I think that a strong arm makes up for a lot of problems on these broken plays. It should be the case that usually, if a pass play goes off schedule, usually the receivers will end up further down the field than they normally would. And a QB usually has to throw on the run and/or off platform too. Josh has a ball speed running right of 62 MPH but a phenomenal speed of 59 when he runs left, where the average QB I think is 55 to the strong side. So Josh is over 12 percent higher than average if the numbers in my head are right. But when a QB has to throw under such bad conditions, if he has a strong arm, he can get the ball quicker to a spot which is probably crucial in this scenario to fit it in a tight window. Obviously Mahomes and Herbert are similar and Trevor isn’t far behind.

I’ve never seen an above view of a play like Josh makes here but it should be the case that the ball truly curves in the XY plane. If you look at the ball it still has the velocity vector of the quarterback running - the ball is traveling with Josh - plus the vector of the ball thrown if the QB were stationary. So on that first play you’re totally right because if Josh throws to where he normally would he’d miss right so I believe he actually has to throw left a bit to compensate for that drift. I could actually write out the equations for the ball flight here if I wanted to, making some basic assumptions, but I think I’ll pass today - pun intended. (You could just parameterize the X, Y, and Z values as a function of t and create a set of equations. I’m not sure how messy it would be. But the Z value wouldn’t matter much other than to the receiver and quarterback really.)

If Shedeur didn't have Deion he'd be an also-ran. He has flashes of talent, but we wouldn't be talking about Sundays, much less #1 overall. Best of luck to the Buffaloes next season - we'll see if they managed to address the line issues. They can't have him keep taking hits all season - that's for sure.

Jalen mostly struggled in short yardage situations. Wasn’t proficient at moving the chains and sometimes looked for the home run too often. I am very optimistic that Deboer can bring the best out of Jalen and take his game up a notch. If that’s the case sky’s the limit.

Nice to mention Mahomes success AFTER taking up over 15% of the cap. The rest of the league can’t even beat him with that handicap, so not seeing how the next tier of QBs fair when THEY take over 15%. Mahomes greatest challenge over the next decade will not be from Jackson, Allen, or Burrow; it will be from an exceptional QB on his rookie deal starring with Stroud this year, and Williams likely next year, and then Arch Manning, etc.

If you ever played competitive football you would know that you’re so competitive you play through the pain and know one knows until you can’t hide it anymore! That’s why you hear about all the surgeries at the end of the season. Look at Weaver we didn’t know he was hurt until he missed the game.

I agree with the assessment. Dead on…but take in consideration that these games, Shedeur was was beat up from taking the amount of sacks that he took. He’s back and neck. So his base was off before the snap. Not to mention his center was very inconsistent with the snap throughout the year. Both centers struggled. Great job JB. Fan of your training/Camps. My nephew has attended the last couple of years.

He holds ball 2 long, has weaker deep ball, checks every play, and is slow on reads. All this can improve. Some could b lack of good oline.
@antonioollison51249 күн бұрын
He’s known for having a big arm, great deep ball, and great accuracy. he doesn’t like check downs which is why he holds the ball too long. He had the worst o line so I doubt he could get to his later reads consistently
@DB-rw9ld9 күн бұрын
Only correct statement is holding the ball too long ( trying for big play and not checking the ball down) he reads defenses better than most QBs in college especially the top 3. He has the most accurate deep ball of any of the QB in college and he checked the ball down the least amount of all the QBs with over 3K passing. I get Shedeur needs to fix things but let be factual with it. I appreciate Jordan Palmer for being honest.
