Pay more, for something that will last 10 years and have almost 0 resale value. I'd rather stick to good ol' petrol for now.

Thats weird given me and my uncles EV's are 11 years old and in perfect condition. My EV is worth more than I paid for it currently.

Boys, end of the game. Ever wondered why Hertz got rid of their EV fleet, just one data point

Actually, they didn’t “get rid of their EV Fleet” but they did reduce it. It’s not that there wasn’t customer demand, but rather it was specific to their mostly Tesla’s having higher costs: the Teslas were more expensive to repair after a collision, and they lost a lot of their value quickly, since Tesla was cutting prices of its new vehicles. The business model of a car rental company keeps the cars for a short period of time and then sells it as a used vehicle. Since Tesla’s prices dropped so quickly, they had to sell their Tesla’s which they were done with for a lot less than anticipated. Of course, falling EV prices is a GOOD thing for most buyers who plan to keep them a while.

1st thing to consider: don’t even consider to buy a EV.

It's mostly likely gonna replace most combustion vehicles eventually. I think if the charging grid was more modernized, a lot more people would buy in. People are just concerned about range and lack of working common charging stations. Prices have come down quite a bit from before but they still need to come down further to be competitive with the average combustion vehicle. Considering how fast average prices have fallen over the past two decades, at this point it's only a matter of time before they become more competitive than combustion.

Define ‘eventually’. I don’t think we going to have mass EVs adoption in my lifetime

@@Hdhfhhdh Its gonna be gradual not just en mass. The infrastructure act included huge funds to boost charging infrastructure like some 500,000 charging stations alone. That doesn't include all the private ventures building charging stations. Assuming that all gets built in 5 years and very likely accompanied by cheaper EV prices and models is a good recipe for mass adoption. Oil prices are only gonna get more expensive since we use it much faster than it's replenished. Renewable energy is practically unlimited forever vs finite oil which secures renewables dominance. You can even charge some evs to 80% in 10 minutes. It believe it was 8% new cars being EVs in the USA so it's just going to continue gradually increasing. California is much higher in annual ev sales and multiple states are passing legislation to include more EV options to transition to all EVs

@@WELVAS. even if there a lot of charging stations , the existing grid cannot handle it. Last year other so CA Announced it’s going to be only selling EV by 2035. The very next week the governor was begging people not to charge their EV because it was enormous stress on the grid causing blackouts. Our country was a long way to go. It’s going to a slow painful transition even if it happens. Also green energy like solar wind , may be infinite in theory , but practically speaking it’s unreliable. They don’t work all the time and may fail during peak times. The only way for clean reliable and sustainable energy source is nuclear energy. Unfortunately USA is shutting them down instead of building more. Currently only 20% of USA energy source is green 20% nuclear and the rest 60% fossil fuels. so even if we have EVs most of its the energy would come from fossil fuels which will just drive up the price of electricity. For Those I don’t see large scale adoption EVs in my life time

@@Hdhfhhdh People keep saying the grid can't handle it. The grid needs to transition regardless. Per human energy usage has only gone dramatically up over time. The grid always had to adapt and expand. I see no difference now. Painful maybe, impossible, absolutely not. There was a story this year where California ran completely on renewable energy for a period time, which is quite a milestone. Battery storage is also a thing. You can go days maybe even weeks without the sun if you install battery storage. Nuclear is also an important energy source and should be expanded too.
