I've spent some time with Jalen Milroe this off-season and will continue to do so throughout the year. Here are 3 plays that might back up some of this early Heisman talk.

Seth McLaughlin really tried to hurt Milroe every chance he had

Seth singlehandedly cost Alabama the title last year. There I said it. Yeah yeah it's a team sport but the center has one of the most crucial jobs on the field. If you can't snap the ball to your qb the offense gets out of rhythm and can't work. Without a bad snap, Alabama isn't forced into the gravedigger play vs Auburn. Without a bad snap, Alabama beats Michigan and likely goes on to defeat Washington. I can't believe Ohio State has been bragging about getting him in the portal and actually blamed Milroe for his poor play. They're in for a rude awakening this year if he starts.

Jalen mostly struggled in short yardage situations. Wasn’t proficient at moving the chains and sometimes looked for the home run too often. I am very optimistic that Deboer can bring the best out of Jalen and take his game up a notch. If that’s the case sky’s the limit.

Barring major injury, Jalen will win the Heisman. He will flourish under DeBoer's schemes, and won't have the fear of being yanked if he makes a mistake.

If he does have a heisman candidate worthy season it’s gonna be hard for teams to pass on him in the draft cuz he’ll absolutely demolish the combine if he goes.

Yes, Saban is the greatest of all time, but he constantly coaches defense and Milroe had a 30 year old coordinator who never coached a talent like Milroe! As a Bama fan for life I'm praying the oline gives Milroe time and he does have a Heisman season!! ROLL TIDE BAMA NATION!!

Hope he can flourish under Coach DeBoer and the Tide can roll further than all the naysayers think this coming season ! There could certainly be struggles, but I think the tools for success are there and ultimately I think the program will continue to do well.

Atlanta Falcons Penix video would be much appreciated. Curious if Penix would have been able to succeed if he was the starter this season as a "pro-ready" QB and what he might look like a few years from now when he has NFL coaching under his belt and takes over the reigns from Cousins.
