Hello I have heard of it but not super common but does for sure happen so you are not alone and more in the start of the start of this journey like you are feeling I would try to check with some doctors that are keto carnivore friendly if its concerning for sure also not sure your current condition size weight etc... and what you are eating in this first week your routine etc... any prior issues extreme diabetes or prior heart issues etc... of course can all matter some so this is just me kind brain dumping for you :) and of course NOT a doctor just trying to share my experience so if its serious or you have some prior conditions there are great doctors out there that are proper human diet friendly one to check out on YT and get some info from is Dr Ovadia ovadiahearthealth.com/ just to you have some info and maybe some info to bring in to a doctor in your back pocket you could say :) some info out there if you google and you can see OK I am not alone :) but its usually getting into ketosis and using that for energy as our bodies change we do experience things change most common would be not enough salt or electrolytes being needed and or dehydration )those kinda get wrapped into one thing) are common causes with the later being a big one since we lower the carbs and by nature do not hold as much water and so much changing not saying to over drink but do make sure you are drinking enough in the start and for salting I stick by the salt to taste your food also salt and sodium are not the same thing sodium is in salt and something we need hence the electrolytes and also some do better on certain electrolytes than others based on those mineral contents i was fortunate and just using pink salt I did fine and while I tried electrolytes for a month I never needed them again this is all so personal but I was salting my food way more than I used to but again it was to taste NOT salting and thinking YUK to much salt I would take a bit and think OK a bit more another bite and be OK a bit more as to not overdo it at first either some will say take electrolytes which is fine but do not overdo them either so just take the 1 serving a day maybe and see how you feel and then if you need to adjust some more or less because some folks do need a bit more and some like myself never needed them ;) does take a bit of personal balancing just like the fat to protein ratio of what we eat over time I take in less fat than I was and feel great but in the start I was super heavy toward the fat side and was one of those consuming fatty meat with almost a stick of butter a day and thriving now butter is pretty rare for me hope that helped and please post how its going (might have to start a new post as replies to current can get lost as they sometimes do not notify me but feel free to post back to this so folks reading this can reply also going to pin this for a bit so I hope others might come across and help you out truly am passionate about this as it change my life and wish you the best and always here to share what I can

I had the same thing. I've just finished day 21. I've had all sorts of unwell feelings; from muscle ache, suffering, feeling faint, heart palpitations, coughing (diagnosed with scaring on lungs), nausea (meat aversion). With the meat aversion, I made sure my electrolytes were at optimum levels and ate leaner meat until it went! Today, day 21, I'm having mental fights in my head! Onward and upwards! God is still on the throne!

I'm 29 years old, I had terrible joints pain for 6 years. I'm 10 days on the carnivore diet, I lost 8 pounds and my pain is 90% gone! The only joint that's still hurt is my knee but it doesn't lock like before 👍 I am in disbelief 😅 Only 10 days made such a difference!
@StelleenBlack
@StelleenBlack Жыл бұрын
@susanwebstersyoutube2385 I was diagnosed at 17, and for over 20 years, it progressively got worse. I was at the point that getting up in the morning and walking was difficult. The meds shaved off the pain but didn't eliminate it. I was desperate for relief. So I went looking for information on anything that might help, and I found Dr Caffee. Within the first week, maybe two. This way of eating already did better than any medication. 3 months in, and I am in no pain, taking zero meds. Yes, it affected me. I was rapidly becoming crippled.

I had diarrhoea for a good 6 months and had lots of joint pain because of oxalate dumping. I persevered and am so glad I did. My weight loss is very slow but I believe my body is doing it's best to heal. I am seeing so many other health benefits, particularly the brain clarity and lifted mood. I, too get nothing from chicken, turkey and pork. I am in my 4th week and have suffered miserably with cravings. Each time I have eaten the thing I think I can not live without - I have paid dearly with headaches, indigestion or insomnia. It is an amazing journey discovering what foods do to me. I am hanging in there but I can say it is not pleasant. When I stay true to the diet I can sleep through the night - which is major for me. I am still on coffee but know I will have to give that up as well. The deprivation is difficult. I also find that when I eat until I am full - to control cravings - I am too full and suffer from overeating. It is all a learning process. I will keep on trying to find my balance. My "why" is to achieve better health and well being. Weight loss would be a definite plus. I have lost 3 pounds at the end of 3 weeks.

