Lol he does but most first born sons actually do sound like their father its the first real masculine voice we hear as babies and toddlers so makes sense ive been mistaken for my pops many a times and hes passed on now from agent orange related cancer from vietnam but my older sisters love to hear my voice on phone they say i sound exactly like him and it makes them smile.

Fun fact: When developing THPS, Neversoft has just finished making a game where the main character model was made in the image of Bruce Willis. As they did not yet have any skater-likeness licenses yet, the first skater in the game was essentially Bruce Willis. It was with this Willis build that they first recruited Tony Hawk to the project.

He's named Hudson after a wind that howls through part new york city (and is cold AF!) "the hawk" or the "Hudson hawk"- per wikipedia "Hudson Hawk" is a nickname for the bracing winds off the Hudson River. his grandfather who was an architecht who helped design and build a shitload of the manhattan skyline especially along the Hudon River and the wind was nick named after him (his last name was Hawk) and that is where riley's name comes from.

It happens in other sports too. Formula 1 has a number of cases where a former hero/world champion has children that get into it. Everybody looks at them like "Oh, he's just doing it because his dad was famous", but sometimes they actually do a good job and prove they're capable.

I respected Tony that he took it to the streets in the '90s. His style was not great but he was a pro vert skater so it was all good and it was cool to see him do street tricks. Riley took that legacy to the street with a dope style and daredevil ability. So much respect.

The movie is ok.. But the character is said to be named after the freezing cold wind that blows off the Hudson bay in the winter. East coasters call it the Hudson Hawk because it freezes the hell out of everything.

If I recall from Tony Hawk’s autobiography, wasn’t one of Tony Hawk’s ancestors Hudson Hawk who discovered the Hudson Bay? I’m pretty sure that’s why Riley was named Hudson
