Woaw! This is really interesting! I grew up in Victoria, BC Canada with my parents who were heavily into Astrology and numerology. So I grew up with astrology during my years as a kid and I find it so amazing today at how it somewhat ties in with kabbalah! I now go to shul every Shabbat here in Madison, WI (Conservative shul) and really feel the connection with Astrology.

Kabbalah is a form of mysticism from the medieval period. I love Adar and Purim and, I'm sorry to say, hamantaschen. Though, I was born in Heshvan. The medieval Kabbalah has its own forms of numerology and such, as well. It is a deeply complex, beautiful mysticism.

I’m not Jewish but Im in the process of reading the Bible and the Hebrew calendar is what’s used and im just fascinated. It’s kind of crazy to think this western culture im a part of is so far from the origin My God’s people. Im so confused idk what to do 😰

I love ancient calendar study! Sure people think its strange because it seems as if people don't use those calendars any more, but it is definitely interesting, and I believe useful for today. Those gifted in math, astronomy and physics would better explain the order of days and things of that sort. Mayan Calendar (uses Venus as a time frame) Native American (uses moon and many similar holiday features to Jewish traditions) **This is where connection to nature plays a role quite significantly. Even birds and other creatures will do certain things during specific lunar/seasonal times. Chinese (uses moon and many similar holiday features to Jewish traditions....language structure) Solar Lunar Calendars (these were used in ancient bible times?) Farmer's Almanac (uses Gregorian, but helpful in explaining various things about other features) Even those in Christian view can understand bible better by study of ancient Jewish calendar. I download Stellarium (www.stellarium.org/) to help study these things to get a better handle on the "pattern" of the heavens. Location on the earth makes a big difference as cultures differ a little on their interpretation, but not so much that it is impossible to grasp from culture to culture (kinda like the way people drive a car differs a little in each culture but same car)
