I wanted the toys from dino rider, all I got was the "good ones" my mom never bought the evil, t-rex side of them. weirdly enough, I got every game I wanted for christmas- I usually wrote 5 games, and got 3-4 every christmas. from SNES up to Ps2/xbox/gamecube etc.

Really enjoyed the video and the funny childhood stories! For me, it was 2009 and I was first getting into Transformers, I really wanted the Revenge of the Fallen Supreme Class Devastator, but I was never able to get it at all only because of how much it went for. The price was $100 and my mom was never able to get it for me.

First and foremost, I'm very thankful for everything my family has ever gotten me and in no way can ever be ungrateful for my childhood. That said, one gift I never received as a kid and that I remember wanting so much was the Beast Wars transformer Optimus Prime transmetal edition. It was so big and shiny, I remember just staring in awe at it every time we went to the store. My brother used to tell me to just hug it so I would feel better. Needless to say, it was never behind all that wrapping paper.

Wanted the She-ra castle one year for Christmas and got the Sweet Secrets dollhouse. I was devastated 😪

I got the Rambo figures one Christmas, two weeks later my dog found them and had a merry 'ol chew on them. When I was about 7-8 I used to pretend I was Godzilla... with a hammer, all I can remember is smashing Han Solo into the dirt out the back garden until you couldn't see him no more, then I moved onto my brothers Dinky's, my Christmas toys always ended up getting smashed. But I always got what I wanted for Christmas, which was always figures or toy guns, it didn't matter which ones, I was never specific. On my 13th Christmas, I got a wood plane and a ratchet and socket set, which I didn't asked for, It was time to grow up. I'm 41 now, and I still get shit from my family for the toys I wrecked, and the toys I swapped, they still give me shit for swapping my Millennium Falcon, I didn't even have it a year, and I have no idea what I swapped it for.

When Me and my brothers were younger we had an old go kart made out of pipes and a push mower engine, one time I'm outside and my older brother is shooting the basketball, and I decide to try and hit the basketball as it moved away from him. I hit it... With my face, flipped the go kart then rolled it into a tree. Fun dumb Xmas in the south. I'd want a 280zx.

I never wished for any playset except the Playmobile pirate ship. The christmas I finally got it, it was my only gift but I still have it complete. Was a big fan of star wars as well but usually played with those outside and made my own "scenes" in our backyard.

I was the same way on getting consoles one generation behind, so I got the Atari when the NES got popular and got the NES when the SNES got popular, but it allowed me to get a lot of free games from my cousins/friends who were only interested in what was brand new at the time.

Optimal Optimus from Beast Wars

I wanted one year a Super NES but never did get it. I ended up getting a Sega Genesis which at the time I wasn't really happy but when I started playing it I COULDN'T stop playing it. It turned me to Sonic and I still enjoy Sonic games (that is if they don't suck) but yeah. That's really about the only thing I really remember asking for and not getting. I do remember wanting Ninja Turtle toys but always got the side characters most of the time. I did get two of the original turtles but I as a child LOVED to play with my toys to where I would break them sometimes on purpose and after a while my parents didn't want to buy me any more toys cause of what I would do with them. Mine happened to be consoles oddly enough. I always wanted neo geo or a turbo grafx. Neo geo was 700 or 800 at kiddie city. Also a talking cabbage patch kid. I had too many regular cabbage patch kids... The churches handed them out like candy to girls every year if your family was not hugely well off(in your guy's town we'd have been laughed at for saying we were poor... But we came from a super rich area, and they're standards were different... If you didn't go skiing or to Disney on school vacation they assumed you were on welfare)

I totally feel you on never getting consoles when they were new. I always got consoles 2+ years after they came out. I still appreciated them though. I remember being in 1st grade and getting my SNES. I had Super Mario World and All Stars. The rest of what I got to play was basically rented. I got a Verbot at a yard sale once...thought it was going to be amazing. Didn't work at all. I mean you would think it could do at least something, but it never worked right. Maybe I got a defective one since I got it used...but I always assumed they just never worked right so that's why they were selling it.

the one toy i never got as a kid was the white tigerzord i had all the power ranger toys except for the one and to this day i never got it saw it at a flea market once for 5 bucks and my mom didnt have the money for it
