What's The Difference Between a 14€ and a 140€ Knife? [4K]

In todays video we take a look at two different knives, one 10x more expensive than the other, in order to figure out what the differences are and who these knives are for.

Very good review on two completely different knives Tobis. I believe you get what you pay for however each has it’s own purpose. After a couple of mishaps I prefer some semblance of a lock blade. Look forward to your next video.

I'll take the Victorinox over the Lionsteel any day of the week. Quality, design, look, feel, and functionality are unsurpassed on the good old SAKs, especially the Alox series. I have literally had hundreds of pocket knives pass through my hands, have owned and still own 1500$ customs and I've yet to find one that comes even close to the Victorinox in terms of value for money. Plus, you can use the living daylights out of this folder and never worry about it because it's 40$!

The Victorinox blade steel is: X55CrMo14, the spring steel is: X20Cr13 and the tool steel is: X39Cr13.

I have bigger, badder, pricier knives, but I love the look, feel and simple functionality of my Victorinox Pioneer Alox. Did I mention loving the price? I think this type of comparative review is very helpful. Most of us must determine the sweet spot - when measuring quality, features and price. Keep them coming TT.

I enjoy a lot your videos. Lionsteel had isues with steel heat treatment and quality. From 5 lionsteel I recived 3 with problems: an M4 , and 2 Barlow.

Yeah I have heard of those problems. I am not that much of a fan of their M390 myself. I haven't had any issues on my M4, but it has been rather terrible with my barlow and TRE.

Danke! Das Roundhead ist aus der ersten Produktionsserie. Damals gab es die anderen noch nicht. Ich würde das Roundhead auch wieder nehmen, aber habe schon oft darüber nachgedacht, auch die Anderen (insb das Dom) auszuprobieren.

The CRK Sebenza is perhaps the shining example of an expensive knife that collectors love and non-collectors would never understand. Well I guess that's true about any of their knives but the Sebenza line is their most notable knife.

Unfortunately if I spend more than 150 bucks on a knife I might have 6 months max before I lose it but my 50 dollar civivi I've had for like 5 years now lol

Lion steel = 7 times the cutting for 10 times the price. Although I have the thrill and it’s more lice 3 times the cutting power for 14 times the price!

The facts,,,, yesterday, I cut up 4 shoe boxes, with my SAK Hiker, and afterwards , the blade was not sharp... Last year, I cut up the total cardboard packaging from 2 sofa's, and had a massive pile of cardboard, at the end, using a VG10 Spyderco Delica,,,. (dozens and dozens of cuts) and afterwards, the blade was still fairly sharp,, !! So,,, what do I carry, these days, ??.. A SAK farmer (alox), or my Hiker, in my pocket, and in the car, I keep a "hard use" knife, (PM2, etc.)... The SAK blade steel, is the softest, worst edge retention steel, I have ever come across, but I still like carrying the knives, and sharpening the blade, when I get home,, !!!....
