This video comes from the bonus disc of the DVD documentary, James Dean: Born Cool, produced and directed by Denn Pietro & Denver Rochon. The DVD is available at the Fairmount Historical Museum.
James Dean:Born Cool was the first documentary executive produced by James Dean's cousin and head of the Dean Estate, Marcus Winslow. Because of the tremendous kindness of Marc, the documentary was given access to whatever was needed to put out an honest documentary about Jimmy featuring his closest family and friends.
These rare photos are being seen for James Dean fans for the first time (except for those who already have this DVD). Marc Winslow was kind enough to allow us access to the family photo albums to make this great documentary. Thank you to Winslow Family, James Dean Artifacts and James Dean Inc.

Good to see some new photos of this brilliant star. Jimmy was totally unique, and his beauty and sensitivity shine out as new even after all these years. His unsurpassed acting stands the test of time, and he reached immortality in those who love and respect him. Happy in heaven now!!!! Always remembered !!!

@@marcokite According to Rolf Wütherich, James Dean was a very well-behaved driver on the road. The speeding ticket was misreported and exaggerated, because Dean was fined for going just 5 mph over the speed limit. Dean had the right of way, so he was innocent. It was that other guy faul I really dont know what he was thinking about ,where he was looking that he didnt see James car,as it called he didnt pay attention to driving simple

I found the juxtaposition of music and photos irritating. And disturbing. To use this tragic figure, a true icon, to promote music that doesn’t fit his image or legacy is just maddening. It’s like watching Schindler’s List while listening to The Who or Snoop Dog. Leonard Rosenmann would turn over in this grave. But for a generation raised on Tic Tok and Twitter won’t likely get this. I can only apologize to Jim and to Lenny.

To call this over dramatic just makes my point. Again, I apologize to Jimmy and Lenny for this, it must be liberating to see be so shallow…as the reader burps coke, and goes on to the next You Tube video.
