It’s supposed to have the red Toyota coolant in it. I have the same engine, just did the timing belt at 394k. Right after original alternator died. Still going 50-70miles daily to work and back. Wife hates it but hey I don’t have any payments.

This is currently my commuter car. Had to do water pump/timing belt and thermostat on so far. But hell it has 343K miles on it. Not bad lol

I did these job twice and you have way more room if you remove the air filter and whole air filter box

If you ever work on a thunderbird sc (89-95) most nonstart issues (or starts and dies) will be either the DIS cap or the crank trigger. ( The crank trigger tends to goto into a zombie state, so it will work for a bit then just die.... then work again for a bit.)

1mzfe engine? i remember when i changed my thermostate on my 98 Avalon XLS the water pump went out then the two coolant sensors had to be changed cause it kept over heating then i had to change radiator cap because water was leaking out an i thought it was the water pump so it got changed again lol . overall good engine if you keep up with maintainence

When you don't do a diagnosis and just do the job the customer wanted you to do... and it doesn't fix their problem, how do you handle them when they don't want to pay you?

Uh, you should have put up a disclaimer form and have them sign it before touching their car

I always disclose to them before work is done that not letting me diagnose the vehicle means that you may end up wasting your money. Ask for payment up front.

Those AutoZone thermostats are complete garbage. You could have paid a few bucks more for OEM. You clearly can see the difference in quality between the two.
