Funny thing I started with the Insect Glaive because, I like jumping on the monster's back. Recently beat the game and slew Xeno and I realized what drew it too me though. I wanted to see if I could get above the Biggest monster in the game and do the tornado drop on his freaking head while he was rearing up. I can proudly say I have.

Mindless dual blade slashing is truly the best

I started as a hammer bro because there's nothing better than knocking all the teeth out of a monster's head, but the lack of tail-slice-ability left me wanting. So I picked up the Sword and Shield and now I get to do EVERYTHING: cut off tails, smash off horns, mount better than an IG main and toss powders to buff my team. I am now a SnS main.

I'm a Switch ax user when I play. I love things that turn into stuff.

Love Insect Glaive, a lot of people are saying because of "style" and "masters of air" but I simply enjoy IG for the sheer utility of being able to easily do mounts but the real prize are the nectar buffs. You deal higher damage with red, you have higher mobility than other light weapons when white nectar buff is up plus the extra nock back resistance with orange is very useful. The other bonus is that if you're good at targeting you can actually use your kinsect to do knockout damage. The IG is such a powerful well rounded weapon if people will properly use all it's features.

Im an Insect Glaive user. This actually didn’t really describe my reasons for choosing that weapon. Its simple actually. The glaive, while it can’t quite compete with the flurry of the dual blades with attack speed, or the incredible brutality and strength of the great sword, it in itself is a very versatile weapon. It’s perfect for players who enjoy a balance of speed, range, mobility, and the flurry style of attack; a huge bonus with a healing build for those who struggle to find a chance to safely drink a potion, or those who just get a thrill of leaping right over the charging monster before slamming down upon them.

Greatsword Main here! That description was perfect. It really do be about those earth shattering hits that flip the game upside down. And I do painstakingly know every monster inside and out. Man's gotta get his combos in where he can

At heart, I'm a bow player, picked it up early on, been playing it since my induction to the series in 3U, and it's my old reliable. I love my bow. BUT. It's hammer time, baby. Mobility coming from the dash of a lv 1 charge and rolls, the ability to floor a monster by playing aggressively, able to pull off high bursts of damage, the description of a gambler fits me perfectly. I will take risks and even unneeded damage just to get that headshot to preserve my KO value, and I'm the kind of guy who looks at a 1% drop rate on something in MH, nods, and says, "I can get that in a few attempts."

Gunlancer here, basically yea we are mostly former lance users who wanted a bigger bang for our buck...so we slapped an explosive shotgun on the end of our lances!!

LS user: does cool attacks and chains them for 5 consecutive minutes. everyone else: watching them bleed to death from an odogaron attack.

Dual blading monsters in the face, dancing around their feet, avoiding attacks last second and dodging around them so they turn like a dog trying to catch its tail is awesome! Plus sliding! Although I love me my Sword and Shield as well from time to time

I discovered the switch axe only very recently, and I have to say that I absolutely love the sheer sense of power that comes with it. Every blow carries weight, and pulling off a full elemental discharge? That's the stuff of heaven.

Lance main here, we are an indestructible wall and I love it.

Heh. Nothing like my good old Light Bowgun. You nailed the description perfectly. There's never any harm in being well prepared.

When you've used and mastered all the weapons, you will always come back to SnS. With the timing knowledge you gain from using big clunky weapons and the agility and versatility you gain from light weapons, when you come back to SnS you literally turn into a monster's worst nightmare that won't let them catch a breath.

Insect glaive here, the more mounting and toppling the monster I do, the more openings I make for my heavy hitting team mates. Also, i get hit less by my team, a win-win.

Insect glaive... Because monsters are like dogs and can't look up... Also pack a full set of infinite stamina drinks and you can just helicopter across a monsters back (breaking off all the parts) for minutes at a time.

Hunting horn here! No one ever seems to give us credit untill we solo que with Teostra's Orphee and litterally neuter Val Hazak for you. Its a thankless job but hey, nothings more special than cracking some poor bastard Deviljho's skull while blasting bagpipes in its drooling concussed face

As a bow main, I like the moderate damage of the bow but what made me love it is the safety distance between me and the monster, it's more comfortable and less stressful even if sometimes the battles get real hot, the bow seduced me and I hunted every monster from tobi-kadachi to xenojiva all solo with an extreme safety feeling.

I started with the longsword. I mained it for awhile then I picked up the Charge Blade and liked it a lot more. But then I picked up the Hammer. And that's where I found the best weapon suited for my needs. Hammer is the best weapon in the game in my opinion.

I love the kinsect glaive.I love the somewhat fast attacks and having the ability to kinda dual wield elements.

Started in mh4u.. main weapons Charge blade (for the bigger, slower and mroe defensive monsters) and Instect glaive (Speed drone usually for the smaller and quicker monsters) But seriously, having slash AND impact on one weapon is superb, since it lets you take whatever position that's missing on the team and you can play tank. (Yes, online it's enarly always CB unless i just wanna play floor is lava)

Hunting horn all day. A.k.a. a hammer main with a song in your heart lol.

When playing a hunting horn, one does not ask should I heal my teammates? The proper question is, if I heal myself because I tanked the monster for the last five hits, will the range of my heals also heal my teammates? Oh, and can I get this three song combo in before the monster recovers from being staggered.

I use the Great Sword and Hammer mostly because I like to hit the monsters for 200+ damage every time they do something stupid. It's like my giant discipline ruler.

People who think Lance is a defensive weapon also think that HH is just a support weapon and that SnS is a nooblet weapon.

First list I've seen that compliments every weapon while still subtly mentioning their shortcomings instead of just shitting on all the new additions like an elitist snob. Love the flattering articulation. Good on you for being the only one to not use the words "weeb" or "Naruto" when talking about the longsword and dual blades.

Also remember, sword and shield is the best weapon in the game. All who use it are geniuses and should be regarded as gods. Using it proves you are a capable warrior who has toppled giants, and all the greatest heroes cower at your feet. Most people gazing upon a sword and shield user have their eyes melt out of their heads from pure amazement. All monsters who face a sword and shield hunter are actually cowering, and only fight for the futile chance of surviving because running away would be useless. If you find a sword and shield hunter, ignoring your lack of eyes, you must follow them to greatness.

still, the greatsword for me. Knowing your enemy's every detail of its moves and attacks and being able to avoid and dodge all of it. Hitting its weak spots that yield greater damage and that 3rd charge slash combined with perfect timing, hitting the monster's head, twice, is just hmmm so satisfying.

I know this is 2 years late but, WHERE MY LANCE MAINS AT? (And for those of you who aren't lance mains, DON'T YOU DARE SAY LANCES ARE BORING!!!!! Otherwise, we're good.) Seriously though, If you have to play games at a house that doesn't haven't internet and your a noob to the monster hunter series (aka me), The Lance is the best weapon for you in Monster Hunter World! (In my opinion anyway.) Obviously, you'll be receiving no help from other players. With the lance, you get the best defense from any weapon in the game, as well as good offense and damage too, and you can still attack flying enemies with your high thrust. you may not be able to reach the head but you can still damage and break the wings. Broken wings= more time on ground for enemies. Once you get enough materials, forge a fully upgraded barroth headgear as this will give you even more defense. Keep a fully upgraded lance from every tree so that you'll have a lance for every situation. Also, WHO"S THE KING OF DEFENSES NOW, BARROTH?!?!?!?!?!
