and says nonsense and that partakes to the whole cartoon-ish vibe of the character, but I for one loved those lines where his voice almost breaks and he begs for Skaarl to come back-it goes something like "Skaaarl, come back buddy..." if I'm not mistaken. I mean the little guy has seen some shit, and I always saw his relationship with his pet/mount/friend as a means for him to cope with the trauma that goes hand-in-hand with the beliefs and values of a warmongering nation (all the more so that he's been around for so long, and actually "embodies" Noxus in a way).

Do a "what's the deal" but with skins, the ones you think may be worhwhile of a video of course :)

Despite being my most favourite champ, the only thing I hate about Kled is his gameplay since he is single-targeted, lack of CC, and no retreat option. Still, he's a god-tier champ in terms of design and he has the best voicelines in the game.

Fun Fact: the latino voice of Kled is the same voice actor as Bender from Futurama. Their voices are the same in all way and it makes a lot of sense because of the personalities they both have.

Slavic cultures have "skrzaty" which translates to something between dwarf and fairy doing the same things as goblins in nordic cultures

The best thing about Kled is that he is thematically made to be *fun.* League has a lot of serious (mabye even Edgy) champs or fun champs but with serious stories (like Reworked Mundo), while Kled is litterally this nutjob of a warrior who's a total Psyco and doesn't give a shit about anything, and it's all executed perfectly even by the sound and gameplay of the champion; Kled is the Duke Nukem of League, a being of pure badassness and with a thirst for unneeded violence, litterally charging his team to victory in the most epic way possible. 10/10 champ, his theme *ROCKS!*

I have watched your channel for a while now and I don't think I have ever seen a video on your channel or another which analyses the spell costs from a design/lore/gameplay perspective. By spell costs, I mean the fact that some characters use mana (i.e. Ryze), other use energy (Shen), while other only use cool downs (Katarina). I think it would be cool to look at how this is both fleshed out as a mechanic but also from a design perspective.

oh this is sooo good. Kled was the character that got me back on league since Braum and he is one (if no THE ONE) of my favorites. I just love his characterization, his theme and his voice lines are soooo good. I also i like joke with my friends about being someone who gets angry easy and who screams and curses because i get trolled frecuently so i feel a weird kind of bonding with him

28:41 What's also great about this line is that it does show somewhat that he recognizes he is in some danger, there's a bit of realization of that where his voice goes from blind rage cursing, into a deeper, threatening "I ain't backing down!". Makes me wonder more about what particular moment, maybe whilst he was young, caused him to take this hard stance of never backing down.

You can't just spend a whole part of the video praising the voice acting and never mention the actor! Kled is voiced by Spike Spencer, who also voiced Wukong. Needless to say this is his stronger performance of the two.

I wish you used to official league page of Kled. His enemy list is everyone including himself but has skarrl as a friend.

You are one of the most intellectual content creators this platform has to offer and I love how you don't just scratch the surface of a design but you examine every aspect related to it. But, just something I have noticed myself in your content is that you are either kind of repeating yourself in the sense that your criticism tends to follow a certain pattern and the way you express yourself is predictable. Plus,in my eyes you seem overly critical, which I do not find particularly bad I mean the series itself is finding the issue with a character design but a complement to a design would be nice because your would come of more unbiased and with an objective thinking. Lastly, I am so sorry for writing an essay in the comment section, but I believe that you have immense potential in this platform you just have to keep in mind the entertaining part of it. Meaning, a 30 minute video is a bit much in my opinion. Maybe you just lose yourself in talking and over analysing something but be wary of going on and on and on about a single detail. It would be better if you stated an observation/criticism e.t.c and then elaborated on it thus having a more organised way of expressing yourself. Just some minor details I noticed and wanted to bring to your attention. Keep on the good work.

It's alittle disappointing because alot of people will never get the full experience of Kled as a joke, but what he really represents is an overwhelmingly exaggerated version of a rural Southern American. Every stereotype that's ever existed here is visible in Kled, and its absolutely amazing.

Kled's voice actor sounds to me like he is channeling Sam Kinison in rant mode.

If the story was told from the perspective of the soldiers fighting Kled, it would be extremely gory and terrifying. A tiny yordle with a giant halberd hacking people into bloody chunks mixed with screams of "THAT STUPID LIZARD JUST WON'T DIE!"
