In this episode we take you on a tour of the Boot Hill Museum in Dodge City, Kansas. Not only is Dodge City famous for it's own western history with cowboys, outlaws, and such, it is also famous for being a model town for the show, Gunsmoke starring James Arness as Sheriff Matt Dillon. There is even a statue downtown honoring Arness and Ms. Kitty and even Festus are noted in the museum downtown.

What a great museum. Love all the Native American artifacts and gun fight. Butt hair! LOL! The variety show and deputizing the kiddos was fun. Love the old west gunfight shows. Be safe. Bill and DeAnna

If you haven't watched it, you will also our tour of the Buffalo Bill Center of the West museum tour, I can't remember if you watched it or not but it has a huge firearms museum too. Hey friends! This was one of those places we did not know about and it was suggested to us as we were headed back home last summer. It so worth the time and cheap ticket. The kids loved the gunfight. I, Wilson, have always been intrigued by Dodge City and the history behind the city so I had to make a stop. Kelli and the kids really enjoyed the tour as well and it’s a great little stop while in Kansas. We loved all the “Wild West” history there. I work at Boot Hill and for a while now we couldn't figure out who braided the horse's tail in the saddlery. Now we know. I was the marshal for deputizing and the one who got beat up at the end.

Last part of my research there are too Kansas cowboy hall of fame Is housed in museum complex is named of museum after Boot Hill cemetery which sits on north east corner of museum complex Boot Hill common name for cemeteries used to bury gun slingers i. American west term refers to fact men had died with their boots on other word violent manner whether in gun fight or perhaps even by hanging incidents in. 1992 dry good store portion of museum since been rebuilt in 2010 local resident badly burned by flash fired during bull fry bash event at museum following this accident new flyers were purchased as safety measure heritage district plans develop dodge city has embarked on. Plan to develop heritage district which expanding Boot Hill museum old heritage of town heritage district include water park additional hotels new restaurants rv parks thank you for your documentary cultural channel iwish for your channel more success and progress stay safe blessed best wishes for you your dearest ones