Thanks for sharing I have said sometimes testing or trying foods takes away the back of the mind do I still like this as I say takes away all doubt that you might like something And if you do then you know you HAVE to stay away and maybe can test again and find out one day that will also be gone But does seem more things hurt than crave when testing later I have found And the power we develop along the way of so many NOT being good or feeling that little bit of whatever again makes us stronger to resist So I am all for testing things IF you truly know yourself and WONT get sucked back in :) And the chicken pork thing is interesting you notice that quickly but does show for me and you and others Something about it is not for us :) To the over eating I reckon that might come in time as it sounds like you know whats happening :) Thanks again :)

Thanks for the tips. I had some "snaking, grazing" cravings last night. Not even for anything in particular, just to be eating something. Hard boiled eggs and frozen cream are great ideas. Thanks for touching on coffee as well. I don't think I could give that up yet but I am curious to try further down the line. Nice to hear you got an even greater improvement from that. I'm only a week in and I've already seen an improvement in my sleep and overall mood (that was immediate). I feel way sharper for way longer, without that midday/afternoon lull. It's been a insane improvement after only a week, I wasn't expecting it to be so noticeable so soon. Flip side, my stomach as been pretty sore most of the time and I've had on and off nausea (one episode of vomiting, I think because I ate too much fat), a complete lack of apatite while at the same time feeling like I'm starving to death (super weird combo). I can't wait to adjust properly. I'm really expecting great things now :)

Strange , but I now actually enjoy feeling hungry. My main problem was sugar addiction and using food in the same way an alcoholic uses drink. Feeling bad I would eat stuff to feel better which I did momentarily and then suffer regret and feel worse than I did. Carnivore has been great for my health , but it's the mental benefits that I am most thankful for. Even when I am having a bad day , I can cope with it so much more easily and I no longer use food as an emotional crutch. I feel more of a Man in that I feel stronger physically and mentally.

Thank you for this video. I'm 3 weeks in. Although i am on an ideal weight (71 kg 184cm tall) i am getting shredded and my abs are sticking out which is great Sadly that's the only positive thing i can say for now. The diarrhea is awful. My sleep is bad. My energy low. My hips hurt for some reason (never happened). My mental health issues are not at all improving nor is my skin. I jumped straight in with no proper transition from a high carb low fat diet so i know it's a big shock for my body. I had zero slip ups in these 3 weeks and I'm proud. I'm determined to keep going and hopefully I'll start seeing some real benefit soon.

I've watched a ton of these videos and for low energy people say to make sure you're getting enough fat and possibly more importantly that you're getting enough electrolytes. Especially if you've got diarrhea then you're probably dehydrated af. Sodium, potassium and magnesium. I've heard one guy report that once he introduced organ meats into the diet he got all his energy back. The initial shitiness would have been withdrawals, but you should be over the withdrawals by week 3. Keep in mind that like 80-95% of people see improvements in pretty much all areas. But that leaves the 5-20% that don't.

❤🙋🏼‍♀️ Hello, I’m Julie from Alabama. I enjoyed your video. Thank you!!! I’m 9 weeks on BBBE. I haven’t had the success like you and everyone else. I still feel like crap!!! I’m a type 2 with high BS. I believe I’m healing from the inside out and it’s just going to take time for my body to start letting go of fat!!! When I started, I weighed 306#. Now weigh only 299.6. But I’ve lost inches! I’m starting to walk, so maybe I’ll start seeing some lower BS and weight loss! I’ll be glad when I start feeling better!! My body has no choice but to change and get healthy! ❤

As a cake baker its been a challenge when an order comes in. I have decided to stop baking and stop taking orders because even tthinking about a cake design seems to stall my progress. Yhe last cake i made was my daughters q7th moss mushroom fairy cake its was amazing. A white chocolate myd cake and white chocolate genach flavoured with peppermint. I didnt have anything to eat til after the party was over and so much left i felt i should at least taste it to see how it turned out and one small piece went to 2. Then a small piece each day tol it went. It was a big slip up monthand my headaches and body pains straight back and stopped me from leaving home. So i decided it was just another painful lesson clear to remind me of how important living a carnivore diet really is for me. Im healing many auto immune conditions including diabetes so vital i make tough life changing decisions. My health and ultimately my life depends on it. What pthers eat is their business and what i eat is my business. We must be the captian of our own ship and manage what direction to sail and not let the winds of life stall or sidetrack us. Incidentally, Im going into my 5th month now and my resolve and eating patterns are set and im loving the carnivore way and discovering what a real appetite is and how meat, eats, salt, butter satisfy the soul and body best. Im so greatful to now know the secret to a healthy way of eating. I love and apprecaite all the brave and clever youtubers making videos testifying to this winning way. 😊

thanks and very true about our own ship :) doing a vid on the cheating term :) I am not a fan of it hahahaha but also the fact yeah if we pay the price we learn is how I started to look at it when I was doing keto :) a bad analogy but kinda works is for some that went to college and put all that money into a degree they never used ! what a waste :) but I do think when they look back they realize it was NOT the degree it was the college life they learned from so as we look back once we are ahead of that treat or down to our goal and maintaining we realize even the slip ups had a purpose we maybe needed to truly learn if that makes sense :)

