Both are treated equally. You can be expelled for both, if you are not repentant. Or you can stay in the congregation for both, if you are repentant. We follow the Bible, not people's emotions. One seems worse, but both are as bad as each other. Child sexual abusers are reported to authorities if the law requires it though.

This is absolutely true - he came to my congregation as a young man a Bethelite we called them. I was 15 and I had a super huge crush on him. He rose to this position because he’s an amazing orator... I could spend hours and hours on service with him 😊... 15years later he and his other hench men tried to dis fellowship his old friend(who ironically I was there when he first preached to him). This was a fellow elder.. The elder said to Paul and the others - if you come near me or my family to try and bring disgrace to my family- I will tear this community down. They backed away from him knowing that as a respected elder he had the power to destroy that Kingdom Hall and much more because he was well loved by everyone. They are a foul bunch of corrupt liars. The other elder left the congregation and is now a successful lawyer.

I agree with you Lloyd, it makes me full of sadness and anger. But like most JWs, they will find a way to justify these atrocities on children by some article in the Watchtower blaming everyone except themselves. They (The WTS) will be praising their actions and will blame the Victims, Police and even the Courts. What a disgusting organisation. Thank you for defending the Children and I know you really are a caring individual. I can see it on your face that it cuts you up inside. I'm in tears at the moment, and I couldn't present this information without weeping. I've been a Carpenter for 39 years, but your presentation today has been one of the bravest things I've seen in my life. Thanks again Lloyd.

Wow there is no shame in their protecting both themselves and the WT organization. My conscience would not allow me to do that. Once you base certain actions within an organization it becomes easy to let matters like this to happen. Except we aren't talking about white collar crime here. We are talking about rape, incest and molestation. That is beyond sickening.

We have a brother in our congregation that we were made aware of. They said everything they could’ve said without calling him a child molester. We were also asked to act like we didn’t hear anything. We have young children this is whack!

I wonder which "Bible principles" Mr Gillies is referring to when the organisation refuses to report CSA. Which scripures would he cite if he were in court and asked that question?

If the law requires it, we report it. We follow the Bible Principle that tells us to follow the government's rules unless they conflict with our beliefs. There is no scripture that comments on reporting Child Sexual Abuse, so if we are required to, we do so. But if we are not required to, we don't.

If you watch on KZfaq the Australian Royal Commission Into Institutional Responses to Child Sex Abuse in the matter of The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society (I recommend you see all eight days' testimony), then you'll see such reasoning in action under cross examination

Paul Gilles was an elder and service overseer at the congregation I used to attend from 1991 to 2012. His wife Judith was a very friendly person,down to earth. Paul always had this (I’m more important than you) attitude. I’m not surprised at all that he’s reached for top positions in that stupid organisation. I never ever felt that he had a genuine heartfelt faith in God, it was always he’d be appointing other well to do brothers as elders. Those with no money had no chance at all. His wife was genuinely interested in God but not him, he’s a fake Christian

Jehovah doesn't think anything is a crime. He thinks that child molestation is a sin. A sin is a lot worse than a crime. Working on the Sabbath was a death sentence under the mosaic law, but we no longer follow that. Even if we did, your sentence proves nothing at all. You make an irrelevant statement on Jehovah God's views on child molestation to try and make him seem bad, and then you bring up another irrelevant statement about the Sabbath to make it seem like you have a point, and to distract people how irrelevant the sentence is.

Watchtower is ramping up the suspense and promise,just as they did with the Bunker videos. This surely is coming back to bite them when nothing,as usual,takes place. Just how long can they expect followers to hang on. It seems to me that,faced with losing members,they are pinning everything on short term fulfilment I think it could be 1975 again

Many people believed it would come in 1975 because it sounded right, but it was never prophesied. They expect followers to hang on until it actually comes, which will be very soon, because of Jesus' prophecy in Matthew 24:34. Those who were anointed before those who were anointed before or in 1914 died will not die before the Great Tribulation. And those people are getting older, so the Great Tribulation should happen soon.

So you can't die huh, so what if you fell off a mountain. Do you just bounce back up? No more scrapes or broken bones. Where does gravity go? What if a rock falls on you and no one can get you out? Do you just stay their alive forever? Do you have to eat? Where do all these people go if you can still have kids? So many questions. I have asked all these.

You can die, just not of old age, you're not immortal, so you'd most likely die if you fell off a mountain. You would not bounce back up. You could get scrapes and broken bones. Gravity still would pull you to the centre of the Earth. If a rock falls on you and no one can get you out, you'd probably die. You would not stay alive forever. You have to eat if you don't want to starve to death. That last question is an actual concern, and we don't know yet, but the solutions we know now would be you either stop reproducing, or you populate other habitable planets.

Just saying… Anyone can try to sue anyone else, for any reason; whether or not the courts will accept the lawsuit to be heard, and whether or not the lawsuit will be successful in the way desired by the plaintiff, and to what extent, is far from certain!

When it comes to sexual abuse , it does seem that the authorities are very reticent in going after big organizations ? What are they scared of ? Does anyone know ? Is it because it's very difficult getting prosecutions due to expert legal teams these organizations have got so they don't even bother ?

You know what they use those donations for? Helping people, even non-JWs, after natural disasters. Building kingdom halls, bethels and studios to help expand worship to Jehovah. Paying those who are serving and preaching in other countries, so that they don't have to get a job. They don't profit at all from these donations. I don't see how you could possibly twist that to make it seem horrible. There's nothing bad about the donations. They're also completely optional and anonymous.

I know Paul he was my table head at the London bethel many years ago. He's a pretty chill dude, not surprised he's been pushed up the corporate ladder. Like many at the top they have been in Bethel all of their adult lives and have been institutionalized. Most likely his statement was written by the legal department. Anyway they only use Paul in these childish indoctrination videos because he has a sexy foreign accent, we all know that Americans go weak at the knees for a Brit accent of some kind . He's somewhere between Sean Connery and Shrek 😋

All this talk of child sexual abuse-can anyone explain to me, since it seems to be such a frequent occurrence, what possible sexual attraction a child can have for an adult; it seems to be more of a mental/emotional aberration than a sexual one… I’m not trying to minimize the significance of the harm done by CSA, I just don’t get it…

Again the picture of the young violent person with a fast forward to an older humble version of himself. The natural progression is the largest percentage of violent offenders age out of it at around 30. So as people age they get tired of fighting and they know they don't have their youth anymore and adjust to the reality of getting old.
