Update: Since this video got swept up into the yt algorithm recently I just wanted to correct a few things. 1. When I critiqued the fnaf series at the beginning as “not scary”, those were all my opinions from someone who knows little about fnaf. I understand that it may have not sounded like that. 2. I wanted to apologize for referring to Squimpus as “he” and not “they”. I obviously do not know them and meant no offense. It was an honest mistake, and I wish them all the best! This video was made back in August and I only hope that since I have made improvements in both my research and production to be the best Pagan Valley for all of you! ❤️

I will agree with you on one thing on the base level five nights at Freddy's isn't the scariest game ever that title goes to Outlast but the series gets truly demented and horrifying when you look into official lore. especially if you like the spirits of children possessing animatronics murdered by a man who he in himself is now possessing an animatronic.

What I really like about the fnaf vhs tapes is that it’s giving us a more cleaned up version of the first four games without it being plagued by the lore of the games that came after. It’s actually refreshing to see the story not be so convaluted and give us a more clear cut time of events.
@aydinmakesthings
@aydinmakesthings 2 жыл бұрын
That's why I personally love the tapes. I do think the games lore was way too complex, but at first I stuck with it. But then when I heard that William was revived in Help Wanted, I truly stopped caring. I felt like William was now just a "Cartoon Villain" Just always there in the next game. For me, the games ended at Pizza Simulator. Where they all got burned and freed. But nope, Scott had to keep it going. Now its just this fucking mess of non sense.

William Afton in this series absolutely terrifies me. He legitimately sounds like a psychopath with no empathy, and has a clear motivation for his crimes. This interpretation of the character just feels so...real. The voice actor and the writer did the character more than enough justice. Edit: Okay wow I thought only a few people would see this. Thanks for the likes everyone.

For me, its how they portray him more like a sadistic narcissist. Its all about HIS pain and how he needs to enact justice from his own perspective. The favoritism between his children even with plainly labeling one as bad and the other as innately good is telling. He has a need to harm others to fuel his own satisfaction or relief and thats what is so creepy to me.

Yeah. You always get the idea that William was a manipulative narcissist in the games (especially through Vanessa's tapes in security breach) but it's never really elaborated on, and instead channeled into his hunger for power through remnant based immortality. While that's an interesting Sci fi concept, I feel like the story would have worked sooo much better if Wiliam's true villainy came from him being an abusive narcissist who pushed away his wife, lost his son, tried to kill one kid but it gave him such a thrill he couldn't stop, eventually going after his wife who was now taking care of his oldest, before losing his middle daughter too thanks to how his sick thrill devolved. (Mentioned the part about the wife since it's not entirely cannon that Afton's wife is/was Ballora but a lot of people think so. And since Mike seemed to be on his own at a young age, I theorize that he lived with his mom after the accident in '83, and took her last name for a while, becoming "Mike Schmidt" of the first game. Which...is just my thoughts)

The one with just Bonnie and Chica has always been the only one that never scared me, but made me extremely sad. To me it's a bit misinforming, but the vids are set up in a way that outsiders can understand the lore. Still seeing that Freddy has (even though it's censored) a dead child in him, still. Possessing him. I mean, the games did mention the animatronics were smelling, probably due to the corpses stiffed in 'em, but it's still horrifying to see it just, out there. Even if censored. He caused the accident that killed his brother pretty much setting off the entire series of events. Even after getting scooped and working in the 1-3 locations he still does everything he can to try to free the children and get forgiveness. The Puppet is a very important character, if not THE most important, she’s the one that sort of guided the souls to posses the animatronics, and not knowing who she is in the first place adds to the mystery and just makes the experience better to those who haven’t been exposed to it as much. They owned the Chuck E Cheese characters and the copyright owner of Showbiz Pizza's band didn't want to give up his copyright for free, so they converted the band into Chuck E Cheese characters. The process was called "Concept Unification" and the track in the background was used in the video manual

It’s actually really interesting to watch this, because I have all of the lore (especially from the first four games) ingrained into my skull at this point, so instead of a mystery when certain points are mentioned I just get this sense of foreboding. When you know what happened / will happen there’s just this sense of dread. “He does not exist” really set that off.

1:51 Actually, I was going to point out that there's a fine line between "I don't find it scary" and "It's not scary". The former is your opinion, and you are perfectly entitled to it. The latter, however, is an assertion of fact, and must be backed up with additional facts if it's to carry any weight. Otherwise, there's nothing stopping people from just saying "I disagree" and ignoring you. I'm not trying to be mean or anything (frankly, I don't even play FNaF, I just find the lore interesting) so I apologise in advance if I've offended you, I just wanted to clarify that.