That's so good advice about converting cream into an ice-cream like treat. I actually hardly use cream or double cream even though I always love the taste. Even though it has very little sugar in it, it always tastes like a desert. Now I started Keto on the way to Carnivore, I'm going to experiment with single and double cream in my tea as a milk replacement. I did several searches and there is conflicting information on which has more carbs and sugar between single and double cream but it seems double cream has slightly less. Also, in your talks I think it would be helpful in your videos when you mention how it would be good to eventually phase out foods like cheese and coffee if you could explain why for those of us just starting on the journey and still don't know the nutritional/diet factors of each food type.
@MinimalistCarnivore
@MinimalistCarnivore Жыл бұрын
yeah, it really helped me get through it and now don't crave it or care :) but giving up stuff can be tough and that comfort is a huge mental thing :) easy to say " Oh, just quit but for some it's tough :) hahahahah not as familiar with the single or double? but the whipping cream as we call it is often the better more fat less lactose and better than the less fatty stuff :) will try to convey that more so thanks :) I think the main reason is just so you truly KNOW if it is what is bugging you or stalling or you have some other effect and then you can decide if you want to quit or enjoy it ! or maybe find you can enjoy it in small amounts and not be affected so maybe to say test if and know for sure what it's doing or not doing to you :) and I do say repeat that every year as I noticed long term some things I did get in such good shape I now notice those negatives more my analogy might be playing a musical instrument When you first start most anything will do and you cant tell the difference of an expensive instrument but as you get better you also might realize you like certain ones that have a certain sound for whatever reason :) not a guitar guy but had friends who are and I know they are very particular hope that analogy made some sense :)

I had already started going keto and had slipped back into old snacking habits. Got back into eating better and found carnivore. I'm one week in. The only red meat I had eaten before was a couple burgers a month. Otherwise I was on chicken breast and veggies mostly. I'm finding the red meat super filling I'm eating like once or twice a day, probably only around half a pound each time. My joints feel so much better and I experience amazing brain clarity. I'm lucky to have already trained myself out of sweets and had already discovered the benefits of not drinking coffee. I hope the journey continues along smoothly. Feels great so far.

I am in my first month of this journey. Thank you for the information and tips!!! My problem is I have many food allergies and sensitive. The only meat I can eat is turkey, egg whites and salmon. Pork gives me so much swelling as well as beef. Though I am trying different grass fed beef brands hoping that one will not cause any symptoms. My struggle is making sure I get enough fat each day. After about a week I am finding my cravings slowly going away while not denying myself of any foods I crave. I feel so much better and am improving each day with less pain and stiffness. Losing weight would be nice but I am tickled pick of how well I am feeling. Thank you!!

actually being allergic to beef is pretty rare and associated with a tick bite usually :) it might be some histamine response that is getting you? but yeah I have severe allergies so don't do spices etc. few thoughts :) so beef or meat that is not aged is best lamb or goat? as often that is not wet aged like beef? avoiding longer cooked foods like roasts is always good or try a local rancher and see if you can get some beef that would not be aged might be some tips I do think many look to much at only weight and realize this can offer so much more and the weight will come off just takes time but enjoy the other wins of feeling better from joints to mental clarity etc.. tough spot but sounds like you are figuring it out :) best of luck for sure !

just found your channel. been on keto/carnivore off and on for 5 years. \ lost over a hundred pounds, cured my type 2, inflammation was gone, felt like a 20 year old and had the strength and flexibility of a 30 year old. everything was great in the healthy range. this is after a heart attack when i weighted 315 and up pounds. bypass of course. update! the last six months, i fell off the carnivore life. seduced by pizza toppings only. then maybe a small piece of bread. after all, i am a carnivore. Boom! a 50 pound gain in six months,. did not see it coming, my carb monster was back. no joke, i was walking by a full length mirror two weeks ago, i looked like i was in the last month of a having a baby today, i have no idea how much i lost. i stopped weighting myself and only look at results. so back on keto/carnivore life mission. a rough start with the keto flu. as my body was screaming for carbs. two weeks in, i found out when i eat eggs, i get a chest rash. had it for most of my life. so it seems i am heading to beef and water plus salt. had my blood done, numbers are good, yes my cholesterol is high ldl, however my other numbers are great, type 2 is now around 4.6=5 as long as i leave diet coke alone. really! i hope it pleases the heavens, i can not have diet coke.

