Personally speaking, your videos and content have helped me countless times over the last year. I found your channel searching for something differently entirely and have repeatedly binge watched most of them ever since. We all suffer with imposter syndrome at some point, in this case, explore the new ideas and I’m sure it will be as engaging as the current work. Look forward it.

I suffer from imposter syndrome in just about anything I do, so I know it probably won’t make much difference when I tell you your content has been exceptional. But it’s true. Your content, teaching style and knowledge is right up there with the best photographers on KZfaq in my opinion. So I’d just like to take this opportunity to say thanks, and I’m looking forward to what comes next.

Your channel by far has been the best I've experienced when it came to actually teaching the subject of photography. Whenever you say in a video "you're probably thinking..." - I WAS THINKING EXACTLY THAT! Your videos are really focused on the user and anyone who watches them can feel it right away. There's so much more content to create that isn't food related, especially product photography for e-comm. There are a lot of new small businesses and home businesses that rely on online sales and photography is the key to it all. Stay.

One of the greatest qualities of a teacher is, the ability to explain and breakdown complex topics or ideas to the bearest minimum, and that's what you do all the time. I subscribed to your channel because you always deliver and your contents are mind-blowing awesome. I am not a food photographer but I have seen most of the videos on how to light food and reflective surfaces. Keep up the good work, we will transition with you and consume the good contents you have coming our way. Thanks

I just need to let you know that most of the things that I know about photography in general are because of you, and your channel. And it's not about your topics, it's about the creativy that you have to explain and teach. I know, I'm a food photographer looking for photography videos to keep myself learning, but that dosen't mean that people like me are going to stop watching your channel, and it's because you're more than this! You're like a lens on a camera, you teach us to see and understand in an artistic way our world. And that's fantastic!

Many bloggers start off in a niche and expand. That's why many decide to change their blogger/website name to their actual name. Their name reflects that the channel encompasses their interests. You do you! Your unique essence is what matters. If it doesn't work for some, they can leave and it's alright. Others will come that are aligned. I follow you for the clarity and love behind your videos. I've learned so much and look forward to your videos about storytelling, art development, and gear. I recently found your channel, while in the process of downsizing and simplifying my small unused home studio. Your examples and techniques for explaining the ability to see light go way beyond food. Many years ago, I was a professional photographer who came to a similar crossroad. Too many studio portraits and too many weddings. Life happened and other directions appeared. I am happy to say that through out my journey, photography has alway allowed me to explore other venues: landscape, street, macro, still life and yes, people again. I agree with Hijabs and Aprons, "You do you!" and I will be there watching.

I feel like we all deal with imposter syndrome at time..and although you don’t do this on a commercial level, you are 100% a creative professional. The quality of work and videos you produce are top notch. I think you should expand into more video topics but please don’t stop providing value in this niche! You deserve the recognition for your talent as a photographer not just in the food niche - but as a creative. I’ve come across plenty of people in the “commercial” space that still don’t know what they’re doing.

i love your videos, even as a professional designer they give a ton of inspiration and reminders of forgotten knowledge :D, our brains can only hold so much, watching your videos opens op for that material again :), your videos are so well level, well crafted, approachable and thought through, your approach to teaching and explaining complex theories is refreshing, detailed but not overly detailed and dictating, i think this is what you should pin as your core, don't think too much about what you are shooting or what your "should" be shooting, stories are everywhere and in everything, i would love to see your approach to story telling, light, colors etc. on portraits (how to feel the persons life not just light), landscape, portraits in nature, still life setups, cover shots, family portraits, architecture, derelict industrial architecture, animals, sports, airplanes, cars... you name it, photography is not about one theme or subject but the story behind all of them ;D... and remember Bob Ross, there are only happy mistakes ;D, but seriously allow yourself to experiment and hopefully we can be part of that journey :)... thanks again for all your hard work.

