Joining JC Editor Jake Wallis Simons were Labour activist Josh Simons, former MP Dame Louise Ellman, chair of the Jewish Labour movement Mike Katz, and journalist Melanie Phillips.

As a Christian raised in London i have and will always support the Jewish people's right to their homeland Israel. A regular reader of Melanie Phillips - she's brilliant and i whole heartedly agree with her as she writes and speaks the truth. The ignorance of the average Brit surrounding the history of Israel and Palastine is staggering and given our Judeo-christian heritage quite disgraceful.

They have screwed tax payers every which way over the years all labour councils have regularly cut services put rates up and to top it all you pay for going to tip,pay parking outside your house you name it over their tanure poor really got poorer and to to top it up Gordon brown sold 400 tons of treasury gold to his cronies at favourable rates

I started reading the Jewish Chronicle when I was 12 in 1964 and still in Britain. Loved reading it and always looked forward. Melanie Phillips a Star. Read her book Londonstan 20 years ago. My best friend who is Muslim says that if Labour wins it will be a disaster. Louise has a lot of courage. Must be a nightmare in this pool of hatred. I witnessed the antisemitism of the 1960s already. And now it's way worse.

I refer to the tweet on X where I questioned the moral compass and validity of these Jewish reps of labour when the day after (they probably knew) that David lammy of labour, shadow foreign secretary, stated labour support the ICC support of arresting Netanyahu, Z well as supporting Spain, ireland and Norway, by saying if labour get in they’ll seriously consider making their support official in the Palestinian state. Louise Ellmann's recollections are terrible to hear. However, are the panel members really alarmed at the prospect of a Keir Starmer premiership? The Labour Party's position on the Gaza conflict, along with Germany's, gives unflinching support to the IDF Gaza onslaught. Melanie Phillips hovers somewhere to the right of Itamar Ben Gvir . But I found this a most interesting contribution to an agonising situation.

I lived in the UK from my birth in '71 until 2003. I return to work every now again. As I understand, Reform want to keep legal migration as it stands, at around 750,000, and the SDP want to cut it to 50k if there are 50k with PhDs.
