On August 21st of 2023, American sprint sensation Sha’Carri Richardson and Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson raced over the women’s 100-meter final at the World Athletics Championships in Budapest. This was one of the rare moments the two sprint prodigies were meeting on a big stage. And even though the event was highly anticipated with many fans rooting for Jackson, Richardson unleashed intense strength and blazed through the track to win the race with a world-leading time of 10.65 seconds. This was a huge defeat to Jackson who appeared the favorite to win the race. But just about a month after the disappointing defeat, Jackson has released a sweet revenge to Richardson, grabbing the bragging rights over the women’s 100 meters, right here in Eugene.

Sha'Carri just won the world champs, that's the ultimate bragging rights in 100. Shericka got the 200 world champs, that's her ultimate bragging rights. Anything outside of the top calendar events depends on form, motivation, etc. Please don't discount what Sha'Carri did this year and give the mantle to Shericka, just cas of one event. Both are awesome.

Personally i feel the diamond league champion holds more weight than the world champion, because its the best of the season over a series of meets, and the world championship is just 1 race. Or they are just named improperly, to me the best is who won the most in series of races not just the person that won that 1 race, I am American, so im not saying this to show favorites because Sherika is the Diamond league champion and Richardson is the world champion.

Why some of y'all argue like you have no sense. If the end of season race meant nothing then why compete in it. Records were broken yeah, People made a lot of money yeah. Sherika came away with $60k plus 2 titles sha'carri came away with chump change as did a lot of others so dont disregard the diamond league like it means nothing. Food For Thought: 2023 Honesty and integrity goes a long. Sha Carri had a wonderful season and won Golds and that’s wonderful. Now, if Shericka was an American folks wouldn’t have underrated her. The comments would be in her favor Double Double Diamond league 60K and the second fastest time in the world for the 200m.Silver in the 100mGold in the 200m, silver in relay….. Next year it’s going to be epic !!! Last year Abby Steiner medaled only the relays and Jamaica had a sweep and missed out on the Gold.The media went wild about the relay and forgetting about the sweep. It’s still commendable Shericka and SFP medaled. At the end of world championships the medals count is important note USA #1 and an island the size of Connecticut placed 3 out of 200 countries that participated. The Jamaican flair makes the world championships exciting