Keep at it. Although most of your videos were about food photography i used what i learnt from you in product photography and it helped alot with my clients. The way i see it you used food as a medium to teach which is brilliant. Theres no reason not to move on to another subject as long as you keep going with the way you teach. I think personally after watching photography heavyweights on youtube on whatever subject you have to be the greatest teacher out. If anything my dude show us lighting on something else just dont turn into the typical gear reviewer because youtube is overly saturated with them. In saying that i would definitely be keen on seeing some reviews by you and how you it works in your view with your own examples. Cheers. Keep it up

I found your channel while looking for different pov about creative photography. Although you talk about food, as you said, every tip you share here applies to other niches as well. As I was going through your videos, I had this feeling that you excels at going through technical stuff and make us think what really matters as a creative process, which is why I subscribed in the first place. So if i could give my 2cents here, why not extend what you already build? For example, motivated light. You explained it to us, but why not take outside examples and take lessons from those movies/series/photos, etc. Your channel is awesome Brandon, keep the good work and thanks for sharing it with us. I'll always support your ideias the best i can :)

I think I love that you’re not working with brands, I don’t want that info I just want the teacher to teach me photography as an art. I understand I may be alone here which makes me sad. You’re an artist, and I learn how to hone my food photography art through your teaching. Also it feels like you’re right next to me teaching in a way no one has taught me before. do what ever you feel like! There are loads of DIYers that have chanels who arent pro in their field, yet they teach with what they know. Same with your videos, I tried loads of your technics and they helped me, and yeah I am a paid foodphotographer. just because you dont gain money doesnt mean you cant share knowledge keep it up! I like it!

Story telling is a topic that a lot of people talk about already and cover so well, but I'm looking forward to providing my own perspective on it and sharing it with my audience. I just hope I can do it justice. Thank you Kaimer for your support, I really appreciate it!

I never viewed your channel as a food photography channel; it was always lighting. Based on this video it sounds like you took your experience from shooting weddings and your passion for teaching and used food as an always available subject when teaching - hence coming off a "food photography" channel to some. Although you may feel like an impostor, maybe the only question left to ask is: Great!, I've seen all the videos, can you get a job shooting food? Then you can answer the questions the subscribers ask that make you feel like an impostor. Someone you know, or a fan/sub can shoot a BTS for you on set and you can have video(s) for the channel to answer questions based on your experience; and if your journey through video/photo translates from shooting weddings to > teaching with food to > paid food shoot. Thank You.

I came to your channel because of food photography, but then I realized that the true value of your content wasn't food but lighting. I love the way you explain things, and I'll continue following you because I know you'll share good stuff. Btw, I thought you were a commercial food photographer. Can I ask you what's your field or what type of photography you do professionally?

Thanks Jennifer! I was a wedding photographer, but then decided to switch to content creation and building an online business with educational videos. I still do do and learn photography, but they're mostly personal projects for the purposes of education.

Dude just keep doin whatever you do ,because u do it well. And about that fraud , mate , I swear to god I never seen a KZfaqr say that truth , you are either a photographer or a youtuber. How the hack would you have time for both ? So to add 1 more thing : I think a niche it is actually better but then this goes back to my first sentence: do what feels right to you. I thought I will never say this but you are my number 1 youtuber from now on . Cheers !

I appreciate your honesty! I don't think you're a fraud at all but I do think you need to have some passion to continue doing this or you'll just continue to have mental and creative blocks. I'd love to see more about your story telling and other aspects of video making. You may lose some followers, but that's okay. You still have a lot of value to the youtube world and photography/videography.

So many channels on yt about photagraphy is all the same. They teach the basics over and over again. I found your channel and I felt like I could learn things that would lift my level of photagraphy with lighting to the very next level and beyond. So don't feel like a fraud! Teach what you know and you will help so many people improve!

I understand where you're coming and how it definitely makes you feel uncomfortable. With that said, how about creating more content and expanding more on the topic of lighting outside of Food Photography? I've recently found your channel and in my case, I've learned how to light my subjects and not my dinner. I think you're great at teaching both artistically and 'factually'. We would definitely need a teacher like you and help us improve our lighting skills :")

Thank you Mclovin Peter! Expanding my lighting tutorials into other genres is definitely a possibility and will consider it. At this point, however, it'll be quite a lot of experimenting with different ideas to later get my footing with this channel. But thank you so much for supporting my channel and I appreciate the compliment!
