Very nice work here. I appreciate your thoughts on the unsprung ones. But definitely a good idea to get more intense parts for more intense treatment, guys.

basically the springs allow you to dump the clutch and still have give but they wont affect anything during a normal clutch slip

nice explanation. I got a stage 2 to replace my oem clutch on my modified 2014 camaro ss 510rwhp.

How's that holding up for you now?
@AutoBodyEverything5 жыл бұрын
Does the material on a stage four or five clutch ware out faster due to gradual engagement or by allowing slip for a smooth engagement when getting into first? Because we won’t always dump the clutch...

Would either a stage 2 or stage 3 clutch be beneficial to someone that likes to pull out in 2nd gear a lot? Doing this in normal OEM clutches would cause a lot of extra wear I imagine

I just put a stage 3 6 puck copper ceramic clutch setup in my 04 Tiburon. Instead of sticking with that crappy dual mass flywheel I opted for a single mass conversion with a chromoly race lite single mass flywheel which weighs about 13 pounds compared to the 30 to 35 pound dual mass flywheel, which I hated with a fiery red passion, but the weight drop in the centrifugal area of the transmission truly made such a difference that it was shocking. I knew it would be a difference but wasn't aware it would be that much it sounds up so much more aggressive now! But the 6 puck clutch disc I bought was "sprung" which means it has springs like the oem,mind you there were 6 instead of 4 and they were much more rigid than oem, just wanted to point out that allot of times you have a choice in "sprung" or " rigid" with most of the more prominent discs!

I think a stage 4 with no spring is not good for a daily streetcar....it will hurt the gearbox at really low speeds........the only way to prevent that from happening is to keep revving like an idiot everytime you try to park the car

derafdrummer94 I have the one with no springs haha it’s good for my daily driving so far just sucks in reverse

I have the xtd stage 4 and i dont have to rev that high it goes at 2,000 rpms and on hills 2,500 i wish i knew about the springs but i had an ACT clutch kit and it was much more harder to press but to engage almost the same

My stage 4 xtd slipped badly and the pressure plate was weak and crap pedal but yeah it’s either on or off so I told xtd and they sent me a Kevlar disc and I used oem pressure plate and that was better but still slipped now and then

@st3v3nb9155 жыл бұрын
Fcking Sesh yeah it’s not bad at all I’ve had mine for a while already only difference about a stage clutch is that you can’t let it go quick or it’ll burn tire or stall , you have to give it a little more gas then the usual! Get it!!

Ok so here’s a question for you so I bought my are last May and right off the back the clutch was bad I’m talking metal to metal bad. I put a new oem clutch in at 173xxx miles just today not even a year later I’m at 205101 miles and it’s now slipping. NO IM NOT STUPID AND I DO KNOW HOW TO DRIVE A MANUAL this is my 4 manual that I have owned but my firs front wheel drive manual. My car is all stock but aftermarket air filter yes just the filter it’s a cold air filter and the muffler not the whole exhaust. So with my clutch already starting to slip and I do race a lot of other stock 4 bangers almost every Friday night, what clutch stage should I put into my daily/family car. Been driving manuals for a good 6 years now from trucks to cars and truck with loaded trailers. Personally I say a stage 2 but I don’t want to order one and be wrong

man do you know why higher end clutched are "pucked" vs a disc? never understood why it was better
@tjgregg64774 жыл бұрын
With the pucks it lessens the area that the pressure plate is clamping therefore increase the clamping force

@Vast_drums6 жыл бұрын
Yea I’d say so, stage two is just fine. But stage 3 is ok as well just Incase you end up nodding it more. I mean at that point it’s like extra insurance that the clutch won’t be close to its hp and tq limits cause all stages have a hp and tq recomended limit

HELP OK, I ordered a XTD Stage 3 6 Puck clutch off eBay, for my '93 Mazda B2200, I have not installed it yet because I am doing a Kia engine swap next week. I use this little pickup as my daily driver, I do not race, hot rod around or anything. I live out in the country and this is just my little farm pickup. I though the stage 3 clutch would be better because it said it handles more torque and etc. I though it would be nice for pulling a little trailer and etc. I'm now really thinking I should send this clutch back and get a stage 1 clutch. Anyone have any ideas?
@tjgregg64774 жыл бұрын
The higher stages are more for more intense horse power and harder/harsher driving if your truck isn't built enough for a stage 3I wouldn't recommend it because it can wreak havoc on your drive train!