@@Sebi076 That wasn't really the intention, but I can see how my comment could be interpreted as such. Actually, I thought it might make an interesting idea for a video topic: "How Scary is FNaF Really?" It's a pretty difficult topic to cover, I'll admit; there are so many FNaF games and fear, like fun, isn't really quantifiable. However, it could still serve as a good opportunity to examine the gameplay elements of any given FNaF game and compare it to other horror games. The purpose of my comment was to underline the difference between subjectivity and objectivity, as well as to make clear the importance of such in video game analysis. TL:DR: Sorry if I came across as arrogant, I just wanted to offer a tip for future analysis videos.

What he DID say is that if Pagan said“FNaF Isn’t Scary” as if it were fact, that could cause people to just ignore the video all together. If anything, they are just giving advice on how to word things better. NO WHERE in the comment did they say Pagan was “wrong”. This reply is just proof that people lack basic deductive skills. When it comes to scaryneess i want to remind everyone that the definition of horror games, movies, books etc. has nothing to do with fear. The main criteria on wchich we categorize something as horror are disturbing impression, feeling anxious, disgusted, bothered. You don't have to be scared of frightened when you watch/play/read a horror. The same with thriller but thrillers are focused more on disturbance made by real life threats and situations, when horror is focused more on paranormal or sci-fi stuff. Horrors also could be based upon real life threats but in that case the distinction is made upon level of violence and brutallity. Horror is in this situation more brutal but only when is centered around the same reason of disturbance as thriller. When reason of upleasant feeling is different horror doesn't have to be brutal.

A small word of advice: most of the people that you're going to attract to a video like this are likely already fans of the game seeing as you have to have at least a rudimentary understanding of the franchise to get anything out of fnaf vhs. So condescending to them in your intro and calling them cringy is probably not a wise move. I'm not saying you have to shape your opinion around this, if the games aren't for you that's fine. But don't insult the tastes of the people who do like it since that's probably where most of your viewership on this video is gonna come from.

Personally, I find it refreshing to hear someone's unfiltered opinion about something. Feels like its taboo now to say you don't like something or that something is bad; you have to be so careful with your wording or you get mauled by a group of people who are looking for anything that they don't like worded a certain way. I feel like it goes without saying that if someone says something is bad then obviously it's their opinion, it shouldn't be necessary to start every sentence stating that its something that you think, or that its how you feel. That on top of not being able to make any definitive statements out of fear that it will offend someone who likes that thing, makes talking about anything lately so exhausting. Its good to see that it looks like the negative comments nit picking small portions of your video haven't gotten you down, and you're continuing to put out some comparatively engaging stuff for how small your channel is.

I agree to an extent. It's ok to say you don't like something and want nothing to do with it. People need to get over this obsessive indoctrination thing where they freak out if somebody hasn't joined their pseudo cult fandom or even heard of their franchise. But if somebody completely straight shot me and told me the thing I like is dumb, silly, childish and a piece of trash, I'm gonna be pissed. It doesn't take much to respectively state your opinion and move on instead of trashing on others for said interest.

