I wish I could share the beautiful letter she wrote as to why they chose to name her that! I won’t do it justice, but, besides it being our daughter’s favorite flower, she likened it to how the petals are soft, vibrant and sturdy. They have a strong hold on the stem, their source of life and nutrients. Their prayer is that Zinnia is like the petals, clinging to Jesus, our Source of life. The letter continued and was absolutely beautiful. Enjoy those zinnias!! ❤

I don't have a garden, so I buy my herbs & vitamins in tablet & capsule form, but I really believe the best you can use are the ones you purchase and grow yourself. I believe if more would use the natural, organic herbs & vitamins and our foods, meats, chicken & vegetables that are raised without pesticides, and without hormones or antibiotics, we would be a much healthier nation. Fennel is good for gas and an upset tummy. I drink chamomile tea pretty much everyday. Because it's relaxing and good for immunity.

I remember you saying that you have family from Texas well, I’m in Houston and I’m pretty sure your family has told you that we have had rain for four days in a row. Tomorrow will be more rain five days in a row now it hasn’t been too too bad at least not where I’m at. I’m in Houston near downtown but it’s that annoying rain but it’s it’s OK. I haven’t even been able to walk the garden because of the rain but maybe tomorrow, I’m thinking mine carrot seeds that I put in good🥕🥕🥕 Be safe

It has been so wet here in Texas till I get out and fix my beds in above ground beds.Then it comes a gulley washer again. Tomorrow will be that again.

I have used that same Alaska Fish Fertilizer for years. It is amazing and gets good results.

I love purslane. I have a garden path right now that's filling up with it. I'm so excited! I like to add it to my tortellini sausage soup. It's not the same without it. I also put it in pesto with dandelion greens

My dad loved horehound drops to suck on while driving on long trips.

I LOVE peppermint in peppermint tea! I never heard of lovage before. 'Do you get brussel sprouts the first year? Brussels sprouts are not perennials. They are biennials which means they live for two years. The first year they produce foliage and the second year they produce flowers and seeds before dying back. They are grown as an annual for the edible, round, cabbage-like sprouts that form in the leaf axils the first year.'

Dried lavender flowers in chicken salad is awesome! include fresh finely diced fennel ribs (in place of celery), apples, sweet pickle relish, onions, pecans, and fresh ground nutmeg. Substitute the mayo with a 50/50 cream cheese/sour cream mixture. chill well before serving. When cooking the chicken, add dried Lavender flowers and fennel seeds plus add a heaping teaspoon of the dried lavender flowers into the salad. pretty and tastes wonderful!

Pineapple weed is basically identical to chamomile properties, and is native...we get it all over here...just pop the heads off when the white petals fade and let it dry and use it like you would chamomile.

Some people like tulsi basil as a tea. This year I let two of my onions go to seed.

My absolute favorite multiplying onion is the I'itoi onion. They can be almost completely ignored and they just give and give. The handled our below freezing temps and our 100 plus degree days here in Central Texas without any issue at all. They can be hard to find so if you are able to locate some bulbs I highly recommend that you get them.

I have a lot of bears and I'm sure they would love that fish fertilizer. 😅. I use it in my pots and bring them in at night and then pour apple cider vinegar to try to cover the smell. 😅 Hoping to have a big garden next year but will need an electric fence so the bears don't eat it all.

Hello just wanted to share what I've been using for years when I get a cough I make a strong ginger tea ( I use powdered organic ginger. I also add honey and lemon and stinging nettle. I'll let them soak for a couple of hours . I've been using herbal remedies and homemade broths for years. I've used them for kids as well.

Miss Lori, we have done the same thing. Last yr we planted by the almanac, well, the weather in Oklahoma had other ideas and we lost and had to replant several things, so, this yr. we have taken our time, and again, the weather has been crazy here this Spring. I’m just getting pole peas planted and also my okra. Love your videos! Thank you for your inspiration!
