It’s the most energetic light source in the Universe against a massive gravitational monster. Could this cosmic showdown reverse the flow of time?
Pitting a black hole against a gamma-ray could spell some serious danger for our Universe.
Extremely dense and with a lot of gravity, most black holes are the remnants of massive stars. Compressed to a point called a singularity. At this infinitely small point in the center, conceptions of space and time break down.
Gamma-ray bursts are the strongest and brightest explosions in the Universe. In one second, gamma-ray bursts emit as much energy as the Sun will emit during its entire 10-billion year lifespan.
What if these two powerful phenomena collided?

A gamma-ray burst (GRB) is a highly energetic explosion that occurs when a massive star collapses or two neutron stars merge. A GRB would likely have a significant impact if it were to hit a black hole. One possibility is that the intense energy of the GRB would be absorbed by the black hole, potentially causing it to increase in size. The intense radiation from the GRB could also cause the black hole's event horizon to fluctuate, potentially altering its behavior. Another possibility is that the GRB could cause the black hole to emit a large amount of energy in the form of jets, which are highly energetic beams of particles that are expelled from the black hole's poles. These jets could potentially cause damage to nearby celestial bodies. It's important to note that the likelihood of a GRB hitting a black hole is extremely low, as black holes are not common in the vicinity of GRBs and the chances of a coincidence are minimal. Additionally, GRBs are usually observed in distant galaxies, so even if a GRB were to hit a black hole in our galaxy, the effects would not reach us. It's also important to note that black holes are extremely dense objects with immense gravitational pull, so most of the energy from the GRB would be absorbed, and the effects would be mostly felt in its vicinity.

Sir, I had a question which was bugging me for a long time. See if nuclear fusion/ fission process is what runs the Sun, why not we could use this same process in rockets? That is this nuclear fusion/fission can be setup in Space rather than Earth. What could go wrong? Can you explain what would go wrong? And if it's successful, then, we could invent light speed. Right? Please tell me about it. Thank you.
@didntask6019
@didntask6019 2 жыл бұрын
Here's what I think: Nuclear fission/fusion requires BIG factories and apparatus to run properly. Since rocket has to be lightweight as well we don't use it. Or perhaps the power from the process is so strong that it can detonate the rocket itself?
@ayaahmad2045
@ayaahmad2045 2 жыл бұрын
The nuclei of atoms only fuse under insanely hot and pressurized conditions, which would take a ton of fuel and space to set up in a rocket. As the other reply said, that’s not very efficient in our current rockets. It’s an interesting option if we ever want to attempt space travel on a much larger scale, though.

Time has nothing to do with Earth's rotation. The earth, other planets and every other celestial object rotates bc of the way they were formed. Time has a more direct relationship with gravity, but still, we can't really travel into the past methinks
@robbydutta6521
@robbydutta6521 2 жыл бұрын
No rotating backwards won't allow us to travel back in time. You need to achieve a speed faster than the constant speed of light, and a rocketship would theoretically require an infinite amount of fuel to attend that speed to travel back in time. The rotation change of our planet will only affect the seasons, the sun rising in the west.

I find it funny how we are hurtling through the vacuum of space in an aftermath / kind of still in the middle of the explosion and here we are killing each others for the limited resources and deities which do not exist. Totally worth it. :D

it's kinda hard to take any information from this video seriously considering that you presented the sound of a gammy ray as an orchestral symphony without even mentioning the resampling, the quantizing to sensible note rhythms and scales and the completely arbritrary choice of instrumentation. i mean, i'm not against sonification, but it just shouldn't be done so mindlessly
