I'm a Tigrayan Eritrean. What happens to an African country that doesn't accept foreign aid money? You break its legs until it learns its place apparently. Love my Eritrean dad's culture, love my ethiopian mom's culture, for being a part of a distinguished history in denying the norm that is rule by supremacy of color through economy. Which unveils the hidden lie, "African countries NEED to rely on aide to survive", when the fact is everything is being done to pass that narrative as true to this day. It has even bled into our house and that we'd never accept government assistance, you work or you die, the borrower is slave to the lender! Just look at France and its current ex colonies! The most tragic victims in the world is the Amharas . TPLF started the war with the full support of the west to overthrow the abyi oromo’s dominated government. But the sad part the whole Ethiopian people know and will not forget is in Maykadra the organized Tigray youth by the TPLF murdered by marking the homes of Amharas and the national military inside Tigray that have been their for decades lived to protect the border and helped building schools and helped the farmers. The TPLF called it tactical strategy and murdered Amharas soldiers but on the international news they lied intentionally while the victims were Amharas that genocide committed but TPLF lied and said the victims were Tigray people. It’s like killing the victims of Amharas twice. Amongst Ethiopian it’s a well known fact TPLF history is full of similar crime targeting Amharas, annexing Amharas land... etc. what’s sad is even though the western media had the true information the kept repeating the lies victimizing Amharas genocide by keeping lies in BBC and CNN. We all know TPLF was in power for 27 years against Ethiopian will through their western government support. Unfortunately the west is still trying to resuscitate TPLF to have control over East Africa . The majority of destabilization happens in Africa due to western geopolitical interest but always the victims are the innocent Africans.

Just for your information, all the churches and the non-profit organization. Who filed out and signed the 501(c)3 forms and then turned them in to the United States government. ( IRS ) Are then controlled by the United States government and they will tell you what you can and cannot say and do. All it takes is a quick bit of reading about the Axum massacre to see that even the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission, a human rights organization set up by the Ethiopian government, found that over 100 victims were murdered by the Eritrean Defence Forces. The EHRC reports the acts committed by the Eritreans in Axum may constitute crimes against humanity. This is a far lower number of victims than reported elsewhere, but it is still a massacre perpetrated by Eritrea and far from "utterly false." I love your show, but the fact you would have someone on who blatantly denies such an atrocity is really disappointing. Eugene, you even seem to mention earlier in this clip that Ethiopia and Eritrea also committed human rights violations. Good on you. There is a story to tell here, for sure, about the victimization of the TPLF in the Western press. But platforming an apologist for the EDF, who denies a major human rights violation like the massacre at Axum, which, again, I stress has been reported on by Ethiopia's own human rights watchdog, is ridiculous. Please don't have this shameless man on again. It also makes it hard to believe whatever else he says.

This video is downright ignorant or irresponsible. Eritrea is a country without a parliament, a meaningful executive branch, a judiciary, a constitution, higher education, free press, an ombudsman office and many other institutions that give a state the semblance of a state. Rule of law is estranged from the land. Indeed, it is a one man show like no other. Everyone is right to be concerned about the status quo, including the large number of natives that have fled the land. The West is overly reactive about countries that do not toe its line. It is not new. But that is no excuse to condone what is going on Eritrea. That is far from the type of vision or progress we aspire to have in Africa. Eritrea's leader is in his late seventies, and people that age do not do well. But there is no succession plan that anyone has heard of. That bodes a civil war, particularly in light of the conflict that is taking place in the diaspora. I must suspect that this channel is a paid agent of the tyranny in Eritrea. Now, the shills can scream to high heaven. But those are cold inescapable facts.