I started carnivore exactly 4 weeks ago, coming from keto. I also do alternate day fasting which I just started this week, as I am getting down to the last 20 lbs or so that I want to lose. I will say... I was shocked as how much I had the carnivore flu considering I was coming from keto, but even dropping from 20 to virtually 0 net carbs a day, I had a terrible reaction for a few days due to electrolyte imbalances. I had shaking, confusion, panic attacks, muscle twitching and heart palpitations. I also realized that the magnesium I got was minimum of three pills a day, and I was only taking one, so my magnesium was super low. Once I got my magnesium corrected and salted my water for a few days, I started to feel soooo much better. Right now, the struggle is sleep. I know with fasting, that can be an issue and it hopefully will resolve sooner rather than later. But now, I feel calmer and more at ease, and the energy is great. Just gotta get a full night of sleep at some point! 😅

Thanks for sharing Interesting how you had so much keto flu going carnivore while mine was only at the start of the keto and was smooth coming into carnivore :) So thanks again this is the sharing all that we all experience so others can see its NOT all the same we each have our own unique journey :) I never did electrolytes but did salt quite heavy which was to my taste at the time also ate a ton of nuts that had salt ? Does seem electrolytes are something that folks need or seem to get along without which again is interesting and good to know for others Hope the sleep starts to get better :) and curious if you are drinking coffee at all ? For me that was a game changer in time I slept but carnivore overall helped me sleep longer and did find those full 7-8 hour sleeping nights are superior to the lower hours which I can do BUT again not as good as the 7-8 that I do best with Superior in I feel better all day long also do feel I could workout or hike better and do think I lost more weight on those good sleep weeks but that is just me thinking no actual data but there is some data out there that shows sleep is HUGE for weight loss :) Thanks again for sharing

I think sometimes we focus so much on just the weight and we want that to be gone so also focus on those other things :) if its just the hard not to snack that is a tough one and a few little tricks I did like the frozen cream in silicone molds or making a waffle out of pork rinds and egg :) I would take pork rinds and crush them to a panko crumb consistency and then maybe use a heaping spoon full and a egg mix it together had this little dash waffle maker its like 4 inches and then put the mixture in there :) you can put in pepperoni and mozzarella for a pizza flavor or bacon and chedar and they make a great bun for a burger if craving that ! or use them for eggs Benedict !

I’m 51. I’ve only been on carnivore for 5 weeks. My clarity, energy and drive have drastically increased. I used to take a lot of stimulants. I rarely take them now and I suspect I won’t take them at all in the near future. I had become depressed and lazy. No more! Give it a shot for 30 days. Cut out cheese and add everything else. If you do, please respond to this and tag me. I’d love to hear how you’re doing. You’ve got this man!!

During the day I would just start coughing uncontrollably....now gone. Agree with the scale. I go by clothes and how they fit. Totally agree with chicken...totally lost my taste for it. The productive cough and uncontrollable cough have been present since then and have gone almost completely away. I think it was Chaffee that recommended the caffeine pills. 69 years old, day 34 here. Started out with eggs in the a.m. and beef later in the day. First 10 days felt great, then the detox really set in and have pretty much felt like crap since. I believe it is a massive candida die-off issue for me. Could no longer stand the eggs or trying to do 2 meals, so have just been on beef and butter OMAD. Have had a lot of trouble wanting to eat at all, have had to kind of choke down as much beef as possible, often that has not been all that much, but some days it is good and I get a solid amount down without problem. Started taking electrolytes and digestive enzymes about 10 days ago. Just now adding probiotics. Benefits so far: probably about 20 lbs or so down ( about 60 total needed more or less); zero cravings since the beginning and I was always in a state of food obsession and cravings; psoriasis lessoning, fingernails getting stronger; skin less dry, no more flaky lower legs; sleeping fantastic, lots of REM dreamtime; hips way less sore; no more scratchy throat or phlegm; improved gum health, extreme reduction of hemmorhoids. Difficulties so far: did have a few days of diarrhea; acid stomach many hours after meal; still some bloating; lots of discharge TMI; aversion to food; absolutely devestating lack of energy, and profound weakness. clearly more good than bad, and some of the worst of the bad is beginning to lighten up, although the energy remains a big problem. Thankfully I have the time and space to just rest and do my best and allow the process to unfold. Still excited about achieving high quality health!

I can hear this in Dr Chaffee voice :) if the meat is not tasting good stop ! I often would eat very little one day and a ton the next sometimes a lot 3 days and then 3 days of barely for me its more the eat when hungry and eat to satiety and if that is not a lot and you are truly not hungry I am with many that says that is your body saying dont eat :) so I might suggest that simple if not hungry dont eat dont try to force it and see how it goes :) 20 lbs in 34 days is great ! for the energy weak also many will say try electrolytes as carbs need a ton of water meat not so much so you tend to loose a lot of water and not hold it the same so drink that and plenty water I salted to taste but noticed my body wanted more salt which helped ! for sure a mental shift on those little things we have to go through yeah the trust the process is so easy to say :) until you are rushing to the head and as Joe Rogan said have jet fuel coming out your bum ! but yeah I have no gallbladder so I know the going to the head all to well as I find the balance and still struggle going over !

