Navajo Traditional Teachings

Navajo Traditional Teachings

Жыл бұрын

It’s the second part of the traditional teaching of “If it’s going to be it’s up to me”.
The saying goes both directions. If good things are going to be, it is because you do good things. If bad things are going to be, it is because you do bad things.
In this video Navajo Historian, Wally Brown, shares what The Medicine Man would say before the ceremony.
And that is… what you are experiencing is something that you did purposely or accidentally. Or something that you came in contact with.
This is why our Navajo people refrain from talking about things like Skinwalkers. It is because most, especially the elders, don't want to associate their lives with that type of influence.
Enjoy the video.

I can completely relate! They never had the spark and it angered them that we had it despite everything they did to us. I’m guessing you were the scapegoat in your family. They never understood your spirituality and the gifts of God. I pity them. They caused so much damage and pain. I get it now though. They have no internal peace at all and when they see your light it enrages them and they have to off load it. When we leave and sever ties you can bet they will be offloading it on someone else.

This man is SO right! I had a bad job and instead of leaving it I worked it and stewed in negative thoughts until I had a workplace accident that broke my neck. But leaving the place made me a much more peaceful and forgiving man. Another example is to look at who we have become as a Nation. Sure, there has always been a dirty underbelly to America, but nothing like it is today. This nation is about to blow apart at the seams and it seems that most people want that. I don't have to point fingers or assign blame anybody that would do that already has.

Any older native people here please read if u could. I just want someone who comes from that background to hear me out. This is off topic but I've always wanted to say this. When I was a child around 5 years old I remember almost vividly this native man wearing a red headband just like the man in the video. I was out in my grandmothers yard during the summer playing in the yard. He had a green caterpillar in his hand and also was pointing to all the bee's that were around us in the yard. I can't remember what he was saying but I do remember that he said that the caterpillar and the bee's where very important to earth. He said that when there is no more of them earth will be in trouble. Ive asked my mom and cousins if they knew or had a native friend and they said no and no one described like that has ever been to my grandparents house. That moment has followed me my entire life and I think of that man alot over the years. Not that long ago scientists say the bee's are going extinct and as of 2 days ago I just read that the beautiful monarch butterfly is going extinct. Im not native by the way either. Im convinced I was visited by a spiritual person or vision.

Larry this was for you and your path in life. It stays with you for that reason. It has shaped you in a way no other person will know. Cherish these times in life when you were young. The world hasn't had time to harm us or take away much from our inner innocent spirit at that point in life. That's why we are able to connect to our guides without even trying. It happens naturally. The lesson was more than butterflies or bee's. Only you will know. However there was a trigger point here for you to remember the experience so don't take it lightly. Possably even a time to fully be connected to the true meaning. Search wisely with love in your heart. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, mine similar... but I've seen butterflies here a lot this year where last 6yrs were none!!! The blooms are brighter, I suppose I was dreaming but these are many different colorful ones, the earth is on its way over to shake off what's not needed!!! Haggai2:7; *Heb.12:27- And this word= true and faithful-Rev.21:5/, yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, "as of things that are made", that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory- *Gen.28:12-19; 1Cor.6:2,3;12:27, saith the Lord of hosts. *The desire is of Christ... the latter house- Mal.3:1-4:3

This is true! I noticed that when I’m mentally focused on being loving and grateful for even the smallest things, complete strangers around me have suddenly called me “beautiful”. I have never considered my face as “beautiful”, it’s just what my parents gave me. When I am in public and am dwelling mentally and emotionally on past traumas, I never hear that compliment from others. Your mind and heart and soul are connected. I choose to dwell in the positive. It keeps my heart content.

Barbara Tardy; Grand Father's teaching was to be careful what you let into your life... anything negative has it'd own power, therefore be aware of delving in the past.. . Your understanding, your maturity level and your reasoning can help you escape being trapped... its very important to reveal the negativity to your children or to someone who is still growing even though they may be older.. anyone who is young, their mind, their heart, are still fragile so if they are exposed to the past stories of all that happened to our people the negativity will hold them there in a state of hatred, their mind, their thought process will be stunted, so will their reasoning. Their health of mind, body and soul will be affected... its grip is tremendous.. this is the reason there is a lot of anger, hatred among our young. Instead, he taught that.. even though our people experienced all these atrocities, our ancestors survived with every ounce of strength, determination, resiliency they had with their prayers, their stories, their songs and their ceremonies, they held their values, attributes, characteristics and their tenaciousness of character and endurance and long-suffering through their cultural adaption they survived with their stories, their songs, their ceremonies and with their prayers of faith, they survived into the 21st century. They were the survivalist and they brought their stories, songs, ceremonial and prayers down to us in this day and age. These characteristics, strong abilities, endurance, agility, determination, strength of character, faith, beliefs, communion with Diyin Dine'e (Holy People) to whom they converse with in the dawn of the morning, at noon and in the eve of the night. They had respect for all elements of the universe and to the best of their abilities honored Divinity. For they use the power of Divinity in their ceremonies, told stories of Divinity, sang songs of Divinity and conversed with Divinity in prayers. To them everything and all that they were came from Divinity and did all with prayers. This is your responsibility to pass to your children and grandchildren... their ancestors were NOT Victims but VICTORS. They prayed you here and now pray for your posterity. Spread Positivity and Love as Jesus Christ taught when he came and lived among our ancestors after his Crucifixion and Resurrection. Thank you and Amen 🙏

I think those many diseases have to also do with the general polution, the change în diets, all the nuclear waste that has been spreading all around the globe for decades now. But of course it has to do with imbalances all around us and within us. We have lost so many species of beings that did so much for Earth. And we still expect to be fine when everything around us is dying and dissapearing. The butterfly effect is true. It might not be visible rapidly but it is real and eventually reaches everything.

This subject you speak of is why sometimes natural healing medicines do not always work in everyone. Thank you. My great grandmother was a medicine woman from the Cherokees. She was not a native American, but a blonde-blue-eyed Scottish woman living among the Cherokee. She could heal people, save lives, and not just cover up symptoms. I love natural healings, which can be more complete. Studied these since my early 30s. I know they work.

We are like a magnet, if we give out good vibes we attract that back. Live in a negative way, negativity almost as an echo would....it comes back to you. Thank you for sharering your wisdom. 💞

You do not always attract good being good and having good vibes. The shadow people can still attack out of jealousy and their own issues.

Thank you for this pearl of wisdom that you share here. I am perhaps far from you in a geographical sense since I live up in the North Sweden, but close to you in manner of what I was lucky to have learned and know in my soul. May your wisdom reach all the searching souls and help them find the right path.
