You need a video playback server. Take a look at casparCG. There are also many paid programs out there that will do scheduling and playout of video.

Have you watched my previous video in this series about routing? Using buses helps a lot because you can mute just one channel and that mutes a whole group of channels. Also, having hardware faders helps as you can use multiple fingers when needing to mute multiple buses. But yes, I have setup the SWS extension to create snapshots and that can be effective as well - you could use something like companion and a stream deck to fire those snapshots.

The question comes down to, "What is your threshold for considering something a quality mix?" What I mean by that is, yes, for sure there are probably ways you can improve your current live stream mix and make it sound better than it currently may be by using an Aux or Matrix mix and adding some crowd mics to the Matrix, mixing your house with busses and adding compression to your house mix. Adding reverb in your house mix, etc. Those are ways to improve things, but I still think you'll only reach the maximum potential for your sound/mix/quality by having an isolated mix. If you use an analog mixer it very difficult. Reasons, it does not have gates, and dynamics or FX you can control. Although some analog mixer carry compressors, and FX, they are fix. You cannot move them to where you want them. If you already have a digital mixer, all these digital mixer model should work (Behringer x32, Behringer wing , Yamaha TF series , or Allen and heath SQ, digico, SSL), Presonus are a bit more difficult, not because it not good, but because it has less FX compare to these units. However the digital mixer may not sound as good though, because it does not have the flexibility as the daw and will depend on your church acoustic. To make you stream loud you do not need a daw, a part from waves plugins, VST 2 will work in OBS, however waves VST3 and other VST 3 will work in Vmix. Wirecast is a bit more tedious.

@@joslee Ok, but your sound will never sound like it because you are not in the same space. However you can set up your mixer to sound good, but it will all depends on you level how fast you can learn or experience and your acoustic space. It not easy as just getup and setting up your mixer, It take experience and knowing the mixer, and it limitation, then planning. The world greatest engineers always plan, prepare and most have a templates. Sometimes it take someone from outside, who does this work well to actual come and setup the mixer. Beyond that, you have to be sure you are competent enough to do this, because you definitely need to know what you are doing, and if you want a pre stereo aux mix or post stereo aux mix. When you make that decision, you would need to be sure you are good at mixing, else get someone who know what they are doing. There are two ways to do a setup, you record the service play back and mix it or you have to get the band to come and play live. The mixer can do some stuff like the plugins in the DAW, like gating/expansion, compressing, the EQ are parametric, buss compression, buss EQing and FX like, de-essing, reverb, delay etc. However the x32 have some limitations. If I remember clearly the x32 has 8 FX, but 4 channel and 4 buss FX. That why I mention you have to plan what you want and know the mixer, if you want to use busses, DCA and matrix, and how you going to use them. Make sure what you listen is a direct source output, meaning no church speakers, get a power box and place it right beside you on aux/main or get good headphones to mix. The reason I am telling you this is you are going to end up EQing your sound base on your old eq setting for your bass bin and FR speakers in a reverb church was done to make it sound good in church, which is not correct, because your input was not change. In other words input equal output. Before you start record any sound, most import your instrument like drums has to be tuned. Else no matter what you do with mixer, the drumkit will never sound good. You will have to decide what you like from the bass, guitar, if you like straight from the DI or from the amps. Drums is the hardest to mix because of the mic bleeds, that why you have to set the gate accurately, compress, Eq and pan (you may pan snare , toms a bit to create space). The rule is never to pan bass guitar, however I have seen it done, Eqing and placement of instruments is up to you. The main singer is always centre but you can pan the background ones. As I mention before is what sound good and works, in your setup. when you done this make sure you save the scene and stick all boxes. So on Sundays if any body did anything, you can recall your template. However I must mention, all depend on your acoustic in your church, if you use monitors for your musician things can get loud and cause problems like reflection hitting your singers mic, that will cause things to sound echoed. That why I would recommend in the future if you do not have it know to invest in-ear monitor for musicians. After you done this you re EQ the church base on what sound good in the church.

@@joslee One thing I forget to address, is the misconception that if it work in his church, it should sound the same as mine, no it will not, Example Steven church maybe using Ludwig drumkit, and you have Mapex, the drums are not going to sound the same, same with keyboard, bass, guitar etc, even if you have the similar instrument it still will not sound the same because the room sound will determine the quality been capture. Furthermore some large and mid size churches you hear does not stream live, they are recorded, edit in a DAW and then stream, you can do that as well.
