Thanks for sharing your stories as a speech therapist.. it truly is valuable information for us parents...Thanks for all you do to help us out, I know you are making a difference in so many lives, mine included😊👍 You’re so right how the therapy needs to continue at home...So far the reward strategy has worked wonders with my 3 year old son, it truly is amazing how with a motivator/reinforcer how much more likely he attempts to communicate with me and comply...It’s like that light bulb goes on in his head...We are working on gestures, he needs to imitate a gesture I show him before he gets his reward, so far it is working well, we are just continuing with repetition now so he gets faster and more consistent...since working on gestures more consistently I feel he will try and attempt to say the words more often now also...I had never heard of reward system until I came across your channel, excellent strategy to teach compliance, as you said, behaviorally first before speech comes 👏👍