@@MinimalistCarnivore Thanks so much for your response! This is such an awesome community! The reason i have forced some bits of food down is because the first time I just didn't feel like food, I followed that advice to just not eat. But when I got up the next morning I had a very frightening episode of suddenly being very woozy, weirded out vision and I nearly passed out. thankfully a chair right there. It was several hours before I could get up and walk across the room very carefully. In the last few weeks, the aversion to food has been more often than not... but I'm not risking that response to extended fasting again. I think different people will have very different responses to such a big demand for change in the body. I mean, I have no idea what this "oxylate dumping" thing is, but I do know about extreme candida die-off, and how it can put you down. Just gotta ride out the storm, I guess. I actually think it would be interesting to gather testimonies on the different struggles various people have had and the individual processes and needs for getting through them. LOL! Thank goodness the diarrhea only lasted a couple of days for me! Chao!

I believe I am in month 4 (did not make note of when I started). I had transitioned from Keto to carnivore so I did not have a lot of the issues many have when going straight into carnivore. First thing that happened was my joint pain was gone and my feet no longer hurt. The wait has been melting off! I do not own a scale so I don't know how much I weigh, but when I saw a doctor about a month ago for an insect bite I came in at less than half a pound over 200. (the nurse said that was probably the weight of my clothes so I was under 200 😉) I had not seen that weight for a good many years! Thankfully, we had a steer butchered late last year. He wasn't huge, a dairy breed, but having him in the freezer helps a lot! Unfortunately, my husband is stuck in his ways. He has been eating the same way all his life and does not have a weight issue. It would be easier (and cheaper) if I could get him on carnivore like me, but he believes his doctors over me.

I feel lied to and cheated about our current health also makes me wonder WHY and does seem to lead back to following the money and just eating meat takes out these HUGE mega-wealthy food companies pushing the stuff in packages that can live on our shelves for a LONG time as being healthy

Hi Chad. Nice to "meat" you. 😊 New subscriber. 6 years ago I was 247 pounds and dropped to 184 in 6 months on keto. I have since gone up to around 195 give or take a couple. It's due to caving in to carbs. Well, today is 3 weeks zero carb. I only eat sardines, bacon, clean brats with no corn syrup, ground beef, and homemade beef jerky. Only drink water. For 2 weeks recently I fasted 16-8. I work out hard 6 days per week and jump rope 7 days per week. I am 69 years old, 5' 10". After all that, I stay at around 195, and I believe that's too heavy. And I have left over belly fat I haven't been able to get rid of from being so heavy before. I believe I should be losing weight and do not understand why I'm not. I know the brats and homemade beef jerky have spices in them which aren't pure carnivore, but it doesn't seem like that would cause weight loss stalling. Sorry for the novel. Any thoughts on my situation would be appreciated! Thanks!

@@MinimalistCarnivore yep, after five years of losing and feeling great, i started bring back carbs. gained 60 pounds. so i had/have a decision to make. a longer or at least a healthy life, or carbs. yes the diet is boring, but we are talking about our lifespan. i choose lifespan, at 62 i have traveled every walk you can think of. military, around the world, saw every nasty event humans are capable of. my past is to let me know. what i did not want in my life. i wanted a long life. so i did all of the following. fitness freak, you bet. six foot blonde, body builder. spent so much off time, in the gym, should have moved a bed in. then i stopped, got lazy. two years to be a overweight eating my life away. 315 pounds. back to almost ideal weight. folks it will be tough. you will miss out on family events, you will stick out like a sore thumb. they will ask why are you, avoiding food like pasta. just smile, and tell them you are following a diet, that is helping you heal. they will of course ask what it heals. just say with a smile. @@charlielamb4606 loved reading that :) I do know many do this as an elimination diet when I ask why would you want to bring it back in what got you here? its often I miss this or that ? its like an endless loop and I am OK with doing what makes them happy and some can reintroduce and keep in control! so not including those folks ;) just to be clear but for many that do gain it back I feel would be best to just leave the old behind and make this the new standard :) myself included as I KNOW I was over 275 lbs I WILL NOT go back no way! I also KNOW I can have a single cupcake and not binge BUT why would I want to as I also know I will feel it for a few days post? so just why? not me but many say this feeling good all day long every day is superior to the moment you eat something last say 5 minutes vs the maybe hours or days of NOT feeling good has to be learned by themselves! again enjoyed that well said! these days if someone at an event says OK come on have a whatever why not I just do this stand back and kinda do this hand sweep across me and say look at this NO WAY am I going to eat that I used to and got fat! if history with them/know them I just do the swipe and say it's why I look like this now! now friends true friends do not even bother as they are true friends and respect what I do :) as I do them

I know that look all too well. It's not about you. It's about their own fear & the possibility that for them to get the great results you're getting they will have to one day give up their carb gods & begin or return to eating MEAT. Focus on your own sacred journey. 7 months into this I'm not telling a lot of people anymore. Not because the excitement has wore off (because it's actually increased), but because I'm at a different level of deep gratitude & Self-awareness about this choice.

