Let me guess. If the Horn of Africa is at peace, there will be no more need for US navy to be there to ‘protect global shipping’ because there will be less piracy and the countries in the region itself could cooperate to police shipping with their own navies, especially as they get wealthier in the absence of war. Then the lucrative shipping bottleneck there would be back in the control of the countries it lies in, and not the USA. Which is bad for the US imperialist economy.

As long as USA intervention is existing in the Horn of Africa in cooperation with other external regional rich agencies or countries we will all be exposed to poverty, famine, war and other ethnic, religion and social conflict.
