What The Right Would Need To Win A Civil War

In discussions of a second American civil war, there's a big debate over whether right-wingers or left-wingers would win the civil war. Conservatives control significant areas of the U.S, but are spread out, and this wide distribution across the United States can be both a pro and a con. The number one thing Republicans would need to win a 2nd Civil War against Democrats would be a single unify leader who can consolidate the wide population, and various factions of the American right.

Felt that for sure, especially when there was a false threat (that we didn't know was false) at my school a while back (off to college now woop! woop!) and I was ready to stab whoever the a hole was if they came into the room, since conveniently the door was positioned forward and had an area you could hide in to then come behind a shooter and stab them right in the back. I also have some training courtesy of my father.

@Alex Pokrandt the right wasn't United There was everything from Christians to monarchists and fascists. They won because they gained the support of the common man because the left basically played a 2 french Revolution with their executions of clergy dissidents liberals and the pillaging. The "right" was the safest option + the right had popular figure heads that united them air superiority and better trained soldiers + more volunteers. So basically it was not granted for the right to win In an American civil war the right could or couldn't get the same things. We only know what happens if something happens. The left could explode again in infighting who is the wokest for example Lgbt people vs terfs etc And the right could get a charismatic leader Or its the other way around No one knows

In a traditional Civil War, there are only going to be three factions: 1) Loyalists 2) Rebels 3) Unarmed civilians The strength would be determined by loyalty, size, and number The French gave the Patriots weapons, and the British actions turned away many loyalists. Looking back through European histories, this often seems to be the weakness of conservative forces. The Whites in Russia -or Nationalists/warlords in China- are the perfect example; conservatism is inherently more parochial than international communism/capitalism & thus harder to unify. The big counter-example would probably be Franco unifying the Spanish right, though it helped that his leftist enemies were also internally divided between republican/Marxist/anarchist.

@@thekommunistkrusader3921 what are you talking about? You absolutely don't have to sacrifice your individuality to have unity. You need to learn how to cooperate and be diplomatic with others for sure, but what you just said is a justification many dictators have used throughout history to destroy the individual, and claim ownership over each and every citizen. "We must all ABANDON Individuality for OBEDIENCE, Comrade!" Hmmm...and that's worked out SO WELL for all the countries who've tried such systems in the past. I mean, that's the sort of mentality that gives the state the license to literally usurp God's authority and position, but as any honest person knows, HUMANS SUCK - especially the ones that are given (or that take) absolute power for themselves. And what are you SMOKING dude? The DEMOCRATS are the ones who blindly follow their Cult Leaders and Propaganda Outlets without EVER questioning ANYTHING they're told! By contrast, Republicans in general distrust many (most?) within the party, and question the motives and policies of said cretins and suspects. This might be a more recent phenomenon indeed, and it's a really good indicator of the overall moral/ethical leanings and worldviews of both groups, and how they're changing as things heat up. For example: Democrats are doubling down on defending things like Child Murder, trying to take away our right to Life - advocating to restrict (and eventually abolish) self-defense, legalize and encourage suicide, etc. They convince Impressionable CHILDREN that they need to be hacked apart and sewn back up into a Frankenstein's Monster to be a "normal" Human Being... I mean if you're HONEST, it's plain to see - "Democrats" are actually the Cult of Death and Perversion. Republicans (more like True Conservatives you try so hard to Demonize) these days are mainly advocating for NOT Murdering/Mutilating Children, they support STOPPING Human/Child Trafficking...I could go on. Meanwhile, the Democrat funded media machine attacks good people like Tim Ballard who fight AGAINST this evil 24/7 (I wonder WHY that is?! 🤔) and *we're* the ones who HATE individuality?? Seriously? Dude, we CELEBRATE individuality, whereas the "Democrat/Leftists/Liberals" out there (like all totalitarian groups) want nothing more than TOTAL Compliance, and COMPLETE Domination over "We The People." Yeah I will admit, there's far too many flake "republican" RINOS in the GOP, and as far as I'm concerned they can go to hell, and they can't die off fast enough for my liking. Destroying roads or blocking rhem with cars keeps the bigger cities in a type of siege cutting them off from getting resources besides maybe air drops and the sea from coastal cities. But those are also double edged awords because they are fighting with their backs against a wall. Unless they are armed convoys most people wont attempt to breach an armed checkpoint.

It won’t be about party as Republican militias see the party as too moderate. It will find some more nationalistic footing or the fact that there is a common enemy, namely the city. I doubt the 2nd American Civil War will be fought on State Lines or those kinds of boundaries. I think it'll be a militarized faction of the Right or Left that will have sympathies in different states and they will operate on more guerilla war style factions. States could be supporting this insurrection through under the table financing with food/weapons/and sheltering. Getting to a point of such a political division where states secede will only occur well past a boiling point the military would immediately crush a state from leaving. Only if that guerilla group could create such disaster and destruction where they could potentially have a chance at winning the war then maybe you could see states outwardly seceding and allowing this guerilla group to permanently and openly operate on their border. There isn't this massive self identity with one's state anymore so the idea of session internally would cause unrest within its population and elected officials.

