Getting a mammogram is important to screen you for breast cancer, but what is it like to get one? When should you go in for your first one? And how often should you get one? Join me as I go in for a mammogram and give you all the details you want to know about what to expect. I also talk about my results and what exactly they mean.
Breast cancer is the #1 diagnosed cancer in the United States and is the #2 cancer killer in women. Talk with your doctor about when you should start doing a screening mammogram and make sure you know what your breasts typically feel and look like so you will be aware if any changes happen to them. Doing a monthly breast self-exam to feel for lumps, distortions, or swelling is another way to watch for cancer.