I seem to be headed in that direction. Starting weight was 134.6. That was at the higher end of "normal" BMI and weight range for me ( female). Tomorrow is day 14 of carnivore and I am down 8.8 lbs. Current weight 125.8. I just can not consume more food. Most days, I end up doing OMAD because I get physically uncomfortable ( too full) from the one meal. I am considering adding in Okios PRO greek yogurt ( vanilla). It does have 9g of carbs per serving but it also packs 23g of protein. It may be worth trying to add some weight back without going completely off the rails. You can look up the ingredients and nutrition information online. Hope you find your healthy balance.

@@phoenixspirit9530 Carnivore you do lose water or not retain is a better way to say it my thought is how do you feel? also for the yogurt stevia would be good to avoid and choose the plain might be the better choice if ya can :) with no stevia many try to keep about a 70% fat intake or 1:1 by weight because the fat has more calories it comes out about that 70% but to much protein is often used for cutting more weight so with the yogurt now that going in :) Dr Baker if you know who he is is cutting now down to about 60% fat and is eating Greek yogurt to help? not saying DONT eat it but that fat of only 3% to 20g protein is kinda low :) check out Fage 5% plain 9g of fat to 15g of protein might be a better yogurt choice? just my thoughts based on those ratios also NO sweeteners no tapioca starch etc. .either :) again I am kinda critical these days :)

@@MinimalistCarnivore I feel much better than I did on SAD. Im going to give the very long version of how I found Carnivore...Hope you dont mind. Im currently 53, Gallbladder gone 20yrs.eating fat has been an issue for me ever since. Anxiety, Reflux, mild OCD. Have Rx meds , don't take them unless I absolutely have to ( very rare). My primary doctor is well aware that I am always looking to fix the root of the problem rather than just treat the symptoms. So far, I haven't had much luck dealing with the doctor. Last winter, I kind of fell upon Carnivore by happenstance. Back in mid January of this year, I had an operation to remove a smallish mass that I had found on my hip the previous October. During testing it was found to be cancerous. That surgery * they got it all, left me with a very large and deep open wound that required a wound vac. I asked my oncologist (pre- surgery ) what I could do to help the wound heal faster ? Note: I am impatient, on the go most of the time and did not want to be toting that machine around. As much as it was necessary , I found it to be extremely inconvenient. I wanted to heal as quickly as possible and be done with the machine and my ( awesome and wonderful) visiting nurse. I just wanted back to normal daily life. My oncologist told me to eat high protein. That was it. I began to immediately look for high protein foods within my SAD. While eating what i thought was good, I kept researching. I found low carb/ high protein, then I found Keto. I quickly began doing Keto and cut a lot of " healthy" carbs ( high protein, whole grain breads etc). I did not eat any stuff pre packaged or that was labeled and marketed as Keto- friendly. Mostly just whole food. I did keep that yogurt and wild blueberries, nuts, bell pepper, onion, legumes and cheese within reason. Just cutting out the majority of highly refined and processed "food". Along came the leg cramps, foot cramps restless sleep and the dreaded keto rash. That rash was awful. The itch started at back of hairline and around my ears and I about flipped out. I had my adult son and teenage daughter go through my hair looking for " fleas" aka...lice. 😂 Thankfully it wasn't. Next day it started creeping down my neck, then my back, chest and some on my shoulders and upper arms. I figured out what it was and it took weeks to get rid of it. Im convinced the yogurt helped. Maybe im just delusional..idk 🤔 🙂. Regardless, I kept Keto-ish. Gradually cutting more and more variety of the carbs that I was consuming.That wound ( 12" L x 8 " W x 3" deep) was completely healed in 12 weeks. Wound vac was taken off by week 8. The visiting nurse was astonished every visit at how quickly I was healing. I never quit researching the nutrition information and eventually stumbled into Carnivore. I know now that it works. I was able to visibly watch it work as I healed. I Watched a lot of videos and I wasn't sure it was something I could maintain. I was information gathering. I let the seed be planted. After getting the " All clear " from more post surgery testing, imaging and follow up and with my oncologist, I fell off the Keto/ Carnivore train. I don't remember how or why it happened, but it did. Found myself back at the SAD. I had some internal dialogue, I had my WHY ? Then suddenly ,one day 2 wks ago, I decided in the moment, Im going to try out Carnivore. The digestion and absorption of high fat is going to be the biggest hurdle ( no gallbladder ). I have had some muscle twitching in one calf but no full blown cramps. For some reason that calf was very tender for a few days. I had one horrible night last week where I couldn't sleep because EVERYTHING was just absolutely annoying me. Head started getting itchy again, the legs of my PJ pants were riding just a bit too far up my calf and I had to put on shorts, the fact that my hair was touching my neck, twitchy calf muscle, up to urinate 4x. It was just that one night. I am actually keeping track of foods, times im eating, symptoms and anything that I may want to look back on...Just incase I need help figuring out what needs adjusting. I listen to many of the Carnivores here on YT. I have had NO cravings for sweets, chips, bread or any of that. No stress / emotional eating. I don't think I could if I tried. One meal usually keeps me full all day. If im hungry, I eat. If I'm not, I don't. The times I try to force it, I feel sick from being too full. I Rarely eat before 11am-12pm. Main things I've been consuming are Eggs, bacon, some pork sausage, 80/20 ground beef, chuck roast, bacon grease, butter, some pepperoni and cheese on really busy days. I have kept some condiments ( used sparingly) for the time being .. dill pickles, Frenchs mustard, Franks hot sauce. I did make a Buffalo chicken dip using just chicken, cream cheese, cheddar cheese and hot sauce ...I ate it with a fork. I'm having a hard time getting in enough protein ( 120g) and not feeling too stuffed. I honestly don't even know what to do about the fat intake as my body is very quick to reject fat. I am trying . I have heard that time may help the issue but its been 20 yrs and no luck so far. That is unless a low dose of Imodium ( 1/2 tab) is involved and I keep that handy for very rare occasions. I have also recently heard that bile salts may help. I haven't tried it yet. 🤫 ...Also haven't given up my Diet Coke. All - in - all....Im feeling pretty great. Its a process and there's a learning curve. I figure, Progress in baby steps toward carnivore is better than a giant leap into the dark abyss of a Party size bag of cheddar and sour cream Ruffles 😁. Really looking forward to the health and healing benefits of Carnivore. Maybe 🤞 some body recomposition. Started doing strength training at home ( again). Thanks for the tip on the yogurt 🙂👍

