SO HAPPY for you...I chose to go plant based in 2012 because my dad AND brother both died of colon cancer....I did some research and found out that FIBER intake is key to avoiding this disease ( OK...and both were depressed at the time of diagnosis...depression will lower your resistance for sure)....but COLON CANCER is one of the more avoidable cancers is what I also discovered!

It is also very important that you soak the beans and throw off that first water. Important to cook them well , not to get gas. Be sure not to mix fruit and vegetables in the same meal. That will ferment and give gas. Some people are more sensitive to this than others. Also , no drinking to the meal , but between meals and have peace and joy when you eat. Chew well ... Good appetite

Thank you for this excellent podcast. If using canned beans simply empty into a colander and rinse with cold water until all the bubbles disappear, this technique greatly reduces the gas power of the beans. Additionally a high fibre diet is recommended for any woman who is struggling with a prolapse as constipation is best avoided.

Please don’t criticize…it takes time for people to even try and definitely to fully change their life to switch to a plant-based diet…but it’s the best fuel and the best medicine. I blend my own tea with oregano, ginger, peppermint, and cinnamon…it treats my pains, muscle aches, is sedating and absolutely awesome for sleep…turn off your devices at night so you don’t get blue light so your brain makes melatonin which has many functions in your body…remember light at night is not right!..it will mess up your health and can cause serious insomnia…DDC MD…

I didn't have any issues with gas when I went vegan but I think it's because I was already eating lots of fibre even as a meat eater. I basically just cut out animal products and continue to eat everything else as I usually did; just added b12. I think gas is only an issue for people who suddenly up their fibre intake more than before and I think that an happen even if you don't go vegan.

Okay, so the frequent, effortless and positively glorious pooping of well-formed stools (one to three times a day) is standard on the plant-based/vegan dietary regime. What a relief! (And in more ways than one...) Also, when it comes to gas and bloating, the dose makes the poison, so it would seem. Ease up on the dose, and the gas and bloating should be abated. Gradually up the dose, and the body should adjust accordingly, without producing too much gas. Great video. Good job!

I think there should be an emphasis on simple carbs raising triglycerides on a vegan diet. It's also bad for your heart health. You have to consider switching those vegan snacks, bread and pasta with some alternatives you make home with chickpeas, mushrooms, soy, one handful of nuts, chia etc.

Even if you can't forgo meat and dairy all at once, just reducing the amount of meat, and replacing meat and refined carbs with vegetables makes a huge difference. Sometimes you need to go in stages. The difference you'll see will help complete the conversion.

Veganism is a way of living which seeks to exclude-as far as is possible and practicable-all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals. 💚🌱🐽🌏💪🏻

It sounds like she may have IBS. Cut out all gluten and dairy. We are finding that so many folks in that generation have messed up their guts with the SAD diet and now have a totally messed up gut flora, holes, and pockets of rotting materials- and yet are still eating milk and cereal in the mornings, a bread sandwich for lunch and a meat heavy supper. Start with white rice and lentils. Flavour with non chilli herbs and spices.

No, the weight loss i a lie that you don't have to watch what you eat.I lost 135 pounds total in 18 months, and I loved making split peas and lentils. I could live off of those. But when I would add those to my veggie and salads only diet, I would start gaining weight and would have to stop. I would eat a big bowl every meal. Not even 1 a day and I would gain. even rice cakes. no more than 2 a day or I would start gaining again as I would weigh myself every morning out of bed for years since 2011 until a year ago when I started stress eating Cheerios and saltine crackers and other cereals without milk or anything. I needed the dry crunchy texture to help me with the stress of dealing with my sickly older wife. I hate being 50-60 pounds overweight. I hate myself again at 65. I thought I would never ever be fat again after 8 years of being skinny and just right. I have lost control but still eat veggies but the cereals and crackers are keeping the weight on and so does the split pea and lentil soup I make in a pressure cooker. I could eat a half a gallon of it a day. I still don't eat any meats or oils. Just too much stress in my life for complete control. 😞

