You can cut the side of the box that has the "saw" cutter on it. Glue it to a ruler edge and it tears your paper beautifully!!!

Thank you SO much for sharing and explaining…I have the same problem with finding deli but I can’t buy from Amazon anymore 😥 after the brexit, because of taxes and etc..SO it have been crazy expensive..very sadly because I use to buy glue and everything else because in my small country we don’t have craft supplies 😕 But a huge thanks for sharing 👍🙂 Tina 👩🏻‍🎨 Denmark 🇩🇰

US can buy deli wrap in Sam’s and Costco. Grocery stores sell all the rest.

Thank you Nina, this was very informative. we have the same problems getting those papers in Switzerland. Freezer-paper helps also with intricate die-cuts, that are difficult to peel out. You put a sheet between the die and the paper, plastic side towards the die. Have a nice day, and stay safe!

I don't know which between the freezer paper and the drying sheets is cheeper...Thanks for you very informative video as we haven't deli paper in France or very expensive on amazon ...and tempted to use the wrong paper. Thank you for such a clear review of these. References to 'freezer paper' used to leave me bewildered/frustrated. Here in Oz, I have an old 'micro crisp' paper roll which looks like your darker freezer paper - being heavy paper with one shiney side, but have not tried it in craft. I have 'freezer' plastic wrap. Parchment I already guessed was like our baking paper and we have waxed paper. Waxed paper is not for the oven - in childhood (before gladwrap) it was used to wrap up your sandwiches.

Thanks for the information, Nina. I buy a roll of wallpaper lining paper for a £1 (at Poundland) and use that as drop paper. It lasts ages, is very effective for catching mess and is, of course, incredible cheap.

Nina - like all the comments, this video is really useful. I use wax paper for painting/block printing on silk. Iron it onto the underside of silk and it is a brilliant stabiliser.

Really helpful. As I'm in Australia I think the Wax Paper is the same as our Greaseproof paper. Baking paper is readily available but haven't looked for freezer paper nor deli paper.

This is an excellent video. They certainly like to complicate paper in different countries lol. Grease proof paper (also known as parchment paper) in Australia is a lot thinner & has less silicon than Baking paper. It’s like a cross between tracing paper, tissue paper & Baking paper. Works well for Gelli prints & collage though as a fairly transparent medium. Baking paper acts more like waxed paper here. And it’s super expensive to buy Deli paper here as it gets imported from the US. Can’t find freezer paper either.../sigh

Hi. In my part of oz we referred to wax paper as grease proof paper. Parchment being more like baking paper. No freezer paper but I have freezer plastic wrap.

Thank you for the information!! The TWO questions I still want an answer to are: 1)Which SIDE of the deli paper goes face DOWN on the gelli printer -the WAXED side or the UNWAXED side? 2) Which side of the deli paper goes on the OUTSIDE of handmade envelopes for stamping? Waxed or UNwaxed side? If I get these answers I can be on my way and not waste time in unnecessary trial and error.

I'm here because I need to find thick silcone/teflon paper for non stick paint projects, stencil masks, & avoid the dreaded vinyl adhesive adhesion on top of clear coats. Mailing labels work but need something bigger, or longer on a roll. Parchment is always too thin, & not sure on the different butcher papers. Teflon/wax coated paper is the goal.🙂 Probably meant silcone or teflon coating.

I watched this because I was interested in using freezer paper in crafts and I've not heard of it before. It's not stocked in Australian supermarkets, just in small sheets in craft stores and, as you mentioned, is expensive. Interestingly, what you showed as 'deli paper' isn't at all like what delis here wrap deli goods in. Here deli paper is thinly plastic coated on one side.... looks just like freezer paper. I think I just found a free source of freezer paper... thanks.

Modern clingfilm in the UK has much less plasticizer in its formulation (for health reasons) so that's why it doesn't work for ironing onto napkins.

Hi Nina, through my years of research I have found that most things have different configurations in the US and EU (and UK) because there are much more stringent laws for protection of the consumers and environment impact etc in the EU. For example many substances which are found harmful or potentially harmful to humans are not included in our cosmetics, medicines, food etc. But many of them are still allowed in the US. For example, a high-end international cosmetic brand has the exact same products in both continents but the composition and ingredients are slightly different because those materials are not allowed here. It is also more expensive here probably coz the healthier ingredients are not as cost-effective for the manufacturers! I was very surprised and upset when I first found out many years ago but lobbying, pricing and politics play a huge role there and our American friends should be made aware. Hopefully, they will change their laws in the coming years to better protect their citizens. God bless

While exploring how to make stencil for fabrics, freezer paper was often used. In my country i could not find freezer paper but from the explanation and all, it reminds me on the paper butchers use here to pack your meat in. If enough crumpled you can start tearing the paper and clear thin cling film/plastic bag film apart. It's that it? Would hate to plasticize my shirt if it is the wrong paper type. :) Gonna ask for sheet or two from the meat shop. :)

It sounds very similar. You could always test it on a piece of scrap fabric or an old T shirt first. Hope it works!

What about greaseproof paper ?. I always thought greaseproof paper was parchment paper. I thought that Americans just called greaseproof paper, parchment paper but I guess not. Is greaseproof paper different than oven paper ?. And I’ve never heard of freezer paper never even seen it around in the shops. I couldn’t even find parchment paper in any shops they said that greaseproof paper was the same thing just a different name but I’m still not sure.