many come into this through keto I did also :) at least you were trying clean keto :) which was good I will say ditch the diet coke big time IMHO make a plan cut it down get rid of it :) I have no gallbladder :) try the bile salts I would say they ddi not work for me ? also look up TUDCA it works for some this is a test and test again thing but worth trying I can say I do have a fat limit and I know when I go over and I am sure you know what I mean :) the recent thing I am testing that seems to help me is cheese ? but the downsides are inflammation and that can cause weight gain etc. so its trying to find what cheese and I have tried a lot almost gave up so this last week I said OK lets mix things up no more butter and introduce only aged cheeses only from A2 cows :) did A2 before but was swiss etc.. also did test goat cheese was OK for inflammation as in not great but less than others but did not work as well for helping me with my no gallbladder well one of the aged I have is not a2 ? oh well but the others are parmesan and gruyere and a ged gouda eating about 4 oz with my meal till satiated and its working OK so far but testing is far from over now my plan is to slowly reduce it and see where it needs to be at the idea is the least amount for best results :) of course I have to balance the pros and cons if it starts buging me to much not sure what I will do but cross that bridge if it comes :) I think we have to be careful with dairy and many give it up BUT for me with no gallbladder I am going to see if I can use the cheese to help where ox bile and tudca did not my dinner through a 4 hour window worked kind? but was a hassle and took to long the eating leaner than eating some butter every hour for 6 or so hours kinda worked but again hassle and could easily go BOOM and go over the eating 2MAD was kinda working and maybe what I will do if this cheese does not work out the way I want to so yeah experiment with things and maybe try some aged cheese :) also to close with eggs :) I ate them early on but when I would eat eggs I notice my skin would start itching ? and sure enough many have issues with whites and i was eating like 12 at a time ! now some would say just eat 4 but my thinking is if I eat 4 most likely I am having some resoonse just not enough to notice and I would rather have NO response small enough in my body at all even if I do not notice it! hope that makes sense ? so yeah tested eggs every 6 months or so and I am getting more tolerant but after a week the itchy skin comes back ? again not saying that is you and the itch but maybe test the eggs out stop and see if it changes ? best of luck always here to try to help and take care :)

