I use 10 oz currently. But the 16 for training makes more sense.I carry 2 pair of 10oz in the cargo space of my car.On rare occasion I have co-worker confrontations on the construction job site.I intervene and supply them with gloves for after work hours to settle their disputes in a safer environment lol.

I know that gloves can make you think you are protected and that allows you to hit harder making you more likely to be injured when punching. My question is, is there a correlation between glove weight and injuries? The thought here is that boxers usually end up with more hand injuries than MMA fighter, which drops even further in bare-knuckle due to the idea that you can hit harder because you won't hurt yourself as much with more padding. I would assume that the lightest with the least padding for your hand would be the most damaging but then you hit harder if you have more padding which means the heaviest should be at greater odds of injuries. P.S. I hope you all have a fantastic day and stay safe.

That’s why you wrap your hands first

@@karanlal4112 these studies were performed on professionals, people who know to wrap their hands. Also bare-knuckle boxers are not allowed to wrap their knuckles which is the main place of contact and injury in their sport.

You need all sizes, you should have a pair of light gloves , a pair for sparring…. I collect gloves and just switch out , keeps it fun, fun is good, plus look good, feel good, perform better! 8, 10-12s for technique (mitt work) 14-16 when you have sore hands or doing partner work drills, sparring …. When you train with really heavy gloves you don’t become fast, you just develop bad habits like dropping the hand after a jab, or falling over….. when you have heavy gloves and you lunch slow, it can be discouraging and make you not want to come back to work out, your work out gear should inspire you to work out! You should look 👀 at your gloves and shoes and wraps and can’t wait to get them on for the next day of schooling!