Are you still getting a balanced diet? Try taking vitamin supplements too. They’re not a problem. Cows and most farmed animals are fed supplements so that humans can get those vitamins from animals too, so it’s not an issue cutting out the middle man (or cow, I guess!). Cut out junk food. The plant based burgers are just as bad for you as normal burgers. Stop getting takeaways, stop drinking sugary drinks. There are a lot more factors than just plants making you poorly. You cant promise weight loss. There are vegans that gained weight on the diet, likely because of all the vegan junk food or even eating too many minimally processed vegan foods like nuts/nut butters. A distinction needs to be made here. An ultra processed vegan diet will be no better for weight loss than an ultra processed omnivorous diet. Obviously reducing high calorie foods can help with weight loss but you do not need to go vegan in order to cut out high calorie foods. People that do lose weight of course will have an improvement with their diabetes. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with diet. Weight loss in and of itself improves diabetes. Reputable sources like Mayo Clinic, WHO and the CDC dont mention specific foods as a cause. Eating too much food and becoming overweight can contribute but thats it as far as diet goes. Muscle loss during weight loss is not guaranteed. High protein, even without exercise, reduces muscle loss (although there is still some). If you eat high protein and do resistance training, you can actually build muscle while losing weight, especially if you are a beginner. The more advanced you get with lifting, the more likely you are to lose muscle mass (a body builder will lose some muscle as they lose weight for example). Vegans absolutely can get enough protein but many don't. Yes, protein is in everything but that doesnt mean everything is a good source. Different foods have different amount of protein and some have complete proteins while others do not. Going vegan means cutting out all the best sources of protein, aside from protein powder, which the whole food vegans wont touch. When you cut out all the best sources of a nutrient, you need to be careful and make sure you get enough. I cant believe I have to say chicken breast is a better source of protein than an apple.

@@dougupton1203 carnivore diet is what carnivores eat. Wolves, Fox, Dogs.... Bones, raw chicken. Do we protect chickens from fox or from other humans. How many humans trying to catch field mice? Dogs in our neighborhood eat field mice....WHOLE!!! When is the last time humans did ANYTHING a carnivore does? Carnivores chew raw meat off the bone - no cooking, spices etc no fear of salmonella from raw chicken...

I went vegan and started gaining so much weight, went from 60 to 120 kg. I was overeating because I felt I was lacking something. Eventually the malnutrition came to the surface. Eventually I started drinking good, organic full fat milk and with the first glass I felt life entering my body. After even half a decade of not being vegan anymore, I am still having food disorders because of it. Having vegan or vegetarian days from time to time is great but going full vegan is just not sustainable, it makes you terribly sick.

Really?🤣 Iam a Vegan martial artist from past 4 years. Left antihistamine, lost weight could gain lean mass and increased endurance. So either u have some intolerance towards some food that u ate or ate food in a wrong way or just wanna justify urself for not being vegan😂

@@claustrophobic0015 I had sicknesses and allergies come and go through my life, unrelated to my diets, and I did Ju-Jutsu for years, too, and none of that meant anything. However, since I'm way smarter than you, I even know why that pathetic vegan diet was so bad. I also had to giggle a bit here on my couch about you because you mentioned that you were a "vegan" martial artist. Considering the elevated amounts of phytoestrogens you take in, I could not fight the urge to imagine you as a feminized, girly, martial artist. "Vegan martial artist" is somewhat an embarrassing image to say the least. 🤣😘🥰

There is a difference between vegan and whole food plant based. Other than B12 which is a bacteria there is no way someone can become malnourished or extreme weight gain from a WFPB diet. Fruit, Veggies, whole grains, nuts, seeds & well prepared legumes are powerhouse of nutrients and a lot classed as superfoods.

@@plantbasedwell-being3309 "Whole Food" is a diet that does NOT discriminate. "Whole Food" implies that one has a fully BALANCED diet, lacking nothing. "Whole Food Plant Based" does not exist, it is impossible, it is a food-related PERVERSION, it has never been sustainable for it requires Food Chemists and high level of processing to even keep the individual healthy ot even to survive. Millions of years of REAL "Whole Food" diet has gotten mankind to this point. A "Whole Food Plant Based" would not have made mankind go past the third generation. A TRUE "Whole Food" diet doesn't discriminate. Fully Vegan, meaning, a diet fully based on animal-free products, is certainly not sustainable can lead to a underwhelming lifestyle, sickness and death. You keep preaching, I keep WITNESSING. I lived through that what you are in denial about. On Judgment Day you can see for yourself how many people you made sick and killed with your food religion.

She didn’t do vegan right then. Sounds like your sister takes things to extremes. A vegan eating a balanced and healthy diet looks very healthy. I have known vegans who were very healthy. Healthier than anyone on the standard American diet hands down!! In the US, we have a messed up idea about what healthy is and looks like.
