Sadly but so true. People behind a desk try to make all the money in the trucking industry. When they have so little vested unlike the owner operator

+J Henn I was going to until I sat down with them for my contact didn't like what I saw plus you only get 65% of all the load 72 with your own trailer you're better off getting with a company that's not very big there are plenty of companies out here that will pay you 80% and you will not have a lot of deductions

If you are percentage it is the law that they have to show you the rate con if you ask.

really its not all the same.... a 5 axle dry van truck or refer will make 1.20 to 2.30 a mile on average... however.. a 7 axle heavy haul load pays $4 to $7 dollars a mile... yeah the permits cost a little but i have seen 15$ a mile loads in heavey haul.. its not all the same
@BrothermanTrucking7 жыл бұрын
You're trying to compare "apples to oranges", alot of the people watching this channel aren't going to jump into heavy-haul or something specialized right off of the bat. If you follow the channel, I always refer to run of the mill reefer and dryvan when it comes to rates.

Nice video! If you would startup a new trucking company with 4 trucks( Freightliner Cascadia slleper) what would be better for the business : would you cantract drivers as full time employees or contract own operators drivers?

I do 72k as a company driver. Why wouldn't you want 100k as lease?
@ChocComfort6 жыл бұрын
I agree..i run locally and make around 70k a year . I work basically 4 days a week and off on weekends. Its just very physically demanding work though, burns you out a lot. I'm looking to go owner operator for the freedom of my own business.

Does anyone have any thoughts on Hendernson Trucking lease? Or Hirschbach?

bro you keeping it 100 the realest talk I ever heard it is not that you speaking negative about companies just tell him to 1% facts. I Bennett Trucking for 18 years and they all play the same game. that's why these mofos is making all these automatic easy to drive trucks so they can get people that don't know the game to drive trucks. back in the days drivers good drivers was limited because so many people didn't know how to drive us was afraid to drive. but it's true what you said. I believe that's not only in trucking but just about every job they want to keep you satisfied but they keep you working cuz if they pay too much they figure people start slacking. so with that said long as they pay you enough of what you want that's what a job consist of. So u right bro.

As a owner operator truck driver, how do you find subcontractor workers when you have emergencies and cannot drive your truck? Also, do you hire subcontractors to drive your truck?
@BrothermanTrucking5 жыл бұрын
trucknmow biz answered that.

I want to be a owner operator, but I have no experience. My question is do I have to be a company driver for a year to get experience, do I have to go to trucking school or will the company I lease from train? Thanks
@BrothermanTrucking7 жыл бұрын
My advice would be to go to a mega carrier to get your CDL and learn the basics of trucking.
@larrygreen89126 жыл бұрын
affordable cell......... You can go to Schneider National for the training and work for them to see if trucking is for you . I meet a lot of guys that were stuck because they were on the hook for $120k and hated the job . The other thing don’t be fooled companies will treat you differently if you go from company to owner-operator. As a owner-operator working in a company system a lot of the times the crappy load will go on your truck . So just be prepared . Buying a truck from your employer is a risk to in a lot of ways. Just ask how many truck they sold last year and how many were paid off ?
