Now Im curious what other Rankin Bass specials have these really weird and random changes. I know Frosty has June Foray originally voicing Karen with her being redubbed to the current voice early in it's life.

In Rudolph, in 1965 the year after Rudolph came out, we’re a couple of misfits was replaced by a whole new song called fame and fortune. He did a video on it a few days ago

I wonder if Mickey Rooney couldn’t redo the line for Waddles because he was doing The Fox and the Hound at the time. Interesting theory don’t you agree Lane?

Now just a minute; the lines for Waddles were used from a 1981 broadcast in the video, but that doesn't mean that's when they were redubbed. Keep in mind the video said, "at some point during the late 70's, early 80's".

@@WillCWilson yeah around the time he was doing The Fox and the Hound. Keep in mind back then it took like three to four years to make an animated film.
