Another factor affecting values is availability,eg,when a government releases an obsolete model onto the surplus market, the ak bayonets are a prime example,in the uk they went from £100 plus,to £15 virtually overnight.

Nice French bayonet! Mine unfortunately doesn’t have partings on the blade… needs a frog too! Awesome info…

I have German dress bayonet ( WW1 /WW2 ) with the maker mark of Ferd. Dahmann Solingen . I can't find any reference to this maker in Soligen anywhere ? Any idea on that so I can get a price on what its worth ? . Excellent video many thanks.

If you are on instagram, I'm happy to help you identify what you have if you like. I know how daunting it can be when you inherit a collection you can't keep

@pointynotsharp8436 ok ill look you up... But from the research I've done... I have two tropical bayonets circa 1890 lancastashire engineers....but they have different fittings....a traditional Malay Kris....M1 bayonet and what I believe to be a Martini Henry bayonet....at first I thought it was black powder musket one.....but saw a story on Martini henry's and how they have a locking ring.... I think the Kris should stay with the fam...and its very corroded.....but the rest won't be a loss.....
