I think 944s are going to become the new S13-14 chassis, cheap, old, sports car with a ton of tuning capability

Pretty chill vibe on your channel, I like it! The main thing for any 944 owner to know is: the more you drive the car, the more money it will ask you for. 😂 A lot of little things just break down over time and most of them weren’t well cared for throughout the years. You’re spot on with the cruise control suspect, the computer boards are prone to cracked solder joints and that’s generally the issue. Cheers!

Appreciate it man, stick around I’ve got plans to dedicate more time to the channel in a bit here. Just like you mentioned little things just falling apart, the owner is currently resealing more oil gaskets as we speak lol.

IN PCA CLUB racing the NA 944 is raced in SP2 and turbo 951 in SP3 !!! lots of them !!!😊

Good vid! Btw, if you want to keep the popups up with car off, i wired a switch into the fuse for the motor. Essentially the switch disconnects the fuse. So from inside the car i can decide whether to keep lights up or down when parked.

Well, i drive a 924 as my first car. What an absolute beauty. Its just awesome to drive, the handling, the feeling, the sound from the aftermarket (DANSK) exhaust. In my opinion its an awesome sports car and even a good daily. Haven't driven a 944 yet but despite being faster i think there is not so much difference.

As the owner of the car in the video i did cover some the troubles i ran into. As long as your good on maintnance the car isnt too difficult to own and its a really simple car to work on. Just take your time to find a clean example and it should be a great first car.

As a first car I wouldn’t imo, I’d get some ultra reliable daily first and have the 944 as an extra

just to bring some light into it,the last 924 (S) had the same motor as the first 944 (n/a), both 2.5 L/4 cyl with 150HP, later 944 versions have a 2.7 L/4 cyl with 163HP....has the first 924 an Audi made 2.0 L/4cyl. the 944 has a 100% Porsche made 2.5L/4cyl, which was, if you want, half of a 928 5L/8 cyl.

they are pretty common, but dipping below 6k is where you’re getting a broken pile, below 3k is literally a parts car

@@drunvert Hey just wanted to ask; how has your experience been? I have just started getting into cars (because I got a stick shift, lol) but I can pretty much only change a tire. Is the maintenance expensive on this car? What sort of things should I look for? I have seen some good quality 944s in my area for kinda cheap. Can they be a daily driver? I drive probably 40 miles a day. But I just think Porsches are beautiful, would love to have a fun daily driver that might turn heads

@@megaminiman it's my main driver. No issues other than a broken lock mechanism on driver door. 100$. Normal maintenance is easy for any local garage. Plugs. Oil .or you. Very simple. Be nice to your clutch and transmission. No burnouts. And you should be good. Get one w NO RUST. Look under car. Push on areas w a pen. Mines California so no rust. But it needs to be always from Western States.. It can't have spent 25 years in Virginia or Michigan and then sold in California

@@drunvert oh god I’m in Colorado, so lots of slush/salt on the roads in the winter. The two I’m looking at look like there’s no rust but I haven’t seen pics under the car
