What to do if your Peugeot Partner or Citroen Berlingo EV 22kWh is dead and not starting?

This video is for owners of the Peugeot Partner Electric or the Citroen Berlingo Electric with the 22kWh battery pack (approx 2012-2019) and shows what to do if you find you can't unlock or start your electric van. The same principles are for any electric vehicle too.
If your electric van wont unlock with the keys, then it is either the battery in the key fob or the 12V battery under the bonnet that has gone flat. If the key will open the door using the key blade and then you can start the vehicle up, its the key fob battery that needs replacing. If you can't start the vehicle, then its likely the 12V battery has gone flat and needs charging or replacing. In an emergency, you can jump start it from another vehicle, just the same as in an ICE vehicle.

Interesting stuff, I would have naturally assumed red +ve and black -ve 😮 is it French cars that have this layout, or would my Hyundai be the logical +/- system. Never had any problems but good to be prepared. I had both key fob batteries go at the same time a little annoying as same dealer “name” change Vauxhall key batteries on a service but Hyundai don’t! Guess what…just had a service 🙄

Hi, is there something like a HV battery tool to read data? Like leaf spy obd? Thx for the video 👍

I don't know of any. There will be readers of course, but I don't think any will read the HV battery.

You can use carscannere and a obd tool. Works great to read batterie temp and more

Remember to set the odb to mitsubishi i miiev setting as it's not a Citroen obd

The other difference between the Vauxhall and the others is that they have ALWAYS had the 50KwH battery.

And by the way, is the Vauxhall Combo Electric not exactly the same vehicle with the Vauxhall badge?!!

No, these are the generation 1 (PSA) vans, so only made as a Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner (in electric). They use a Japanese powertrain, not too dissimilar to what is in a Mitsubishi i-MiEV. The new Stellantis vans have a similar body, but a completely different powertrain and battery.

I genuinely assumed there was going to be something specific to those Peugeots, just to be pains in the Rse. Like the old fuel cut off switches under the passenger seats.

No, all pretty standard. They use a Japanese powertrain, not too dissimilar to what is in a Mitsubishi i-MiEV

A known!! It happened to my Renault Zoe when I didn’t realise I’d left my lights on!! The following day, I had to go to work and I was unable to get in!!
