Some random mechanic just told me that my car has an engine knock but I randomly remove the mass airflow sensor here and there and the car continues to drive. With the airflow sensor connected then dies and then I remove it and it drives for a while then but a little longer then dies. Also I observed my plugs got a lil black faster than usual. So am assuming it's the airflow senser. I removed changed fuel pump Nd filter 1st because that's what I suspected 1sr

I don’t have black smoke, but I have a lot of back fire and a heap of fumes now to the point people are starting to complain. Only thing is my car is so old it’s OBD1 so I can’t hook a scanner up to it, and I’m pretty sure the main ECU is fried since the check engine light won’t come on no matter what I do to it.

My 02 ranger only emits black smoke when I turn it on, when I arrive at the destination it disappears... I already cleaned the maf and the ecf? valve... tomorrow I will change the air filter. any advice ?

My air temperature coolant sensor is bad thats why i have sometimes when my rpms comes above 2300rpms - then black smokes commes at the start then little bit wanish thru driving

throttle position sensor located along with the hose from air cleaner to intake manifold. cost depends on your location

A fortune and it's probably just need cleaning but they say you need a new injector rip off

I’ve changed the injectors on my mondeo mk3 and the injection pump and since then my car it’s smoking black when I change from the first gear to second and from the second to third….
