1. You can go to Varenna instead of Como city!
PLACES THAT I DIDN'T MANAGE TO VISIT but you can:
Bellagio:
1. VILLA SERBELLONI & VILLA MELZI
2. Pescallo which is an old fishing village, aside from being a scenic place it is also great for water sports.
3. Take a boat trip around the area and find beaches
Varenna:
1. Gardens of Villa Monastero

2. Castello di Vezio
Climb up to this former fortress for great views and immerse yourself in history. It is open between March and November

3. If you have more time, hike the Sentiero del Viandante trail.

Can you take the train to Varenna instead? I feel like San Giovanni is to far south.

Hi, yes you can, there should be a direct train from Milan centrale to Varenna Esino. And you're right, Varenna is definitely closer to Bellagio, Lenno and so on, and the ferry is good :). Are you planning on visiting soon?

Drink from the public fountains! All Italian cities are required to have drinking fountains and the ones in Varenna and belaggio and the COLDEST most DELICIOUS drinking water you will find in Italy. Especially when tourist walking on a HOT summer day.
