Krillin is often mocked for being weak, but keep in mind that this is the guy who could have killed Frieza's Second Form, had he been able to think calmly. His Solar Flare can blind anyone, and the Destructo Disc could cut Frieza's tail clean off. If Krillin had been more confident in himself, he absolutely could have not only the entire Ginyu Squad, but Frieza's Second Form too. The only reason he didn't, I believe, is because Vegeta was there, and Krillin knew Vegeta was much stronger than him, and yet Vegeta still got beaten by both the Ginyu Squad and Frieza with ease, which probably made Krilling feel unsure of himself.

If you think about it, Kuririn was the main character of Dragon Ball Z whenever Goku wasn't around (which was often if we're being honest). In fact, he usually was driving the story until the big fights happen, especially during the Namek era, but also to a lesser extent during the Cell arc. So why him (other than Toriyama loved Kuririn's voice actress)? Well, it's like this video said: he's the audience, he's us. He's the everyman. Sure she's on par with Thor in actually power, but in terms the rest of the cast he's with, he feels like the better version of us.

It would've been really interesting if they had actually spent some time making it seem believable that the other fighters could still keep up. Maybe some kind of new type of training with the higher leveled fighters allowing them to dramatically increase in power far beyond what they ever could have otherwise. Maybe discovery of some sort of "human only" techniques rooted in ancient earth mythology. Lol, anything is better than no explanation.

When I was younger, I accepted that Yamcha, Tien, and Krillin simply weren’t capable of keeping up with aliens, saiyans, andriods, and magical wads of gum, but I always imagined them as those who would always stick to strict training regiments and always strive to improve; not only because I love them as characters, but because that is what Roshi and Goku taught them. For me, it doesn’t make sense for Krillin and Yamcha to give up on their training, or to be depicted as slackers/jokes. I usually disagree with many fans who disagree with Toriyama’s story beats for Super, because I LOVE Super, but I’ll always be upset at Toriyama for leaning into the trope of making Krillin and Yamcha joke characters.

This is all to make sure that we get all colours of the rainbow because Dragon Ball Super is actually a pride parade promotional anime. This therefore means that DBS is gay and that's okay... First time posting here and just wanna say as a long time DragonBall fan. If you haven't watch the original DragonBall I highly recommend. If you love Super, Z and GT (GT underrated) haven't seen old school DragonBall good see you will love and respect Krillin, Yamcha and Tien way more.

Z really lost the plot with the theme of martial skill and grit being more important than pure strength. Goku had to struggle through a lot of fights in Dragon Ball and lost several times to people who outsmarted him or had more refined techniques. At the beginning of Z, him and piccolo had to beat raditz using strategy and overcome the gap in power by raising their ki pressure using techniques. He beat Vegeta despite being significantly lower in power level because of techniques as well, Goku's only advantage was being the first person who had ever mastered the kaioken and genkidama. The fights were a lot more interesting then... When everyone was crazy powerful we started getting weird shit like gotenks and vegito vs super buu and those fights could have been epic but ended up being more like comic relief than anything else

Krillin's awesome. Always respected his character - and he DEFINITELY beat EVERYONE in the game of LIFE. This guy is having sex with android 18 every night. A hot, perfect-bodied woman who never ages, gets fat and grey, and beyond all that is a good wife and mother to his child. He may lack the power of Vegeta and Goku - but he beats them hands DOWN in knowing how to live your life well. Besides, this is the world of Dragonball. If he WANTS to, he can always summon the dragon and make himself 20 forever. So age is not even an issue in their world. He HAS the option to just be immortal and young forever, which means he CHOOSES to get older. BUT I hate hate HATE what they did to our boy's design in Super. In Z, he was maybe 1.5 meters, about 5' tall - a short guy, but not a MIDGET - about shoulder height to an average 5'9" / 175 cm guy. But he was a JACKED short guy. He pulled it off. In SUPER, they made him LITERALLY a midget, like waist-high to an average guy, and his muscles are GONE - stick arms. He looks so WIMPY in Super now and I HATE that. DBZ Krillin > DBS Krillin in terms of design. Even in the buu saga, he had hair now but he still had SOME muscle. I just find the slimming down of characters in Super to be very annoying. Even Goku has such a wimpy build in some shots.

I have liked your channel for what feels like years now and this last series feels like re hashing things you’ve covered during interesting topics in previous videos. I think your perspective on cross verse scaling or reviewing the movies or breaking down the power system or levels of misunderstood characters would be good. Right now, it feels like you are giving us filler content. Can we please have the canon story? None of this is hate, just honest, critical feedback

Dragonball Super sucks.

People give Gohan a lot of zhit for not training both after Cell and after Buu, but I never see Dragonball fans give Krillin that same level of flack for doing the same despite Krillin being one of the few full-blooded human fighters who could make some difference. It's highly implied that like Gohan and Yamacha, he didn't train during the 7 year time gap after the Cell arc. Why the double standard...?
