Does every new car come with an owners manual? Yes. Does anyone read it? Not really LOL. Every time we get a new car, we always want to know what are they hiding? What are the hidden features buried deep in that owners manual, or even NOT in the owners manual! Dealerships will ALWAYS leave out some features that your car comes with, so hopefully a couple of the ones that we have learned since Mac got his CX-50 so far can help you guys out! These are the Hidden Features, that apply to probably most New Mazdas!

I just realized you left out the feature where you can program your seat, mirrors, & heads up display settings into your key fob by pressing set on the memory seat and press unlock on the remote. Every time you open your door all your settings adjust for you depending on which programmed key fob you're holding.

Now find a way to use the remote start without having to use mazda connect. I hate having to use my phone because my key fob doesn't have that feature. (cx-30)

I bought my Mazda 3 carbon edition hatch here in Thailand, picked it up yesterday ! Owners manual all in Thai. uh oh. If you buy a car here they put flowers on the dashboard and give you a small buddha figurine for the dashboard. 🙂

Why is it every time I try to look up something in an owners manual it’s never listed in the index? That’s why KZfaq videos like this are indispensable. Thanks guys.

nah, the best use of adaptive cruise control is in traffic. I found that the most stressful part of traffic is constantly pressing the break then the gas, then the break and so on. Setup adaptive cruise and let the car do all the stop and go. So much less stress. Keep your foot ready to strike but enjoy the ride.

On the power windows, sometimes they lose the ability to fully open or close automatically when giving the button an extra little press past the "click". If your windows no longer respond to the "all the way up" or "all the way down" feature you can do this to reprogram them. Press the down button at the driver's door, holding the switch down for an additional 5 seconds once it's all the way down. Then pull the button up, holding it for an additional 5 seconds once it comes all the way up. Give the button the little extra press down and it should be good to go! Works for every Mazda I've tried it on all the way back to 2007. I blew a salesperson's mind about a month ago by doing this. They had been working on this 2016 CX-9 trying to fix this issue. They replaced all 4 motors and all of the window switches on the car with no luck. Over $1500 in parts from the dealer. Knowledge is power!!

This is a safety feature… so if you have your parking brake engaged, the electronic parking brake will NOT automatically disengage unless you put your seatbelts on. You will think it’s broken but you are just not buckled up.

I think the manufacturers consider use of their cars intuitive, not in the real world my friends. The manuals are almost useless, even the index is confusing.KZfaqrs who give you tips on car use are invaluable, kudos to them.

One of my favourite features is if you have heated seats, you can link your heated seats to your climate control. So when you remote start or get in the car and start it in the winter it will automatically turn on the heated seats! It sets them to the appropriate level based on temps inside and outside the vehicle. It will gradually reduce the temp and turn it off after a while as well. If there is no passenger detected it will not run their heated seat, but as soon as they sit down and click in their seat belt it will turn on their heated seat automatically as well if needed.

I don't understand why people don't like adaptive cruise. It is super handy and I miss it when I drive my vehicles that don't have it.

For most new vehicles you don't have to fully disable the adaptive cruise control in the infotainment. Let me blow your mind. When you press the cruise control button to turn it on. Press and hold it and it will automatically switch to regular speed hold instead of adaptive. To switch back to adaptive, just turn cruise control off and turn it back on again. :) I would love to see your reactions to this!

My wife and I share a 2021 CX-9. One of the top comments was regarding syncing your memory settings with the key fobs. This was the biggest tip for me; it’s going to be so convenient not having to adjust mirrors or push the memory setting buttons every time.

My brand new CX-50 has this dope anti-theft feature where the battery dies overnight... Literally less than 1k miles on it 😂

I'd like to see methods of permanently turning off/disabling all the safety junk I do not need or want. Automatic brakes, lane keep, lane departure, radar cruise, plus cylinder deactivation and engine start/stop. I'm hanging on to my 2014 Mazda3 since it doesn't have any of that crap.