Things that need to be known to better Piece together what you have seen are "The Purple Happy man" also known as William Afton. The Father of Michael Afton, The person we take the roll of in this video Fred bears family Diner Was originally founded by William Afton and his Friend and Business Partner Henry Emily. The Spring lock Suits Known as "Fred Bear" and "Spring Bonnie" that were worn were dangerous because a small bit of moisture even from human breath could loosen the spring locks causing the large metallic endoskeleton to snap back into place with a human still inside effectively completely crushing every part of them. Though back to Michael. It is mentioned in the first 5 Tapes that he shall be forgiven. This is because the death of Michaels younger Brother who is currently not given a name I'm pretty sure was caused by Michael shoving his brothers head inside the Fred bear Animatronic killing him, This is known as the Bite of 1983. This is the event Michael feels guilty about It is not confirmed what happened to Michaels Brothers souls William Afton did infact cause the death of the children. ((I will now list the Victims of william in relative order) Charlotte Emily, Henrys Daughter was slaughtered by william outside Fred bears family Diner before later being possesed by what you call "The Mime" Its true name being the puppet, or Marionet. This robot is responsible for giving life to the other robots. Next William Kills 5 more kids at a Freddy's location by luring the children into a room called the safe room, that was out of view of cameras using his old Spring bonnie Suit These Children being Gabriel (Freddy), Jeremy (Bonnie), Susie (Chica), Fritz (Foxy,) and Cassidy ( Golden Freddy/Fredbear) The Puppet later in a last resort to save the children's souls put the children inside the animatronic suits in order to bond their souls with it with its own thoughts being [Give Gifts, Give Life] At this point William had formed his own company known as Afton Robotics. Leaving Henry to manage Freddy Fazbears on his own. Though soon William had tragically lost his daughter Elizabeth Afton to one of his own robots in an accident resulting in her death and Afton robotics was quickly put on pause before being turned into a robot rental service William later killed 5 more kids at a newer Freddy's location (FNaF 2) it is unknown what happened to these souls but it is assumed they possessed the toy Animatronics. The picture that caused the Toy bonnie robot to launch at the mechanic in the facial recognition video was likely a picture of william causing the suits soul to go haywire. Later A security Guard known as Jeremy Fitzgerald Is almost killed by the Mangle Animatronic causing him to lose his frontal lobe in the Bite of 1987 An Unknown amount of years later After Fazbears entertainment and Afton robotics had shut down William returned to Destroy his own creations. William returned to the abandoned Freddy's Location (FNaF 1) William dismantles all 5 robots unknowingly Releasing their souls. When William is confronted by the souls he attempts to retreat to his old spring bonnie suit. He puts on the suit, It is unknown what his objective here was. Though due to the building being old and moist, the springlocks snap on Williams body killing him instantly, or in a slow painful death whichever you think Though the puppet (and mabey Cassidy/ Golden freddy) were not content with letting william die so they "gave him a gift, gave him life." William rotted in the sealed off safe room for 30 years. The bagging heard and the voice screaming Michael. and the purple text afterwards are william Screaming for help still alive inside his rotted suit. The boarded up room in the bathroom hallway is the saferoom he is trapped in. [30 Years Later] A person only known as phone dude is on a mission to open a horror attraction based on myths from the old Freddy's location. Phone dude contacts the old owners of the resturaunts, his sources eventually leading him and his crew back to the FNaF 1 location. William now fused with the rotted spring bonnie suit now known as spring trap is uncovered by phone dude. Sprigtrap is brought back to Fazbears fright the horror attraction Michael in his long hunt for his father after his disappearance 30 years ago signs up for a job as nigh watch for Fazbears fright. Eventually after 5 Nights Fazbears Fright is burned down by Michael in his attempt to kill the abomination his father had become Though Spring trap and Michael both escaped the fire and Michaels efforts were in the end in vain... Well this has been my recounting of the First few games up until 3. I did skip over a few games like Sister location and 4 because they were not really relevant to the Tapes But if you want here is the FNaF games in order FNaF 4 ---- FNaF Sister Location --- FNaF 2 ---- FNaF 1 ---- FNaF 3 ---- FNaF Pizzeria simulator --- FNaF Ultimate Custom Night --- FNaF VR ---- FNaF Security Breach Please Tell me If I missed anything I was quite Low on sleep when I wrote this

The only thing you messed up I'd say is that, Afton's daughter died first. Then the Crying child. The reason he had nightmares about the animatronics and their stomachs having teeth is because witnessed his sister getting scooped by baby. He remembers what he saw. This is also why we never see the sister in FNAF 4. She's already gone.

@@y0g_s0th0th Baby was made, and I quote, "after Fazbear's was closed". The crying child is the first character to die, followed by Afton murdering Charlie, the initial 5 victims, and then Elizabeth dies to Baby. The Funtimes were specifically created to kill children, why would William immediately start with murder robots and later downsize to petty hands on murders?

To be honest when most of us think the actual game is not scary, the vhs is a something that might be disturbing or gets you to have a bad feeling

The fnaf vhs tapes are a perfect combination of staying true to your source material while also being your own entity. Especially in the way William Afton is written. While we don’t know much about him in the games, this series does a wonderful job of imagining what he would be like. As a fnaf fan myself, I especially liked all the callbacks and references to the source material. A 10/10 series for fnaf fans and casual viewers alike

Most of it feels like it's trying way too hard but there are parts that actually kinda creep me out. That 'criminal' scene is scary as hell and the bird in the snow thing is really unsettling just having those eyes looking directly at you not knowing the intent of the stare. I'd still only give it about a 7/10 just because I feel like the first half is so boring and not just boring in the sense of not being interesting but in the sense that it tries so hard to be scary to the point of just doing too much. The ideal analog horror to me is subtle build up but the first half of this just does lazy jumpscares and robot voices. The second half brings the narrative up and mellows down on the horror choosing to instead make the audience peice together the things that actually make the story scary overall making the final product an actually creepy series.

Okay so I watch a lot of these type of videos but this is literally the only one where I have actually gone to the original videos because you were so convincing. While I don’t know literally anything about FNAF so a lot of stuff was…. Confusing at best, it was still fun! Unrelated, and I’m sure you know this, but the volume makes this a little hard to watch and I’m glad you haven’t had this issue in newer videos!
