We all learn more about death, dying or passing away thru experience. Volunteer for an Assisted living. Gather a group of Senior Citizens & talk about their fears, thoughts & anticipated past life experiences with them & boy will you experience & learn a lot about death, dying, or out of body endeavors. Like myself, I never say dead or died I've always used the word, Passing or passed away. It seems that I can relate & understand that term so much better. For instance we must Pass in High School to recieve a Diploma in order to move on to a higher level & go to college. Therefore we must Pass life's expectations in order to Pass on to a highest level in the ultimate course of Life's endurance test, which is Heaven but we must Pass❤. Who wouldn't want to receive their crown 👑 that they've earned⁉️

Should I one day be in hospice I hope it is not my misfortune to have a nurse, or any other caregiver who decides to foist their religion onto me especially at such a difficult time.

Maybe - just maybe - some of us have been traumatized enough during a lifetime by your “gospel” that your witnessing at a deathbed would be the ultimate cruelty. Does it ever occur to Christians that many people who are non-believers are *well* acquainted with the claims of Christianity and are NOT Christians *by choice.* I hope that I am never left in the care of anyone with your attitude.

Pardon me, but it seems to me that your comment is rather circular: You give some reasons why religion is not all that helpful, but all those beliefs make certain assumptions about _what_ is true in a religious sense. For instance, you say it does not matter what you believe, but that itself depends on what you believe! You also say our beliefs do not place an obligation on the "Universe" (as though the universe itself were personal and played some role in determining what happens to us when we die, rather than its Creator), but that too would change based on your beliefs. You've just made a bunch of religious truth claims, but you've only supported them _with_ religious truth claims. (Oh, and I know several people who have seen something of the other side--not the sort of people you might imagine, grifters looking for a million-dollar book deal, but people whom I know and trust, for whom the experience was intensely personal and they don't talk about it with just anyone--and they would assure you that it's not all "acquired BS," but is in fact quite real.)