I think your massively underestimating cities, and I say this as someone living in the rural south. Most rural states and counties are far to poor to support their own infrastructure: roads, electricity, water, etc, so we get subsidies from large cities to pay for all that. Sure rural areas may have a weapons advantage, but the second they cut off electricity, water, and the roads start falling apart, most people out here will give up out of attrition alone, or demand a truce. The only real strategic resource we have is food resources, and even then I’d gander to say lots of suburban farmers would be more than willing to sell to cities in exchange for power and a comfier life. Coastal cities can just rely on imports, from nations like Canada, Great Britain, and the EU which are undoubtedly more friendly to the left than the right. There’s also historical precedent to go on here, as for the past 200 years most revolutions and civil wars were won by the more urban cities. Paris literally mandated the French Revolution, the USSR was born from large industrial centers, and both Hitler and Mussolini came to power in their respective capitals and other large cities where they then imposed their will.

This is a big reason why I say a Second Civil War is only possible after the US gets its shit kicked in by Russia and China in World War 3. Right now, the Fed and Fed allies just have too much power, resources, and influence to be put down by some guerilla groups. But, if the Fed loses most of that in a World War, the playing field might be a lot more even.

In an actual revolution power is centered around prominent cities and counter revolutions spawn from the country side. The French revolutionaries literally subjugated everything outside of Paris while putting down rebellions in Provence and the Vendee. The same would be true for America, with whoever was in power radiating through Washington onto whatever region they so wished until a civil revolt or military coup occurred to stop them.

This assumes that everything is red/blue would be cohesive and everyone would be on the same side. Not everyone in Texas thinks the same just like everyone in California doesn't think the same. A leadership structure would be a lot harder to establish when allies would be so far apart and even split by possible enemies.

Right. In reality, cities and neighborhoods would be encircled by a right wing militia onslaught by a bunch of hillbillies (think of the Taliban). I can see the left holding out but not winning.

The internet has made everyone so put together from so far apart that you can find people like you several towns over but you may feel alienated a lot easier in your own town if you don't share their beliefs when before you would be either conforming to the beliefs or ran out of town

Hot take. New England being solid blue in charts like this is a mistake. Most of New Hampshire and Maine, along with central Massachusetts, eastern Connecticut; and to a lesser extent cape cod and western Massachusetts; are all functionally right wing as well. Blue New England is the wine and cheese people of western Massachusetts and Vermont, the New York metro area in Connecticut, Hartford, the Boston metro including the commuter areas of southern New Hampshire and Rhode Island, and the Portland area of Maine. Also, the geography of Rural New England is paradise for a guerrilla and hell for an organized military (rocky and dense, with hidey holes and literal stone walls that only locals would know about, and many areas are swampy most of the year). I don’t think that the efforts of right wing New Englanders is enough to capture Boston or New York City, but it is enough to be a drain on the Left Wing’s efforts outside of their strongholds

There are like 80,000,000 Democrats, and they all have access to the largest cities. This means they also have access to the most industry. Idk what strongholds you are talking about but industry is far more important and valuable. Also what about the US military? Study shows the US military is more loyal to their commanding officer then their party, and if anybody starts an attack the US military will be against the initiators. So not only will you have no industry and no unity, but you will have no federal government backing. Even if state militias were with you they cannot go up against the US army as a whole. Also... why even bother revolting? What is that going to do? All that is going to do is turn a fragile democracy into a facist state. Why????

The factories can't run when all the workers have starved to death. The government issue aircraft can't fly when the pilot's home gets raided in the night by two men with a plan and any kind of weapons. And if you really don't understand why so many people are completely ready to discard this farce democracy for anything else at this point then either you are incapable of understanding or you are aware and just think you somehow benefit from that which plagues this country.

You have some good points but about that industry... they cant build anything without resources to built it out of and transports to get it there, it would be a race against time for the Democrats to push out from the citys and capture resources and infrastructure on the periphery

Trust in the government and our democracy is already essentially at 0. Very few have any confidence that the government and politicians have the peoples' best interest at mind, and rightly so. The Government is corrupt, greedy, and incompetent. Now, a Civil War is far from the best outcome, but under the circumstances, if we, the people, want to change America for the better, and the Government and elite are too stubborn to let us, then a Civil War, or a coup is the only thing that could do that. People don't really realize how sugar coated the American Government really is. It has WAY too much power than it should have, and realistically it could silence anyone it wanted to and turn into a dystopian state real fast. I mean, look at Jan 6, the Facts about it are still being wrangled and wrestled from the eyes of the people. I mean, the Capital guards let the protesters in, and showed them where everything was. And yet, the news (Which are corrupted and greedy, and aligned with the government in most cases), still won't cover that. And about the Military thing. The Majority of your frontline soldiers are conservatives. I don't think they'd be willing to fight and torch their own people, so the majority of them would either leave, and return home to protect their family, or leave and join a militia or state military. And those who remained. It just depends if they see a corrupt government as America, or the actual people as America. At that point, it's pretty easy to chose which you want to fight for.
