Who message who first doesn't really matter at all, people reach out to companies hoping for cooperation all the time. Thing that does matter is if the company paid you to make the video or if they send the package to you for free or give you some other monetary gains from doing it or did you actually spend your own money just for fun. Also as you said you reach out to them, so they most certainly know who you are and how much audience your channel brings. So why on earth should we trust that the package they send to you would represent the typical package they send to people who are not well known or famous. Just trust me bro, everyone gets the same deal whether they bring us new customers or not?

So, I was disappointed with the original video because it felt like an obvious undisclosed advertisement and this move I don't think helps. Did you delete original video and reuploaded because you genuinely felt another channel is the way for these sorts of videos or did you do it because of the backlash? And editors note does not help or explain this IMO. I'm going to assume you are being genuine, video does not help that - you are clearly overstating the worth of these items and it doesn't come off as sarcastic, you really should have included some clarification in the video itself. Opening shot with the companies name, clearly shouting out them - it clearly feels like an encouragement to purchase from them and with how positive you act during the video - feels really like an advertisement. And to your point of it not being an advertisement because you reached out to them - assuming this is true, did you pay for the package yourself or did company cover the costs? If you didn't, then it still very likely an advertisement and sponsored content, because they did sponsor you (not in cash, but with the items) and questions of them having creative input in the video arises (if they didn't, fine, but it would be a good idea to state that, if they did, then it's a clear sponsored content and you have to mark it as such). Also it opens up to question if they did give you planted package so their service seems like a greater value (though if they did this, they did it really poorly). If you did pay for it, then why did you even contact the company in the first place? You could have just placed an order and made a video about it. Overall as someone who loves your content I'm pretty disappointed in this. I actually like these sorts of mystery unboxing videos, but this felt far from genuine. I hope this is just some mistake from your part and you don't have any malicious intent, but from a scambaiter, I really expect better. Not your first questionable decision (that NFT video sparks to my mind).

Mr Ben, this video was really interesting and I really enjoy your content in general. I’ve been subscribed for a long time. I just have one honest concern. You reached out to the company and they were made aware of your online presence. Who’s to say that they didn’t cherry pick products that they knew were valueable in order to entice your audience to make a purchase; and then they send your audience junk. Companies like this have been known to do stuff like this before. I could be wrong, but I think in the future you should purchase anonymously. I think it would make it more fun and ethical because it would be a truly mystery experience. Looking at some of the other comments on this video, it looks like a lot of people are now interested in making a purchase from this company. I just think this is something you should consider when advertising for these sites. Looking forward to your response!

I rewatch the newly uploaded video and it seems like you removed the part at around 8:36 where you said "The net profit is 401 dollars, yeah, ok so this is propably the best investment i've ever made." Ok, cool. Maybe this was just a joke or maybe something else, but as you saw from the backlash i'd recommend making that a lot more clear in the future cause the original video without an editors note sure gave whole different kind of look to it and absolutely looked like an advertisement for the company. EDIT: Also noticed you removed the direct link to the company website.

How is it possible that none of those packages had invoices, packslips, or return forms in them? Not possible. Those packages were opened before they were sent to you. That is a scam company and you of all people should have known that!

Don't quite get how this piece of mail is considered "lost", when it's right there with an address blacked out..

Year's ago I would bid on lost/unclaimed baggage. I'd guess how much I could get for the luggage itself and double that price as maximum bid. The only homerun was a piece of luggage with several 14 &18KT pieces of jewelry. Unfortunately for me there was a lot of financial information in the bag that gave me the identity of the lady whom it belonged to. When I contacted her she said she got $330 from airline and $3,300 from her Homeowners insurance. I agreed to meet her at the Atlanta Airport and she gave me $4K and I gave her the bag with contents. She said two pieces was all she cared about being returned. From an appraisal by a local jeweler I'd guess the value of the pieces was 8 - 10K. Most of the time you only got a bunch of dirty clothes and I quit fooling with it.

Love type of videos. Glad you added in the bit about it not being a serious way to make money. People forget unless you already have a store or a way to unload items, some items could take a long time to find a buyer. In the end, it’s more a chore to sell the items.
