What The Hell Is Happening At Ajax?
There’s something terrible currently going on at Ajax. From winning the Eredivisie title just last year, Ajax are now practically embroiled in a relegation fight. They won just 2 of their first 9 games, losing 5, and drawing the remaining 2. This is so far from the Ajax we’re used to seeing, especially in the Eredivisie where they are usually kings.
So, all this definitely begs the question; what the hell is happening at Ajax?
We could argue that the retirement of Van Der Sar in May 2023 and his stepping down from the role of director general at Ajax might be the cause of this sudden decline, but in fairness, the ship began sinking right after Erik Ten Hag left.

The exact same thing is happening at Dinamo Zagreb. In two years they let go of: Oršić, Moro, Livaković, Šutalo, Ivanušec, Majer, Gvardiol and some more

The main Ajax problem is letting go of their stars, they've always done it and replaced sold ones with new,fresh and exciting ones. However, they've miserably failed in that this season and it's quite evident that club needs a good rebuild of established and young players and they also need to work with their manager and develop an identity and mentality of winning

Ajax's incredible downfall is not because of Van der Sar's sudden departure. The problem had even really started a year ago, when the club director itself, Marc Overmars, decided to leave after being targeted by a tremendous critics following his sexual assault allegiations in February 2022. Overmars was an important figure in Ajax because he helped the club invested some funds to recruit some good talents that contributed to the great success of the club under Erik ten Hag. In other words, VDS decided to leave because of Overmars and ETH's departures that affected club performance during the 22/23 season. Also, Ajax had just lost to Brighton in Europa League this season and could face an early exit from the European competitions. You might include Lyon and Basel as well because they were in a tremendous crisis.

Yeh they had Heintiga before Stijen en Maudrio for 2 matchs before van Het Schip toke over agianst Vollendam

@@MathijsBeute-zz3hs Indeed, their European form was mediocre. Now they suffered a back-to-back 0-2 defeats at the hands of Brighton. Early exits from Europe could be happened because they still play against AEK at home and an away trip to Marseille, who had the same issues, but still maintained a consistency in Europa League without defeat this season!

@@ezraezra2928 Next year, when the new format of the Champions League starts, the prize money will be much higher than before. it is very likely that Feyenoord as the runner-up and PSV as the champion will play in that Champions League, while Ajax will play in the Europa League or the Conference League next season, which will not be nearly as financially strong as the Champions League. I think that because of this, PSV and Feyenoord will be financially much more powerful than Ajax and that is why Ajax is now waiting for a long period without a trophy. Do you agree with me?

The main reason ajax are struggling is because they have sold a whole talented squad in less than 2 years. They would have stayed at the top if only they had kept their star players. However, when a big club comes in with an offer, ajax must accept it

Sven mislintat not being mentioned in this video is a big thing to be lacking. He was in charge of the latest summer signings and the players he signed was only for his own benefit as they were all related to companies where he had shares. So they ended up not signing any players to fit the Ajax way of playing, nor signing enough competent players in general. Of course all of this led to him being fired quickly.

I think they wanted to get away with all sales of players by just putting very young players in their starting lineup. This strategy doesn't always work as we can see from Burnley this season. And also this club replaced three very promising young centre backs(Bassey, Lisandro and Timber) with Sutalo and Hato(never heard of them).

Selling your best players every year or two & constantly rebuilding will eventually catch up with you. You have to have a near perfect transfer record & recruitment team along with proper management that runs out of sustainability eventually.

Schip trapte in de boobytrap, die steyns, cq maduro kwa opstelling wedstrijd na wedstrijd fout deden. Tegen volendam, en Heerenveen dacht ik de hand kwa opstelling van de meester te zien op de spits positie na, die akpom de gehele wdtstr had moeten zijn. Tegen brighton wist ik niet wat ik zag, de helft positie, was bezet door spelers die daar nooit speelde, van Hato tot akpom, van Mikautadze tot forbs. Maduro teveel input gehad?? Vt Schip speel jouw spel, en niet die van maduro. Please
