As a Holland, Michigan based musician I have to point out that not only is the park theatre historic and beautiful, but it’s a nonprofit music venue that hosts open mics and all sorts of great local musicians. It’s really the central hub of the music community here in Holland and the money from the sale of the Park Theatre pedal has helped provide an amazing venue for all kinds of self expression and creativity

There's so much timbral range on the "depth" control of a Fuzzrite it oculd have been made to sound a lot more similar to the Mojo Hand counterpart, at least in terms of frequency response. You can get an absurd amount of low-mid out of those things, and the middle of the control range gets into this weird, spitty, broken kind of sound that reminds me a bit of some of the Devi Ever pedals. IIRC it's a pretty unusual design for a fuzz circuit, and nothing else really sounds quite like it. Especially if you stack it with another fuzz.

I own a 1966 Gibson GA-15RVT (also called Gibson Explorer) and it is a very cool amp. The reverb is very cavernous and works in an odd way. If you plug into the amp, turn down the volume (loudness) and crank up the reverb all the way, you get this weird 100% wet distorted reverb. If I am not mistaken, it is a tube driven spring reverb.

Wow, that RVT pedal! And the prices for their pedals are very buyer friendly. Somehow all the Australia bands I know, love and have followed since the 80s I had completely missed Sandpit. The very little I've listened to so far reminds me a lot of Seam from the US. Josh, Nick (and world) I'd like you all to check out "Slow Train to a Comfy Jail" from the album Come Across by Sydney, Australia's Jamie Hutchings and his band Bluebottle Kiss (now defunct. Jamie, however has not stopped releasing quality music under his own name and another band he fronts called Infinity Broke and other projects). Please, please, please give him a listen. Incredible songwriter with stacks of great songs performed that will give you the feels with hooks, intensity and more. Thanks for the down low on Mojo Hand.

Yourube is a fantastic marketing tool. Still i am the one looking for content. It used to be really hard to find good demos. Early youtube demos weren't great but with people like ola and josh they manage in just a few minutes to give you an understanding of how equipment works, sounds and it's intended purpose which adds a lot more context to just sound clips. So i'm happy to give my money where there's quality. Same goes for orher hobbies like retrogaming and collecting comic books. Brad is such a great guy (never met him in person). Tone Factor was my go to online pedal store. I have three mojo hand pedals: Nebula phaser (seriously my favorite phase to this day), Huckleberry fuzz, and 442 envelope filter. Thanks for showing off some of his pedals.

I absolutely love the sound of that one ton bee. May be my next fuzz. I wonder how it sounds through a fender amp!

Massive !!! I had a Twin Reverb for a while and it shook the walls. Check out their Other fuzz pedals. They are all amazing. They do Fuzz right.

Sandpit are amazing. Hearing them makes me want to listen to tracks like Splat! by Bailterspace, early Magic Dirt, Ovlov, Underground Lovers, Dinosaur & Electr-o-pura era Yo La.... I could go on!

Los from years back would list the gear used and even the recording equipment. I remember reading the line notes of early Beatles records from my mom's collection. By the way she is responsible for my live of music. She had everything from big band, jazz, crooners, country, symphonies, rock and even recordings of Broadway musicals. I'm grateful to her for broadening my musical palate.

Josh made quite the move with doing these videos, finding a way to provide a substantial service to the music community.I don't know anyone who plays, of any generation or genre, that isn't familiar. You can argue the necessity of JHS as a pedal manufacturer( among now so many), but you can't really argue with their influence or impact, anymore.

Great episode!! Re Sandpit - Stephanie Ashworth (bass) went on to join Something For Kate who had some fairly big indie level success in Australia back when bands could still do that! They’ve got so many great albums but my favourite has to be “Elsewhere For 8 Minutes”. I think you’ll like it if you’re into Sandpit.

Alternative viewpoint: Sandpit were bloody amazing and Something For Kate wildly overrated; I never could fathom why Stephanie made that switch.

Great video, Josh! Have to find out where to get these Mojo Hand pedals here in Australia...they would be about twice the price, I guess (after your presentation...).

Thanks, as usual, for the Record Time. And, as usual, I find your taste in music impeccable good sir. I’m on my second helping of this album today.

Damn, that Fuzzrite is indeed annoying. But the One Ton Bee is anything but a box of bees. Love it.

Thanks for playing the Mossrite Fuzzrite on this video. It was my first pedal in probably '69. I found it fun and cool but irritating so I traded it to somebody for something. I don't want it back but it was fun to hear it. I remember that sounded somewhat less irritating through a Sears 1466 bass amp that I borrowed from a friend. Probably a roll off of the highs compared to a silver face Band Master. this was great video segment in a great series. Rock on Dude man.

Me at 5:05 on the video: “yeah fine the Crosstown sounds ok and all” Me at 5:15 on the video: “WHERE IS MY MASTERCARD I NEED THREE OF THESE CROSSTOWN PEDALS AND I NEED THEM SENT OVERNIGHT” 😂 That’s some goooooood fuzz

Definitely agree with disclosing the gear used: it’s like an academic work-site the sources. Music is a productive discourse.

I also love when bands put their gear on the back of the record. I have a music review site you might like that is exclusively run by musicians. We cover a lot of unsigned and local bands and do a complete rig run down on their recording process. If you search my name, Ada Wofford, and My Little Underground it should pop up.

Sorry JHS, I traded my double barrel (awesome pedal by the way) for the Mojo Hand FX Odessa. It is by far my favorite OD pedal that I have ever played, and I've played a fair few.

Josh - would you consider doing an episode on VFE Pedals? Peter Rutter is an awesome guy - a teacher who is super passionate about teaching the youth about technology and electrical engineering and high quality sound, and he’s bounced in and out of the effects game due to family and work demands. His stuff is super versatile and often somewhat experimental but ultimately all of it sounds awesome. I believe he’s working on revamping his line now.