HI Ias I say I did not quit coffee till 2 years in :) and then I noticed the difference if you can great if not do not worry about it tackle that later might be easier as coffee is so hard to stop and its such a part of our lives as a hard core expresso guy I know it was for me so I really do not think its a huge deal as you are going to have a LOT of change coming so try in a year if you can't try again the next year :) that is how I look at it but at some point say year 3 stop for 3 months (if you can't earlier) and just see how you feel and when you try it again notice how you feel and then decide if you are OK with it or not :) and even then I might say try once a year and see if you finally notice it worse case I say you find you can stop and that is a great feeling of being in control of our food drink intake :) thanks again and you can do this just keep moving forward you hear the expression progress over perfection just keep it moving day by day :)

HI I think the start just do your best as coffee is tough to kick :) so just enjoy IF you get stalls and things are not moving as well try to stop the cream in the coffee or reduce as an example of changing as we move along the journey At some point try to stop coffee see how you feel :) and decide to keen enjoying or not For me was not until 2 years into my carnivore I found coffee was a negative so kept drinking until that time so truly am just day by day and test and evaluate things I quit eating eggs as I had such bad allergies to them My recent test now 5 years in I found I can eat them again :) WOW never thought I would be able to do that Eggs are fine UNLESS you do not feel as good with them so good to try to stop things as you did and see how you feel so good on ya to test and stop the cheese as example for now most likely have quicker results and you can always bring back those items later on and try see how you feel I do think long term results over years for me and some others just keep getting better :) Thanks and enjoy and keep at it :)

My tip for when you're losing so much weight that your clothes are no longer fitting is to shop the thrift store. I don't mind paying under $10 for something I know won't fit in a couple months. I also look for things with size allowance like pants need to either have decent belt loops or they must be drawstring. For me, there is a significant size difference between the hip/thigh/bum area and my waist. If I bought pants to fit my waist - I wouldn't be able to get them up over my knees but buying to fit over the hips makes the gap in the waistband far too big to be realistic. This is where a belt or a drawstring is essential! LOL It can be very costly to have to replace most (if not all) of your wardrobe every few months so thrifting is a great option to help out with that. When you are closer to/ or at your goal size - that's when you can buy "investment" type clothing if you haven't been bitten by the thrifting bug! LOL Heather xo

Yes, after 7 months my fatigue is starting to lift, joint pain is less, brain fog is less, all wonderful changes that I've waited for, for over 2 decades. I know why I'm not doing better, it's the coffee; a tablespoon of sugar with milk, 2-3 times a day. I am not an addictive person, and find it so odd that I know I need to quit but can't/wont, I'm not sure which one it is. It's instant coffee that I went to as regular coffee has too much acid for my stomach. I will eventually quit, once I get my energy back. Until then, the burning question is, why do I need it? Currently, I am doing a parasite cleanse. The large capsules are hard to swallow (shrunken esophagus) so I bought a 900g of vanilla yogurt...ate most of it in one sitting, it was so good! Fortunately, it's only another week before the dose is finished, but I hope I don't binge again, until then. But I learned sugar is powerful against the mind, that quickly weakened. Thank you for this very interesting video.

I was more an espresso guy sometimes Moka pot but maybe to help kick that sugar and milk have you tried cream? maybe that can help you kick the sugar thing or instead use a teaspoon and in a week go to half a teaspoon? nudge nudge with a smile :) I don't drink or smoke I even hated taking allergy pills and generally never would! so yeah not addictive type here also! besides coffee :) and I have said before often for me it was that ritual of making espresso the smell the intense flavor the thinking about it the slow down of that moment I liked it so much but saying the addiction to coffee is tough to say out loud :) again took me to the 2-year mark! I still do think its worth stopping for 3 months to gain control of it and then decide and test again some truly can be fine with it but I wonder did they test it ever year to really know ? I know Dr Baker has said he has a small amount of plain greek yogurt plain in small amounts in one of his recent vids ? he seems to think it's OK my wife gets that and I do have a spoonful once in a while with no issues might be worth looking into? wife gets the Fage brand and it says 5% on it vs the fat-free I think the 5% is way better

@@MinimalistCarnivore I did try commercial "cream" but it's not real enough anymore. It does not have the properties of real cream, and kinda scares me what they are making it with these days. Real cream in northern Canada is gold, and not available to the average folk even from farms. I guess I need to learn more about addiction as to me, one item is not a true addiction. Others I see have addictive personalities that seem to set them apart from people like you and I. Ah, well, maybe one day the light bulb will come on for me😅. Thankfully, I am fine without yogurt otherwise. It really surprised me what the body did while I was eating it tho. It was like a hormone kicked into high gear and said I need more! But it really didn't, lol. The brain is involved somehow and it is a trigger to be watchful of, in my case.

Dropped to 213 this morning. I will see how this goes the next few weeks. I am 6' tall, so I think 180ish is the goal. Hopefully that also means the visceral fat will be very low also.
