I watch Wild Homestead & Cabin River Outdoors with almost an obsention. When I was a young man I tried and failed $$$ to do what they are doing. Now I am 57 and very unhealthy. What I like about James is his indeapth journey in the build process. I am put off a bit by his Pre knowledge. It sadly makes me feel I could not follow his footsteps if I where his age. With Cabin River Shawn is more real. He videos his failures to a greater extent and yet he keeps moving ahead. I feel like I could follow his path as a younger man. ... Both of these channels have my utmost respect and they get a thumbs up every week. TNX guys.

If you were following James since he started wildontarionews, he already explained everything himself at one point or another that was said in this video. This video is just a cheap paraphrasing of everything you would have heard James himself said on any of his social media in the past. Also I can notice AI definitely helped lengthen the script a lot for this video.

*I really like James and enjoy his weekly videos on his Wild Homestead KZfaq Channel. I think James is very good craftsman, and I think he is a quality builder. I simply love his home cabin design. 👍🏻 Another thing which is clear about James is he's a very intelligent man. His rather bombastic behavior and eccentric manner is a bit intense at times, however, a man of his accomplishments is allowed to be as weird as he wants - Just as long as James doesn't completely lose his mind, and go Howard Hughes weird ! James is also a pagan who's soul is in danger of eternal damnation for worshipping false, Nordic deities, so I pray for him daily. Since James seems unaware of the powers of the paranormal that be out in the wilderness, he thinks it's cool and quaint to pray to and serve honour to them. Although one does hear and see enough about haunted houses and ghosts in urban locales, nothing actually can compare to the general volume of paranormal activity which exists in the deep Wilderness Areas of our Planet, and James is building on land in an area of Canada, which has a long history of strife and mourning connected to it. I can hardly wait to see him complete his log cabin build and then clear his land, just like it was was first cleared in the 1790's by Loyalist refugee immigrants who were chased out of the American Colonies after the Revolutionary War against England to what was Lower Canada at the time.*

Wow, just Wow!!! I paused for a moment after watching this and said, don't bother commenting, but the more I thought about it, the more I felt is necessary for the sake of the public. I have to say, I whole heartedly disagree with everything you said and question your motivation for doing this video. 1. You probably created this in conjunction with James as a promotional tool. 2. You did it without his permission to increase your own subscriber count. In any event, while your pronunciation and accent provide a sense of educational accuracy that many people will take what you say as fact, I actually watch the show. I challenge you to document episodes and time within the episodes to back up even one of your assertions about James. I watch the show and view his show as comic relief or reality tv because James is quite entertaining. It is more like reality theatre than instructional homesteading. James even states this at least once in every episode, "I've never done this before" Even when his brother gave him a simple weed whacker he stated he never used one in his life. If people want an actual educational homesteading channel I'd recommend Kyle's Cabin and Bushradical. Even Bushes wife has more years of homesteading experience on her own channel, than James, and their sone Betting on Alaska has watched his parents obviously over the years. Apparently My Self Reliance is good, but I don't really follow him. What I like about Kyle's Cabin and Betting on Alaska even more is their honesty about the fact that their KZfaq channel is their source of income (or one of their sources), their honest that KZfaq pays them for subscriber count and content. But let's be honest, these channels are about money, not selfless good will to men. So let's get back to James, most of the time he does it wrong and needs to redo it. What I will say is he is quite intelligent and has the ability to do research and follow it and he does freely share what he learns and he is dedicated to making long content for entertainment purposes. I'd say he loves nature, but I don't recall him every speaking about climate change or sustainable living other than a brief comment her or there. One example was the insulation for his floor that he used vs. traditional insulation. He made that sound like a personal preference rather than an educational \ influential video to others as to why they should use that insulation. I think the proof to my premise would be seen in his subscriber demographics. I imagine KZfaq and James has this, I'd be curious to see it now. My guess is that it is heavily loaded with single women and gay men who follow him for his looks and whacky humor vs. people who are considering to homestead in the future as you allude. Probably alot of the same subscribers from his dating reality tv series. Finally, I am not trying to dissuade anyone from watching, he's hilarious and he knows it. For me it's mostly acting an not his authentic self. And there is nothing wrong with that. Let's just be honest about it. We all hear enough lies in the media, especially in politics, which is why I watch youtube to get away from that.
