Tel Aviv is a city in which there’s everything. A long Mediterranean coastline, an old part (Jaffa), shiny office buildings, colourful markets and most importantly, incredibly tasty food. I was in the city for two days but they weren’t enough for everything. That’s why the video from Tel Aviv is divided into two parts.
What to do in Tel Aviv? Difficult question but here’s what I did …
In the second part I’m walking around the vibrant Carmel Market (The Shuck Carmel), which is the biggest one in Tel Aviv.
It reminded me of the Women’s Market years ago - big, noisy, vibrant, bustling and full of people. It was teeming with tourists, but also with Israeli people who had come to buy fresh goods. Besides different types of food and spices at the market there are lots of souvenirs, clothes, you name it.
After buying „zaatar“, a spice typical for the Middle East, I went to eat some hummus.
The place is located at the market and really the hummus they serve is unique. I took one with ??? - broad beans puree. I liked it very much!
My walk around the market lasted several hours and it impressed me how fresh all the products on the stalls were.
The market is located not far from the long coastline.
I took a break there.
It was super pleasant and laid-back.
It was time for a new culinary challenge! Before visiting Israel I found out that here, in addition to shawarma (their doner), there’s another very popular sandwich - Sabih - 100 % vegetarian and incredibly tasty. Even the greatest meat fans will appreciate it! It’s made with so many fresh ingredients that complement each other perfectly. Perfectly fried aubergine, hummus, tahini sauce, amba sauce (mango sauce from Iraq), potatoes, boiled egg and lots of vegetables, sauces and spices, oh, and all of this in a pitta bread - juicy, tasty and unforgettable!
After the great sandwich which left a lasting mark on my culinary soul I set off for the coast and the old town. I decided to say bye to Tel Aviv with one last malabi at the flea market. :)
I would gladly take the plane to go to Tel Aviv again!
I am Lora. Have a nice journey!

Do you have tips how to make hummus smooth? :) I make it often but it never gets as smooth as the one I ate in Israel :/

Yeah, the hummus there is one of the best I've tried so far! My tips: if you're able boil the dry and soaked in water (few hours min) chickpeas in water with some soda. When is ready and still warm, peel the chickpeas (one by one :)). Blend the chickpeas with some hot water. If you use ready-made chickpeas, I recommend that it be a jar chickpeas. If you want watch this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/kLRpY7CovKe5kYE.html Let me know if you make it this way! 😉
