The story depicted in the movie 'Noah' was actually the story as it appears in The Apocrypha, and not the story which appears in the canonical text of the King James Bible, which most modern Christians are familiar with. Funny addendum to this: When 'Noah' was scheduled to premiere in Richmond, Virginia, the premiere had to be postponed due to...Wait for it... Heavy rains and flooding. No, don't get up...I'll see myself out.

I genuinely love The Village. Maybe because it’s one of the first “scary” films I watched that properly scared me. Even though *i know* the red costume monster thing isn’t real, it’s still fucking terrifying. Not as terrifying as being completely blind and having to walk through the woods and into a world you know nothing of, but scary nonetheless.

@gregbasore2108

The final twist was fine and it worked, What didn't work was the back and forth on whether or not the monsters were real, which got changed up too many times. Once it was revealed that the elders made up the monsters as a form of psychological torture and manipulation, that should have stuck. The scene were the audience is led to believe that there is a real monster... then nope, it's one of the villager youngsters pretending to be a monster, what broke the movie. At least for me.

Naw, it should've stopped at the first movie. If they'd left it at that, it'd be an all time classic and a perfect example of a looped time travel story. Doing the sequel and it being so successful all but guaranteed that there'd be more to come with diminishing returns.

@@BrokenGodEnt Don't get me wrong, it's a great movie. My point was, if there's a place to cut off the Terminator series, it'd be after part one. I know who killed me was kind of a crazy plot, but it's also supposed to be a horror move, and I feel like we can give some leeway to horror movies (i.e., dream monsters, undead, vampires, etc.). I liked it. The problem with Shamaylan (sp?) is that it's hard to continuously come up with movie twists that people aren't going to figure out before the reveal. He got lucky with The Sixth Sense. I was ticked off and impressed at the same time because I didn't see that one coming. But he was never able to recreate that with other movies. It didn't make them bad movies. The thing I liked about The Village wasn't the twist, which was easy to see coming, but that this was a society that wasn't just going back to a simpler time with the same gender roles that we had in those eras but that they trusted and allowed a young, blind, woman to have the ability to succeed in a quest and she did. I loved the movie.

Darren Aronofsky created a beautiful and poignant graphic novel which was meant to serve as the movie pitch to the studio execs and a storyboard. He got a top tier co-writer & artist for this, and it shows; the story expands on the bare-bones biblical story and deals with themes of burdens of family, madness and salvation - it is an excellent read. Making his movie he totally fucked it up, focusing on schlocky action and cheap drama instead of daring to do what his comic book did, the Nefilim were turned into ridiculous CGI turd piles and Russel Crowe looks like he doesn't give two shits about being there.

Pops brain chip thingy gets blown into the liquid metal of the T1000,s. This is set up earlier when they show the liquid and say it won’t work without a chip.

What the heck. Did you guys do any research or even watch any of these films. These is really sad how many things can you guys get wrong in one video. I expected so much more especially out of you Jules.

Touch of Evil. Orson Welles stated he wanted to piss off the audience by throwing in as many plots twists as possible... though the big difference between that movie and these ones is that it somehow works.

, She never met Shyamalan’s character in the village. She met some random deputy who then went and spoke with Shyamalan.

The Watchers were inspired by the Nephilim, giants which were thought to be fallen angels. They are mentioned in the story of Noah ( Genesis 6:4) just before God calls on Noah to build the ark. Nephilim sounds way more mystical than Watchers, so I don't know why the didn't just call them that.

I thought the nephilim were the union of an angel father and human mother… or was that from a movie too…? :D

@NothingIsKnown The Book of Enoch, which is not considered canonical in the Western church but I believe is acknowledged though still not canon in most of the Eastern church (outside of I think Ethiopia), describes the Nephilim and the Watchers. Not sure but believe the Watchers are part of the Fallen. And the Nephilim are their children with human beings. There are some very good videos on KZfaq that are fairly comprehensive about this and other scrolls that have varying acceptance among the myriad of modern Christian sects.

I KNOW WHO KILLED ME handled the theme of duality better than the movie of THE PRESTIGE; the premise of THE VILLAGE was indeed silly, but the silly stuff was handled with conviction. Same with THE HAPPENING (except for Wahlberg), especially since it was established before and since that plants can do that stuff on a small scale.
